A Really Dreary Day - But I Was Surprised
A Really Dreary Day - But I Was Surprised
I was reading a book and didn't want to go out, but my wife pointed out I had not had any exercise for a couple of days so I had to get out of my PJs, put on my jeans, and brave what appeared to be a lousy day. My wife said "Bring your camera" when she saw that I had not - because I couldn't imagine I'd get any good photos on a day like this.
Lots of people were out to see the Spring flowers at the Sichuan Fine Arts Institute even though it was overcast, damp and somewhat misty, but many people were out with cameras anyway. As we walked along the outer walls to get to the gate we passed some statutes on top of the walls.
1. This guy wasn't too welcoming.
2. Was this the Headless Horseman?
3. But beside the gate, a welcoming lantern.
4. The blossoms and flowers were not so bad.
5. Yellow and pink were in profusion.
6. Getting a little closer.
7. I think a jug factory must have gone out of business and sold its inventory to the Institute.
8. My favourite photo of the day.
9.
10.
11. And then, as we were just resting at the side of the road for a bit, I was surprised to see what seemed to be a photography class exercise take place in front of us.
12. They were taking pictures of her.
13. A better view.
14. And from a different angle, a really weird pose.
15. I finished MY photo session with a photo of a dead tree - no pretty models for me today.
I really didn't think there would be anything worth taking a picture of today.
That's what I think every day!
Great photos Buzz. I especially like the lantern photo.
Very nice Buzz. It wasn't a jug factory, that's where the staff makes their coffee every morning (speaking of coffee, mine's almost ready).
Really lovely photo essay. I think I agree with you about my favorite shot. I love how the pots are framed by the bridge.
Nice picture.
Beautiful photos, Buzz!
Glad your wife persuaded you to take you camera. I like everyone of these photos.
Even on a dreary day, there is always beauty-finding it might be harder, but it's there. I echo the sentiments of others-glad the wife had you bring the camera!
