My main "fear" is that I will have to live in an angry, fearful, armed country that is at war with itself.
Glad to see a "satire" tag on this article, because it's a classroom conversation that would never happen between teachers and students in US schools.
I sure as hell hope that's the case.

Getting a little gray on the muzzle, so to speak... Joints a little creaky (contemplating a knee replacement)... But all things considered, I'm doing pretty well.

Thanks for welcoming me back... I come and go...
To be clear... This article spawned out of hearing about the idea of routinely arming teachers. While I have no interest in owning a gun myself, I understand that other people do want them and have a right to have them. That's fine for others... but not for me. I don't much want to live in a society where everyone is armed in order to deal with their fears of what others may do. And the idea of turning elementary schools into armed fortresses would fundamentally ruin the atmosphere I would want to create for children.
