World Showcase   is a large area reminiscent of a permanent   world's fair   containing 11 pavilions, each themed and dedicated to represent a specific country. The pavilions surround the World Showcase Lagoon, a large manmade lake located in the center of World Showcase with a perimeter of 1.2 miles (1.9 km). In clockwise order, the 11 pavilions are:

Of the 11 pavilions, only   Morocco   and   Norway   were not present at the park's opening, as they were added in 1984 and 1988, respectively. [13]   Each pavilion contains themed architecture, landscapes, streetscapes, attractions, shops and restaurants representing the respective country's culture and cuisine. In an effort to maintain the authenticity of the represented countries, the pavilions are primarily staffed by citizens of the respective countries as part of the   Cultural Representative Program   through   Q1 visa   agreements. Some pavilions also contain themed   rides, shows, and live entertainment   representative of the respective country. The only pavilion that is directly sponsored by the government of its respective country is Morocco; the remaining pavilions are primarily sponsored by private companies with affiliations to the represented countries.

It's an interesting way to put on some steps on your pedometer … and, if it's your first time there … you can't possibly come anywhere close to seeing everything.

I went there when I was younger, now I would need a go-cart to get around......that might be fun and, interesting.

Mac, is this where the English pub is?

I love that place, but never been inside or walked passed it.

It is the last place we visit when at EPCOT.

About an hour or more before closing I walk straight to a table with a good view of the lake, order dinner and some English beer and relax. Make sure I have enough beer to last through the firework and at least ah hour longer.

The park is empty by then, and is a good time for a casual walk to the car.

No traffic on the way out either.

It is my favorite park at Disney World.

Yes … just across the path and to the right … I'll post a pic of the Pub.

Got fireworks pix too!

Any photos of the Canada pavilion?  I've completely forgotten what all the pavilions look like, it was so long ago that I was there, and I have no photos here of them.

Is that image supposed to emulate the iconic Chateau Frontenac hotel in Quebec City? It looks more like an English castle.  This is the Chateau Frontenac.

Great photos. One has to wonder why a small country like Moracco would be represented. I believe that they were the first country to recognize the U.S. as a country and also signed one of the first treaties with the US and offered to send troops to support us in our war.

Your post just reminded me, we had an early interest/involvement in North Africa too.

Three more EPCOT pix posted … I'm looking for the English Pub shots …

More tomorrow … I think I have shots of every one of EPCOT's World Showcase Pavilions … and others as well.
