NAFTA renegotiated - Another Trump Victory
"Throughout the campaign, I promised to renegotiate NAFTA, and today we have kept that promise

I didn't intend to do this tonight but Iv'e noticed there is no discussion here on this important topic. Maybe I'm missing it. Today the President has fulfilled another campaign promise, not only of his but of others. The new agreement will be known as USMCA.  It will be the standard for other nations trading with the US.

The agreement lowers Canadian tariffs & quotas on US dairy products, lowers the percentage of how much of a car can be manufactured outside the US while still being considered an American car and forces Canada and Mexico to absorb some of the costs for the development of drugs and ends Canadian tariffs on American Wine among other things. Canada and Mexico will also be partially shielded from car tariffs should the President feel the need to use them in negotiations with other nations.

The agreement will have to be voted on by Congress after the November elections.

This is a key trading agreement. It will brings job back to America and revitalize the manufacturing sector.
The President has done was others had hoped to do. Europe and Japan should be next. In the end China will have to come to terms as well.

Tariffs turned out to be a great negotiating tool

The devil is in the details, which we have not seen.

Once Trump accomplishes something, Democrats no longer want it.

If dems do actually win the House, that is when Trump should submit his infrastructure bill. In the meantime, I only want to help outgoing Senator Flake down a few flights of stairs.

The details have not been revealed as yet and the president did not specify the important changes.

However, if this 'new trade negotiation deal' is beneficial to America, American workers and our trading partners it will be a long awaited win for all.

On it's face, looks like a pretty fair deal. So for now, I support this but I want to see the details as well. I will excuse trumps usual, "this is the greatest deal in the history of the universe" hyperbolic noise because he is an idiot.

"this is the greatest deal in the history of the universe"

The universe would be bigger than the history of mankind. jrSmiley_7_smiley_image.png

If we had a President who didn't lie every time he says... anything... I might be tempted to believe him. His incessant lies have earned incessant skepticism.

I will wait to see if there is anything in this deal, or if it has been nothing more than Mr Trump's everyday noise.

I would appreciate being able to believe the President. I do not appreciate disbelieving every word he says.

It is almost equally unacceptable to hear his supporters excusing his lies...
