Funniest story. The atheists (friends) on NT have given me a book to start the New Year off with and I have 'leapt' to the task with both an audiobook and a read version. It's All Good! I began both listening and reading moments ago!
I did not see that coming, and I did not predict you asking the question. STELLAR DAY- A'MAC!
To add some colour to the January 1st 2019 page, here are a couple of photos I took of stores in Chengdu that sell Chinese New Year decorations and paraphernalia.
Holy Smoke!!!! The sun just came out for the first time in about a month. Although it's still through a misty sky it's amazing. It's nine o'clock in the morning here, and I don't intend to go out until around noon, but I can finally dust off my camera a get some photos today, that is, if the weather doesn't return to normal by then.
Mist, haze and fog are great unifiers for composition's sake, and, as creators of atmospheric perspective. When forms are literally shrouded and melt into the distance of a scene, they are often spiritual, magical and/or sublime. Don't wait for the sun, exploit the MIST-ery.
Happy New Year.
Happy New Year Mac... Wishing you and yours the best in the new year.
And many happy returns Brother!
A happy, healthy, successful and productive year to you, A.Mac, my good friend. That is a great photo, beautifully framed.
Happy New Year to you A. Mac. Here's to better times in 2019 !!!
* HAPPY NEW YEAR 2019 *

NOTE: "Live as if I will die today?"
Happy New Year. I hope good fortune and happiness smiles down on all y'all.
Out with the old, In, with the new........
A spiritual time lapse ... my kind of scene.
A very serene scene...a new day is coming
Dear Friend Nowhere Man: Superlative time lapse streaming to encapsulate the hope for the New Year.
Most well done!
Thanks.
E.

I did not take or make this, but it is a nice morning to wake up to on the first page of this new year.
Like the photos, vids and Celestial theme too.
Thanks folks.

Thank you Mac. I know that picture from somewhere. Maybe something you posted before?
Here are a couple more.
Dear Friend AMac: Glad you found that photo of us as teenagers tooling around in our one horsepower engine ride.
As I recall, we were headed out for a double date with the Doublemint Twins.
Breathe mint, candy mint.
I don't really recall who dated whom.
Ah, the ravages of age.
Smiles.
E.
Suzy Chapstick sends her regards … HAPPY NEW YEAR, Enoch!
Dear Friend AMac: Happy, healthy, fulfilling, prosperous and meaningful New Year to you and yours.
When you see her, tell Suzy I hope the chapping is easing up.
My apologies.
Smiles.

Dear Friend Dave: "Over the river and through the woods".
I recall hearing of horse drawn sleighs from my paternal grandmother, Bubbie Esther.
In my youth I used to go on my flexible flyer sled in the winter.
When our son and daughter were of age, we did that as a family.
One of the true joys of winter.
Great image.
Thanks.
E.
Happy New Year to you and yours Mac and to all NT members.
As promised, Kavika …

Never mind, the sunshine was merely a temporary aberration.

As you've already seen, I have little choice here. I once said that the most useless thing I brought with me to China was my binoculars.
