"When a man wantonly destroys one of the works of man we call him a vandal . When he destroys one of the works of God we call him a sportsman ." _ Joseph Wood Krutch
I have one of those stumps. Makes for a good sit and ponder place.....bugs be damned. After all, they are here too. I only disturb them when they Disturb me.
Most times, I look for the "Solace" of life. It has way too much to offer to ignore.
Maybe that's why I'm such a dink at times when it comes to politics. I know what's actually out there. Others are just fixated like a horse with Blinders.
This is not the best quality shot … it was one of the first taken in this group and from a great distance (before I got to the tree stump). I cropped much of the original to get the composition you're seeing …
Getting the shot is the priority and at times, you take what you can get.
LOL. I live with that issue. Either I'm not using my camera properly, or the Leica lens isn't of the quality I expected. I hope I'll get it right one of these days when I start using the manual rather than automatic settings.
Your photos are a joy to see even if they DO turn out a little fuzzy, but that's a rare problem in your case.
God/Nature/The Cosmos creates the beauty … I just take pictures.
You are so-o-o-o-o lucky to have these!
Indeed I am, Bob!
More to come.
These guys are so cute!
Just too cool Mac.
Looking forward to more.
Mac, everytime I see one of these kits my heart just melts. Keep them coming.
Btw.. I love your quote.
Seems like most everyone is in their dens.
There's someone in there; an aware conscience being. You can see them.
Well done mac.
Thanks for kind words; headed for the Mountains tomorrow evening … hoping to catch trout and photograph bears …
… we shall see.
As promised … where I position myself to get the photos.
The tree stump (loaded with termite damage, is about 30" high … I need to keep low, but, I can rest my lens (200-500mm) on the top.
On a given day, I don't see a lot of activity … best time seems to be early in the evening.

Despite our political differences, we seem to have some good common ground. Always glad to see you.
ALWAYS !
There is a time and place for everything.

Don't like Blinder types.
Posted picture (2 …
If it doesn't make you smile or feel something unique …
… you have my deepest sympathy.
I just now saw that you'd posted the second one. And you're right, anyone who doesn't do an "aw-w-w-w-w" brain-melt needs counseling!
I'm up in the Pocono Mountains now … sometimes the internet connection here is sporadic, but hopefully, I'll post more pictures during the weekend.
I appreciate every comment … many thanks.
Posted Photo 3) … The Papa Fox.
Handsome fellow.
It's easy to see why Momma likes him...
Did God put them there so you could photograph them? If so, one could easily believe in God.
I was thinking up captions for the top photo:
"What the hell is that?"
"Who put THAT there?"
"I can't believe it."
If "Humanity" could figure out a way to make a tree, a flower, a fox … or anything else "from scratch," …
I'd ask …
"So, like, WHERE'D THE SCRATCH COME FROM?"
Good night from the mountain!
Oh I love the photo of the papa fox. Very cool the whole family is present and accounted for.
Still have to post the Vixen nursing one of the kits.
Soon to be posted.
Everyone of these are absolutely beautiful!!!!
Hey Mac, are these Philly foxes from Burholme Park
or mountain foxes from the Poconos?
SP,
These are from Pennypack … technically a non-park portion of the same woods situated against my back yard … behind my house … not far from Pine Road.
Picture 4) is posted …

Absolutely!
And I kinda sorta doubt that the Vulpini family is posing for you...
