Two Monarchs and a Dowitcher … Huh?

I dunno' … maybe an enigmatic headline will draw a small crowd … 'cause … unless it's about bangin' heads on the FP …

… "civil" does not seem to get it done … so … here they are, two Monarchs and a Dowitcher (whatever the hell that is).

I won't be having much to say for a while … tomorrow, I will try to get me one of these and leave it at that.

Otherwise, enjoy the pictures.

One of the things about your photos that pleases me is that you no longer seem to be totally isolating the subject, but are now providing supporting information, such as the flowers when depicting a butterfly, or a branch or bit of ground with a bird. It provides "relationship" as well as the subject.

One of the legends about the origin of the term "redneck".

That is good news!

I have a good number of Milkweed Seeds ready for you … these from a mountainous area; I can send them if you are still interested, and, when other seeds are ready from plants growing in richer soil, I will send those also.

Same here, fluttering around my butterfly bush.  But they never hold still long enough for a pic.

I've also seen a lot of butterfly wings lying on the ground, so something is getting them :(

I believe it's an Adonis Blue Chequered Fringe Butterfly.

Close guess but the Adonis Blue is native to Europe...

This is the Azure Blue Butterfly - Celastrina_ladon

Which is native to North America, We see a them here in Washington and occasionally.....

.....they come to visit.

This was a lucky shot, he fluttered away as the camera took the shot, I thought I didn't get it at first.
