Throughout the years I was responsible for defending workers’ and their rights to due process, and/or in charging management with violations of ratified agreements, the perpetration of unfair labor practices, harassment and other wrongful actions, with my counterparts across the table, there was almost never any personal acrimony ... we did our jobs and respected one another.

Your second picture almost seems to have motion !!
The sky was clearing just after a thunderstorm and mist was rising all around … I did use a slightly longer shutter speed than one which would have given a sharper image, and, did so to create just enough "blur/softness" to create what you perceived.
To those with whom I disagree … it is never personal …
