U.S. Ambassador to U.N. Nikki Haley quits, to take time off
"We're all happy for you in one way, but we hate to lose (you). ... Hopefully, you'll be coming back at some point.

S E E D E D   C O N T E N T

WASHINGTON — The U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, is resigning "to take a little time off," President Donald Trump said on Tuesday, as she became the latest in a long line of high-profile departures from the administration.

Trump said he had accepted Haley's resignation and would name her successor within two or three weeks. She will leave at the end of the year, he said.

Appearing beside Haley in the Oval Office, Trump praised her and said he hoped she could come back to the administration.

"We're all happy for you in one way, but we hate to lose (you). ... Hopefully, you'll be coming back at some point. Maybe a different capacity. You can have your pick," Trump said.A former governor of South Carolina who is the daughter of Indian immigrants, Haley is seen as a rising star in the Republican Party and a possible candidate for the 2020 presidential elections.

But she said on Tuesday she would not be running in 2020 and would campaign for Trump.

Echoing previous statements from Trump, Haley said the United States under his presidency is now respected around the world.

"Now the United States is respected. Countries may not like what we do, but they respect what we do. They know that if we say we're going to do something, we follow it through," she said.

Haley is the latest in a long list of senior staff members to leave the Trump administration, including former Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, who was fired in March.

Earlier this year, Haley, 46, told Reuters that, "Every day I feel like I put body armor on," to protect U.S. interests at the United Nations.

Haley discussed her resignation with Trump last week when she visited him at the White House, Axios news site reported.

She said she'd do 2 years, living up to her promise.  Plus, for the folks on the left, a 'nominee' will give you something new to focus your rage on.

Yep.....Did what she said....

.......... unlike the "Left" that willy nilly flutters about wherever the wind tells them they should go.

Funny thing.....Trumps Promises are being checked off one by one too ! jrSmiley_79_smiley_image.gif

When he said he would be glad to have her back in any capacity I wish she would have looked him in the eye and said "I want your job"

She will be sorely missed. She was a solid representative of American interests at the UN. She learned the job quickly during the early days of turmoil for the administration. She was also a bridge between the President and that rapidly evaporating establishment wing of the GOP.

She didn't fit in with the "boys club" of Trump's circle. Reports are she was feeling unappreciated after Pompeo became Secretary of State and Bolton became National Security Adviser. They drowned her voice out and she lost face time with the president.

Lol, does everything that happens in the Trump Admin. have to support your preferred narrative somehow?

Perhaps she really just, God forbid, simply wanted to take time off like she said.

I know ..... OMG!   How could that be possible ......??

Yep. You're right. I mean like everyone knew she was tired and just needed time off.

It was so important that she never told her staff, absolutely blindsided Trump.

Something doesn't smell right and Nikki's playing the good Republican, which I give her professional respect for.

But the "I just wanna go home" shit is for the brain dead to believe.

The only thing that smells here is the lefts insistence there is some sort of nefarious intent on her part.    It smells like the usual left wing crackpottery they’re trying to sell these days.

Keep grasping at straws, just make sure they are paper straws, as required by the hive ....

Great idea! Why don't you just make something out of thin air.

Did I say anything or even imply evil or criminal regarding Nikki?

Or do you just think nefarious sounds great rolling off your lips and you have no clue of the meaning?

Nah, that's your job and like usual you are doing it so well.   You don't have a clue what her intentions are and yet you insist on pulling the usual partisan BS out of your ass that might support your leftist narrative

But by all means, keep grasping.   I know its all you got.

How exactly do you explain the fact that when she accepted the nomination from President Trump she told him she would accept, but only for 2 years?

Doesn't really fit that world of paranoia the left has made their home these days.

There are rumors going around that Ivanka Trump might be named the new US Ambassador to the UN.

Once upon a time we had Adlai Stevenson and Jeanne Kirkpatrick in that role. Now we might have Ivanka Trump. What happened to evolution?

This could be good for Ivanka though, when the laws come looking for her related to the Trump family financial crimes she can claim diplomatic asylum in one of the foreign country offices at the United Nations.

Will Ivanka Trump Be The Next United Nations Ambassador ...

She was the Gov of SC for 6 years and has a relationship with those people, which should make it permissible according to the rules;

if it turns out that they were letting her use the planes exclusively, then she'll simply amend her financial disclosures and pay whatever fine is involved.

it's certainly very low on the scale compared to what many others have done.

She says she's not running for anything, so what does it matter

Is it possible that they received political benefits for her use of their plane? I just heard the news of an investigation a few hours ago.

@IvankaTrump

It is an honor to serve in the White House alongside so many great colleagues and I know that the President will nominate a formidable replacement for Ambassador Haley. That replacement will not be me.

Once upon a time we had Adlai Stevenson and Jeanne Kirkpatrick in that role.

And who deviated from that? Would it be Jimmy Carter when we had an Ambassador resign after only 5 months on the job. That was the radical Andrew Young.

Perhaps She just wants off of the carousel to primary Mr. Trump.

She wasn't qualified with only one real political achievement and that was as a governor. She had never reached the level of being appointed to any committee at higher levels in order to get a real grasp of foreign affairs. She was in over her head and she knew it.

Trump only appointed her because she is a far right extremist in her views and a Trump apologist.

In Trump land those are the only 2 qualifications anyone needs.  Remember, Trump hired Rick Perry when Perry didn't even know what the Secretary of Energy did.
