Watch The World's Largest Airliner Land In A Crosswind

I flew into Dsseldorf once. I won't do it again...
The plane behind this one seemed to do the same thing...
I hate the landing and takeoff part of flying, anyway!
An ''E'' ride for sure.
Excellent computer system and pilot back-up on board
Does not look like a flight I would want to take.
Oddly enough, we had a terrifying landing in Frankfurt, where the plane was just about to touch down and then suddenly throttled up... it was a near miss.
Maybe too much beer at lunch time in the tower.
We had a B52 Bomb Wing at Grand Forks AFB and the undercarriage landing gear of them were separately steerable and would stay straight on track to the runway, so that the pilot could land into the wind, even in a crosswind. It was always the damnest thing to watch a pilot landing one while having to see the runway from out of one of the side windows of the cockpit. Here's an image of an early model "crabbing" in and a video of a more modern one landing at RAF Fairford
That is SO-O-O-O F-ING COOL!
WOW!
I used to love to sit across the highway from the end of the runway and watch them land. Some really amazing pilots and crews! When the planes first came out many, many years ago, the fact that they could do this was classified. It's very windy on the North Dakota plains and there were so many times I was sure they weren't going to make it. Still landings like that were fairly commonplace there.
Must have been amazing. I'm jealous.
Lotta damn runway used there big boy.
