OH BABE WHAT WOULD YOU SAY - Hurricane Smith
Have I a hope for half a chance,
To even ask if I could dance with you? you hoo!
Would you greet me or politely turn away?
Would there suddenly be sunshine on a cold and rainy day?
Oh, babe! what would you say?
For there are you, sweet lollipop,
Here am I with such a lot to say, hey, hey!
Just to walk with you along the Milky Way.
To caress you through the night time, bring you flowers every day
Oh, babe! what would you say?
Guess, though, baby, I know,
I know I could be so in love with you!
And I know that I could make you love me too.
And if I could only hear you say you do, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh!
But anyway, what would you say?
Guess, though, baby, I know,
I know I could be so in love with you!
And I know that I could make you love me too.
And if I could only hear you say you do, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh!
But anyway, what would you say?

EVERYTHING IS COMING OUR WAY - SANTANA
TELL HIM - Glee
OUR DAY WILL COME - Darryl Hall
Our day will come
And we'll have everything
We'll share the joy
Falling in love can bring
No one can tell me
That I'm too young to know (young to know)
I love you so (love you so)
And you love me
Our day will come
If we just wait a while
No tears for us
Think love and wear a smile
Our dreams have magic
Because we'll always stay
In love this way
Our day will come
(Our day will come; our day will come)
Our dreams have magic
Because we'll always stay
In love this way
Our day will come
Our day will come

I love Jail break by Thin Lizzy. Love a strong bass beat
"Boys are Back" always makes me want to dance
I loved Phil Lynott.
His rendition of Whiskey in a Jar is fantastic.
Pink is my soulmate because she doesn't give a flip about people who she angers. I love her.
This song is my dream about 50% of the time
Yep !
"My opinions don't end when your "feelings" begin" !
That song and video always me up. Great words.
And this song with a similar theme:
Great vid with that one too. Love the Beatles reference at the end of the song.
This is such a kick ass rock and roll song. I just love the parts with the bagpipes also.
There's a video around if you can find it, a guy doing AC/DC with flaming bagpipes-a street musician. He is outstanding........
Wheat kings by the Tragically Hip
Bobcaygeon by the Tragically Hip
I'm Drowning by Twofeet (best bass beat around)
When we were young by the Revisionists (great video visuals and message)
Sorry-the Revivalists.....:
Here's a bonus track - New Orleans is Sinking by the Tragically Hip (they had a blast with this....:
When Dad was stationed in Japan, I was involved with the High School Band - played Trumpet.
Got "drafted" by the Band Director to be part of the Trumpet Trio. We entered the American/Japanese music festival and played the tune below. What a nerve racking experience playing in front of 500 folks for the first time - and winning 1st place.
Buddy Holly’s Not Fade Away makes me happy. Jerry shreds it at about the 3:30 mark.
Can't find video right off hand, but I've always been fond Lookin Out My Back Door by Credence Clearwater Revival.
Here you go Doc...One of my favorite as well.
Love it! My thanks.
Mine, too! I always wondered if John Fogarty was on an acid trip when he wrote that song
Here Comes the Sun (George Harrison - The Beatles)
(Richie Havens does a great job with this song. The Chinese music sites have at least a dozen different performers of it, but not Richie. )
[Intro]
Here comes the sun (doo doo doo doo)
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
[Verse 1]
Little darling, it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling, it feels like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
[Verse 2]
Little darling, the smiles returning to the faces
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been here
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
[Bridge]
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes
[Verse 3]
Little darling, I feel that ice is slowly melting
Little darling, it seems like years since it's been clear
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun, and I say
It's all right
[Outro]
Here comes the sun
Here comes the sun
It's all right
It's all right
I loved Richie Havens, got to see him perform at McCabe's guitar shop in L A many years ago.
I watched him live at the Riverboat Coffee House in Toronto. He's mesmerizing.
Buzz, sorry, I missed your post earlier. You beat me by 5 minutes.
Don't be sorry. Did someone say we couldn't like the same song? "Great minds think alike."
I'm all in on that.
Thank you Buzz.
For such a question, this is the first one to usually come to mind. Then many more will follow in no particular order.
Music begins 17 seconds in.
Here comes the sun.
The Beatles - I Feel Fine
KNOCK ON WOOD "Amii Stewart"
The Hollies - Bus Stop
And another great one:
I love that one too.
The lyrics give me a laugh.
I think the song just screams pure sex
but that's me
Yes it does.
I had no idea that the song was about being an undercover FBI snitch until I read the lyrics.
Right, at first glance who would guess?
I thought the lyrics suggested that he was trying to pick her up in a club when she came in with someone else.
...and when all was said and done, he did pick her up.
The undisputed Queen of Disco
Donna Summer - I Feel Love [Studio Version]
Okay, if Disco is allowed...
I never saw that before. It was good. I liked it.
Okay, here is pure silliness. You won't understand BUT the video tells the story.
Julia did the cover for it. More recently she did a poster for a concert as well. The performers name is Olya Polyakova. Some may spell it Olga.
This was a continuation of a story told in prior videos. She goes to the country for the summers. This is the first year her boyfriend didn't visit her. So, she is feeling dejected. Then some guy starts paying attention to her and she likes it.
That is where the story picks up and the video conveys everything.
Hilarious and well done !
Thank you Pat.
The Air That I Breathe By The Hollies
I take it you're a Hollies fan, too?
Oh yes, since I was much younger. Those are my 2 favorites and always sure to put a smile on my face.
Never paid much attention to this until I heard it on Idiocracy. It was perfect for the scene.
Probably no one can guess my favorite part of the vid.
The Equals - Baby Come Back - "Top Of The Pops" Show (1968)
Always a favorite.
Gloria Estefan - Turn The Beat Around (Remix)
The 5th Dimension Age of Aquarius 1969
Grease- You're the one that I want [HQ+lyrics]
Songs That Make You Happy To Hear Them
As a drummer I always smile when I hear pretty much any song from RUSH
Great talent. Great performers.
I actually saw them in 1979 (Home on leave after basic/tech school) at the Poughkeepsie Mid-Hudson Civic Center. Their 3rd time there, 3rd time they set an attendance record-they really started getting famous in 1980 or so. BTW, I hang around in Port Dahlousie (in St. Catherines), Ontario on Lake Ontario.........anyone know that place's clain to fame?
I saw them in Lubbock, TX in 1992? Date is a little fuzzy because the only thing I can remember is I was 6 weeks along with the first bundle of joy. I could do the math, but I'm cold.
Cool By the time I knew of Rush they were getting pretty big, I saw them 3 or 4 times in their heyday and each concert was fantastic !!!
Unfortunately as a drummer Peart's style and talent is well beyond what I can play. I usually play easy stuff like Bad Company myself. But watching and listening to Peart playing never gets old !
Love me my Rush. Last time I saw them was at Jones Beach.
My all time favorite band. (Being a drummer as well you understand.)
However, outside of Rush for a moment, what do you think of Carter Beauford of Dave Matthews Band?
This song makes me feel good.
YEAH !!
He be Jammin !!!
Thanks !
LOL, That one is so much better After this one:
Island time.
This song is just nuts. Listen to the lyrics.
I love Mary Chapin Carpenter.
Out from Avenue C
I seen it in the eyes it was ready to freeze
From the valley hotel
Fuck you!
I don't care about you
Fuck you!
Wellfair hotel
I spent the night in jail
In the Well ... hotel
Fuck you!
I don't care about you
Well he dies while we just stood there lookin' at him
Ohhhhhhhhh
I don't care about you
:~)
That was the song that my first fiance' gave me. I guess he isn't still the one, LOL!
But it makes me smile when I think how young I was.
