Opening Walt Disney World's PANDORA'S "BOX" to its Image Possibilites
The imaginative, fantasy world of the film, "Avatar," and its "Land of Pandora," provide great forms to photograph, especially in such an exposure as to create silhouettes; for the digital artist, such silhouettes, placed in conjunction with, in this case, NASA images of space … represents a metaphorical "Pandora's Box" of image possibilities.

I added the silhouette of the eagle in flight to fill the composition, but also, for the purpose of creating an intermediate layer of depth between the foreground and night sky.
Always interested in critiques, positive or negative.
Can't think of a criticism - but rather, praise is deserved.
Was I misunderstood? What I meant is that the photo deserves praise rather than criticism.
No problem, Buzz.
More EPCOT shots coming.
Lonely night.
A positive critique. I like it, it gives more then dimension to the photo. Since the movie was indigenous people fighting against the power forces of colonization the eagle (sacred to Indian people) is the perfect addition.
Thanks for the iconographic insight … I hadn't thought of it and glad to understand the cultural dimension.
The eagle is seen as the messenger between humans and the Great Mystery (Creator)...some belive that the eagle is actually the Thunderbird in disguise. The Thunderbird is considered the most powerful of all the Manitou's (spirits) and if a human dares invade their sanctuary the human will not survive. The sole duty of the Thunderbird is to protect Mother Earth...And they do with no regard to humans or other animals/birds. They are the most powerful Manitou.
In colder or rainy weather, I wear my protection - one could say it has my back:
That Pandora must be one hot chick; everyone keeps talking about her box!
Mac, that is a fascinating image.
It looks like it could be a cosmic scene from the floor of the Amazon into deep space.
Just a question, not a critique, but a question.
I wonder what it would look like if the sky was an equatorial scene from our earth into the spiral towards the center of our galaxy?
Not sure exactly what you're describing, but, if you can clarify it, I might try to create such an image.
Mac, maybe I am not so sure either. Between chores over the weekend I did some searching and could not find anything that matched a mental description I formed while reading a couple sci-fi novels several years back.
I will post a couple images here, but not sure how they may work.
These are mainly desert like shots of the Milky Way. I was imagining that scene of looking from the floor of what could be the Amazon Forest through that opening of the Rain Forest canopy.
It is a curiosity. What do you think?
I think what you may want is a view of the night sky from a point-of-view of looking UP as opposed to looking towards the horizon; if so, I think I can come up with something to that effect.
Is that the idea?
I am not sure of the angle of perspective other than it is a look in to the edge of the Milly Way spirals.
