The BUCKS Stop Here

While I have taken many, many photos of White-tailed Deer FAWNS and DOES (females), getting photos of BUCKS (males) is a less common phenomenon since, when BUCKS are without antlers … they simply are difficult to distinguish from DOES … and BUCKS do not have antlers year round.

But, that is not to say that I haven't had the opportunities to photograph bucks … I have … and I've gotten some nice shots.

3) This shot is particularly interesting; note the rudimentary antlers or "spikes" on these young bucks. I speculate that they are "twin" siblings (but can't prove it).

Images 1) and 2) are sepia toned … since most of the images I sell these days are in the form of prints purchased by private buyers, this subject is popular with hunters and usually end up as framed wall prints in hunting lodges/cabins.

I DO NOT HUNT … NOR DO I KEEP FISH THAT I CATCH …

Capturing IMAGES is more satisfying than killing the subjects … it's my preference … but to each, his own.*

When I used to catch bass in front of my lakeside home in the morning, they'd be in the pan for lunch - and you're absolutely right; you can't buy them to eat fish that fresh.

With rod in hand and a cold Heinekins in the other - memories are made of this.

Legislators and lobbyists for BIG ENERGY/OIL are enabling the poisoning and destruction of the planet! Climate science deniers among American VOTERS, vote for candidates who generally are the pimps for energy companies… NOT BECAUSE THESE VOTERS HAVE CLUE-FUCKING-ONE REGARDING CLIMATE SCIENCE … but because their candidates represent for them, a different bottom line … often that of "White-resentment!"

And the politicians who pander to these voters on that bottom-line basis, are also generally the same politicians who work to kill ANY/ALL REGULATIONS THAT FUCK THE AVERAGE "JOE," be they regulations that protect the environment, the consumer and/or the worker!

Either out of pure animus for certain groups of people, out of ignorance, stupidity or combination thereof, those who make political choices based on such myopic affinity, do so to the intended detriment to their health, earning-ability, working conditions and quality-of life!

It's not just about the fish one eats … it's about the bullshit one may willingly swallow!

I hope you didn't drop the beer when you got a fish, that would be beer abuse, a reel crime.

A little music to fish by in China,

The Ontario government tests the lake annually. It is limestone based, which counteracts the rainfall acid, and its sources are clean, although there are guidelines as to how many fish to eat during a certain period, but in my case we never came close to the suggested limit.

Why didn't you ask them?

They appeared to be horny and I figured that would make them testy.

Great shot (without buckshot) of two very handsome bucks.

So you shot them, and they live to tell!
