Thanks Pat, Until you brought it up I never really even though about it. It was just a natural shot I guess. But Yeah that is kinda does set it apart, I just never recognised why really. thanks
I personally like the little building kinda as a distraction to the main view.
This picture was also kind of a special picture to me as my brother and myself were out for a drive while I was in town vacationing. He's since passed. So that also makes it special to me, the memory of the time caught on film. RIP bro ! Yur missed.
I loved the extra long days , with water on both sides of the state ya got early light and late light. I'd get off work and still have a full day of light to play.
The beauty of the sunrises and sunsets is such a rarity here
Sorry to hear that Buzz, I live in the middle of a huge city, What I miss is the stars. We give off so much light ya can't see them here hardly at all. I kinda forget they are there.
I have no regrets. I've lived through so many experiences that are great memories now. I've seen the stars in all their glory when I was at my lakeside home in Ontario's Haliburton Lakes District and when I spent weekends in the area of Ontario east of Algonquin Park. The Milky Way was a mass of light, the Northern Lights were awesome, flaming meteors falling to earth and even tracing the flashing light of a satellite circling the globe. When I was a little kid, spending the summers at my grandmother's cottage on the strip of land between Lake Ontario and Burlington (Hamilton) Bay, I watched the magnificent sunsets over the bay every night, and the sunrises at my lakeside home were a joy, especially when fortified with Gull Lake Coffee (a large mug filled 1/3 Bailey's Irish Cream and 2/3 strong fresh-brewed coffee). As Bob Hope used to sing: "Thanks, for the memories."

Cool !!
I miss seeing the stars but the sunrises and sun sets here are beautiful though.
You talking about the stars and milky way made me think of this, Here is a couple pictures I took when I lived in Melbourne when one of the shuttles was taking off.
I watched it on TV till I could see them outside then I'd go out and watch till they almost disappeared then go back in and finish watching them go into orbit on the TV.
It was kinda cool. When They took off the whole place rumbled !!! Even where I was standing taking these pictures !
I've only been to Zurich, but I have no photos of it here. I was there on business for a client, and although I think I took photos of the quaint cobblestoned lanes and the mountains on the other side of the lake, I cannot really recall because all those photos are back in storage in Toronto.
On the horizon, in front of the distant shore, there seem to be some white sprays, one of which just to the right of centre almost looks like a sailboat - Do you recall what they are?
I echo your thoughts on the urge to wage in and the need to disengage from head-banging debate with people less interested in debate than in shouting their point of view and trying to drown out any who disagree.
I love your pictures as always) and those share by the others are equally inspiring to and appreciated by this old guy.
I noted that your article picture was a butterfly - I have really gotten to like taking pictures of mother nature's critters and creations, so I will close with these pics of mine
Nice shots. I've been familiar with Monarchs all my life (not just because of Canada being a member of the British Commonwealth) but what is the other one?
I can't speak for others, but in my case it fits the page perfectly. I enjoy seeing photos of trees - previously I did a photo-article about them. The language of the poem somehow makes me feel that it had been written much longer ago than only five years ago.
I just remembered that I promised to post photos of The English Pub ... I forgot; remind me on Monday and I will post those and others that may be requested if I can.
LOL. If the DISNEY version is your second most favourite, can you imagine what the REAL thing is like? Actually, I've been doing what I can to show the REAL thing to you and the rest of the NT members - some have actually bothered to look.
Enough banging heads for one day.
Thanks A Mac !!!
If I may add a bit of peace....
Thanks, Buzz.
I hope others will join in and add a peace-evoking message, image … or both.
I will shortly post one more image then call it "a day".
Me too. I've taken so many photos that say "peace" to me that I could post hundreds, but I'll stop posting with just this one more:
"A Day."
Good night all.
Saw this double rainbow on a country road in central Illinois when out for a drive.
A double thank you, Steve.
Beautiful, love the rainbow/lane stripe tangent !
Thanks Pat, Until you brought it up I never really even though about it. It was just a natural shot I guess. But Yeah that is kinda does set it apart, I just never recognised why really. thanks
If there were not a curve at the end of the road one could say you were heading for the end of the rainbow in pursuit of the pot of gold. LOL
Perfect use of LINEAR PERSPECTIVE by way of LEADING LINES … drawing the viewer's eye just precisely to where it wants to go!
Thank you it was just a natural place to take it.

Beach @ Melbourne Beach Fl.
Neighborhood park in Melbourne Fl.
Florida has the prettiest skies.
Yep the sunrises and sun sets are breathtaking !!
I loved the extra long days , with water on both sides of the state ya got early light and late light. I'd get off work and still have a full day of light to play.
Wonderful balance of life !!!
I thrived there !
The beauty of the sunrises and sunsets is such a rarity here - I really miss them, and never tire of seeing those posted here on NT.

Interesting. I toured the Cape Canaveral Space Center with my ex-wife and kids many years ago
Keystone Colorado a couple months ago. One of the most beautiful places I've visited in the United States.
That's a great photo, PJ.
The town reminded me of Interlaken Switzerland and Mont Blanc France. I bet it's simply beautiful covered in snow.
I've only been to Zurich, but I have no photos of it here. I was there on business for a client, and although I think I took photos of the quaint cobblestoned lanes and the mountains on the other side of the lake, I cannot really recall because all those photos are back in storage in Toronto.
Just outside my apartment in Melbourne. (I got down in the shadow of some scrub brush to take this)
The viewer can almost feel the wind and hear the chop on the water!
On the horizon, in front of the distant shore, there seem to be some white sprays, one of which just to the right of centre almost looks like a sailboat - Do you recall what they are?
Yep, You are correct they are sailboats. Melbourne was filthy with the little buggers.
One of my friends lived on one, It was nice size but still way too crowded for me.
We'd go out in it sometimes and he'd "let me" take the helm, LOL...
Mainly so he could just relax and have a beer.
lol
Orlando Florida. Grounds of the Hotel I was staying out earlier this year. Very tranquil (but not Colorado - hahahaha)
I love landscape pictures that have water in them !!
I love nature. I feel like I can breath when I'm standing in the middle of it.
Nice panorama, PJ.
I have no idea what that means but thank you. I took it with my phone. I'm not a photographer but I know what looks beautiful to me.
Here's a pic of a Crane that I snapped at dusk .
A shaded oasis in Melbourne complete with moss covered trees.
Another picture of beach of Melbourne Beach Fl.
Your Crane is bigger than my Crane. hahahahaha
Really good shot. My photo was a little too dark.
LOL Steve. Not only did you make her photo lighter, but you made her crane bigger than your crane.
@ steve
Your beach photo makes me think of the French lyrics to the end of the song "Autumn Leaves":
(And the sea washes on the sand
The steps of Lovers disunited.)
Other than some blizzards I have technical problems trying to get my scenic pictures.
This is a Christmas landscape picture with Julia as when was goofing with some new graphics SW at her office.
Fantastic.
Thank you Buzz.
To quote Raymond Babbitt (Rain Man) … "Very Sparkly!"
Yes, that it is.
She has a couple of others where where played with of other effects too. I might need permission to post them.
Okay, so she had a training session that spanned a few days using this new tool called Photolab. She got to experiment with silly things.
In fact, this is Silly Julia:
Surreal Julia
My Victoria Secret Julia
Hah, a movie quote that I've forgotten. Love movie quotes, but I'm not too good at counting cards (or toothpicks).
It's not just creative, but also fun to edit photos - it can be something minor or corrective, or through all possibilities to the extreme.
Thank you Buzz. She loves that work. Most of her work is professional advertising (affiche). But, sometimes she can play around and experiment.
This is a poster she did for a very high end performer not long ago. Yes, the wording is Russian.
and this cover of a silly music vid
Not only is she talented but beautiful as well. If you're a couple, you're a lucky guy.
I still pinch myself.
This looks like a painting. Am I right?
It looks like it, but it started as a cell phone photo and she gave it that effect digitally.
It almost looks better than the originals. IMO.
Well, it's really an overall fabulous pic from the model to the effects.
I'll have to mess around with my pics to see if I can manipulate some and enhance their look.
Thanks!
You are welcome PJ.
I wish I could tell you how she went about it.
Thank you too.
Not only is this discussion a proverbial breath of fresh air, it’s a stream of positive consciousness!
Great appreciation expressed to all herein.
Agreed. I't great to see such great activity on a group site devoted to the arts. Seems like there's still hope.
A Mac

Thanks, RIO. It's good to see you again after not having done so for way too long.
Nice shots. I've been familiar with Monarchs all my life (not just because of Canada being a member of the British Commonwealth) but what is the other one?
I don't have any recent pictures of scenes but, I remembered a poem that seems to fit,
Sorry for the size, I tried to make it smaller but, you couldn't read the poem.
I can't speak for others, but in my case it fits the page perfectly. I enjoy seeing photos of trees - previously I did a photo-article about them. The language of the poem somehow makes me feel that it had been written much longer ago than only five years ago.

Here's a picture I took a couple weeks ago. AMAC may recognize the location since I imagine he's been there annually.
Is that WDW Animal Kingdom, EPCOT China Pavilion Maybe?
LOL. The roof line and water-lily pond indicates it HAS to be one of the Asian pavilions at WDW.
Bingo. It was the very first time I had been to EPCOT. I stayed till the end and watched the fireworks.
The favorite of all places and times at Disney, except at the English Pub, at lakeside table.
I just remembered that I promised to post photos of The English Pub ... I forgot; remind me on Monday and I will post those and others that may be requested if I can.
Alright, that would be fantastic.
I always save it for the last. Then a casual walk out to the car and a casual drive out of the park.
Thank you Mac.

I don't know if I have seen everything, but I have seen a lot of your work.
You know, i believe Julia has a little Asian genes thanks to those invading hordes.
I can't find the photo right now, but will look for it. From a certain angle and expression, I think I see it.
Here we go. After a hard working day chasing those Ruskies back over to their side of the border:
Then of course it's time to go to McD's.
Pretty sure I see a little Asian from the expression and angle.
You have faith brother, never lose it....
You fly with the eagles my friend, you lift up those around you.
NWM
Greatly appreciated …
"Make new friends but keep the old …
Out with my grandkids; tomorrow will post Halloween and Disney pix.
