Russians are laughing at Trump on TV

Putin grabs the U.S. by the pussy.

DiOcoJrU0AEqUyr.jpg

The whirling sound emanating from Simi Valley, CA is Ronald Reagan spinning in his grave. - Tom Shafer

=======================================================================
“Today’s press conference in Helsinki was one of the most disgraceful performances by an American president in memory. The damage inflicted by President Trump’s naiveté, egotism, false equivalence, and sympathy for autocrats is difficult to calculate. But it is clear that the summit in Helsinki was a tragic mistake.

“President Trump proved not only unable, but unwilling to stand up to Putin. He and Putin seemed to be speaking from the same script as the president made a conscious choice to defend a tyrant against the fair questions of a free press, and to grant Putin an uncontested platform to spew propaganda and lies to the world.

“It is tempting to describe the press conference as a pathetic rout – as an illustration of the perils of under-preparation and inexperience. But these were not the errant tweets of a novice politician. These were the deliberate choices of a president who seems determined to realize his delusions of a warm relationship with Putin’s regime without any regard for the true nature of his rule, his violent disregard for the sovereignty of his neighbors, his complicity in the slaughter of the Syrian people, his violation of international treaties, and his assault on democratic institutions throughout the world.

“Coming close on the heels of President Trump’s bombastic and erratic conduct towards our closest friends and allies in Brussels and Britain, today’s press conference marks a recent low point in the history of the American Presidency. That the president was attended in Helsinki by a team of competent and patriotic advisors makes his blunders and capitulations all the more painful and inexplicable.

“No prior president has ever abased himself more abjectly before a tyrant. Not only did President Trump fail to speak the truth about an adversary; but speaking for America to the world, our president failed to defend all that makes us who we are—a republic of free people dedicated to the cause of liberty at home and abroad. American presidents must be the champions of that cause if it is to succeed. Americans are waiting and hoping for President Trump to embrace that sacred responsibility. One can only hope they are not waiting totally in vain.”

OK, HA you didn't flag it here either. You are correct HA, but the appropriate thing to do would have been to flag the article. You didn't. You just decided to complain about it. If you are not going to flag an article, then you don't complain about it. DO NOT DO THIS AGAIN.

The title has been changed to reflect the source material.

We should be able to use any sentence or term that is from the original article as a headline. The headline you are forcing me to use here is lame.

And that was before today. We are so compromised by Trump's weakness and ingorance.  Putin is playing him.  Or rather Putin is playing with him. He has something on Trump and Trump is scared shitless. Republicans are going to gaslight to keep the base tingliy. But they are a minority, Dems and independents are a majority, and we all see Trump and republicans taking Russia's side over the USA. And I don't plan to let it go on without a fight.  The lies and Trump's willingness to do Putin's bidding has made us a weak laughingstock.

Completely disagree with the premise or the underlying ideal of this headline/seed/story.

And this is why.  As this plays out the biggest loser is going to be Putin.  He made a calculation.  A bad one.

The trouble with Trump is the simple fact that the majority of those who do business or are in league with him in matters of business, personal or state, a too common result is their demise through financials, stature or both.

Putin is riding a wave that will crash on him.  He has plundered the Russian people's economy of trillions-----and much of it is 'relocated' in the US and other Western Democracies.  This fact can very easily give Putin and his regime an arse burn he can not wiggle out of or control to his favor.

As far as Trump?  His usefulness is coming to an end.  Besides, Trump was always about himself above all others.  If you didn't know that---you knew nothing.

Trump has always been a liar, cheat and a fraud.  That is a given.

I watched 'the press conference' today in Helsinki.  Trump is out of his league.  Way out of his league.  Did you notice his facial expressions?  He wasn't happy.  He looked like someone that knows others are onto him.

Did you notice, for the first time, Trump is bringing Putin down to his level.  I think Putin realizes it, but is stuck.  Serves him right.  To partner with a rich brat of low intellect is something Putin never had to do, but he did this time.   I sense future repercussions for Putin's regime on the horizon.  Putin screwed up.  Although Russian Intel is good----------US Intel is far superior.  Putin's money is going to shown the light of day and its going to hurt.

As far as the Trump base?  Vagabonds before, vagabonds now, vagabonds forever.   Their future is dim.  "Lock em' up!"

I closely observed facial expressions on both of them for one thing.  Trump was unhappy, confused, scared.  Putin looked bewildered, conveying to me that he'd bought a used car and got 'had' on the deal.  His usual smile, upbeat look and swagger of self confidence was just not there.

The other--and more important thing--Putin answered questions with absolute lies.  Not that he doesn't lie, he does almost constantly, however this time he said easily fact checked things and did so standing next to Trump.

Did you notice, for the first time, Trump is bringing Putin down to his level.

How exactly did he do that? Give me quote from the news conference.

Did you notice that Putin is already making claims about 'agreements' made during the meeting? Did you also notice the none of those who were in the 'group' meeting know anything about said agreements or that Trump didn't mention any agreements during the news conference?

All of which shows that Putin played Trump by convincing him to have a 'private' meeting. Everyone who has a brain KNEW that Putin would use that as a vehicle to characterize the meeting in any way he wanted and Trump would not be able to deny that characterization with any documented facts.

Trump has already refused to impose all of the sanctions mandated by Congress. That alone is a big win for Putin. Secondly, Putin has a wish list: loosen sanctions, reduce or eliminate support for NATO, walk away from Syria, recognize Crimea as part of Russia, or force AMERICAN CITIZENS to be interrogated by Russian operatives, ect. If Trump gives him ANY of that, it will be a win for Putin.

Putin's money is going to shown the light of day and its going to hurt.

Putin is that richest man on the planet. He has a loyal protective detail. Who the hell has the power to threaten Putin? You seriously can't be thinking of a international organization. That would be laughable. They couldn't touch Bush and they sure as hell can't tough Putin.

If anyone were to get anywhere near him, he could get on a plane and disappear into a plethora of countries without extradition agreements where he would proceed to live like a king...

Putin grabs the U.S. by the pussy.

And there may lay the smoking gun, now we know where Mr. Trump learned to greet women.

Foolishness aside, He certainly made our POTUS the fool for the entire planet to see ( although it is the one thing Mr. Trump seems to excel at).

I'm surprised by the ferocity of the left wing's response.  You think they'd be happy with Trump following their lead.

Trump sounded like just about every liberal from the last 50 years when talking about the USSR, North Vietnam, Cuba, China, Iran,  the Sandinistas etc etc..  Moral equivalence between the US and brutal authoritarian dictatorship is the rosetta stone of Post Kennedy left wing foreign policy.

That's not a very well informed opinion.

Actually that is a very well informed opinion.  We all saw it, we all heard it.  The entire world.  Your odd interpretation only makes sense if your goal is to gaslight and keep the base ignorant.  No amount of pubsplaining changes that.  Trump is the pussy of the country, and Putin has him by his tiny balls.  Pay attention or we might think you are trying to push Trump's bullshit lies.

Maybe he did

Now that the Special Counsel  has indicted a group  of 12 Russian intelligence officers for interfering in the U.S. elections, Putin wants to see the evidence, ideally translated into Russian and sent to the authorities in Moscow, all in accordance with an obscure law-enforcement treaty that the U.S. and Russia signed nearly two decades ago...

If Mueller and his team take the obvious step and ignore this invitation to question the suspects, they allow both Trump and Putin to accuse him of failing to consider all the evidence, thus giving a shot in the arm to Trump’s incessant claims that the investigation is a “hoax.” Yet if he agrees to pursue the opportunity that Putin has dangled in front of him, Mueller would give the Russians a chance to stall the investigation, discredit the evidence and otherwise shape the narrative around the case. So far, the special counsel has declined to respond to the offer.

First, I note that you admit that "Trump and Putin" would be in that together.

Secondly, I see that you didn't mention the quid pro quo part of the 'invitation'. Would you like to opine on that?
