MSNBC morning ratings top Fox for first time in 18 years

MSNBC’s viewership last week propelled the network to its first No. 1 cable news network daytime rating in 18 years, NBCUniversal announced.

The network averaged 1.56 million total viewers between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Dec. 17-21 week — ahead of Fox News’ 1.54 million and CNN’s 975,000.

It was the first time in three presidencies that MSNBC topped Fox on that metric. The most recent week MSNBC beat Fox there was Nov. 6, 2000, when former President George W. Bush was first elected.

MSNBC also beat Fox in the crucial daytime demographic of 25- to 54-year-olds last week — for the first time since Oct. 8, 2001, the network said, citing Nielsen data.

The cable network, which media observers often portray as the liberal counterpart to the conservative Fox, also finished ahead of its two main competitors in prime time for the fourth consecutive week.

And it boasted the most-watched program on cable news last week, "The Rachel Maddow Show," which drew an average of 3.21 million viewers.

Clearly these ratings results belie Trump's "popularity". The network that acts as a propaganda arm of the Trump government is losing viewers, while the network who holds Trump feet to the fire is gaining viewers. That should frighten those deluded people who think is in good shape to be re-elected in two years.

Also this article indicates that Sean Hannity, the most visible Trump flunky on Fox (not that they all arent, with one or two exceptions) is losing to one of Trump's greatest critics in the media, Rachel Maddow.

Cue empty Madcow comments from NT conservatrolls.

There is no doubt that MSNBC success is a backlash against Trump.

Trump lies about 28 times a day

Basic cable packages come with FOX , but not MSNBC   interesting....

"conservatrolls." Think SP missed this one for context.

Wally, my understanding and memory is that you admitted you have been a troll on this forum. And you are a conservative.  Not sure what your objection is to the word conservatroll.

IMO it should not have been deleted at all.

There is a member who called you a troll in a few comments to you over the last six months or so and she was not censored deleted or given a coc for doing so, on the basis that you had admitted to it.

I don’t honestly understand why anyone would watch the garbage on the boob tube when you can get superior reporting in print or through NPR and the BBC.

I like both of those.

The way it is now with most newstainment, one has to sift through several outlets to draw a larger picture.

Hmm, probably because Christians were busy preparing for the celebration in remembrance of God entering the world in the person of Jesus
