"....old school there's nothing like it."
"...in the year 2075 people will still think this tune is the shit."
"Great sound, brings it all back ! I wanna go back ! No music compare's with it these days."
" this song was on all the radio stations. Was it the beat? The words? It was just a song that moved and made you wanna move! The words of course still hold true and always will.."
"If you is reading this and its 2030... theirs a pretty good chance I'm dead.. as long as people are still liking this classic.. i will be smiling from above"
"this song alone is the best thing yet"
WHATCHA SEE IS WHATCHA GET - The Dramatics
That's what I'm talking about.
Turn up the volume full blast and experience greatness.
i do and did,
about every day, and at the moment, my neighbors are unaware as to why, but they are not happy with you JR
SMILIN FACES - The Undisputed Truth
"One Of The Greatest Records Ever Made"
WHAT DOES IT TAKE - Junior Walker And The All Stars
FAMILY AFFAIR - Sly And The Family Stone
I know that rap music doesn't follow the usual rules of grammar, and if the quoted lyrics are a grammatical example of its predecessor, I can understand where rap comes from. I lament that today, perhaps because of reliance on spell-check and grammar-check, the use of proper grammar appears to be deteriorating. It really turns me off when I see that.
This can be deleted as off-topic I suppose, if it's considered improper to be critical of the article itself.
By the way, I once attended and enjoyed a live concert featuring Sly and the Family Stone.
watt
a buzz kill.
My Family was stoned,
but not for impersonating Fred, and his Fruity Pebbles, also known as Flintstones. Actually, due to lack of Rubles.
Yet, asz usual, i dygress
I'm a big fan, so much so, i'm more like an HVAC system. Iv'e found,

Excellent choice of songs, JR.
Excellent Choices my friend, feel free to expand.......
And, please don't forget the one that will blow their minds in 2075/2030 -
What's Going On? is probably my favorite song.
Chaka Khan cover is great too.
Scat girl! Scat!! Lord, if we could have borrowed Marvin back for a duet with Chaka on this one!!!
I love this song! What is interesting to me is I do not remember hearing it growing up or know the title!!!!
If you're a movie lover, this is from one movie that will be a classic for EVER - The Big Lebowski -
Interesting, Kenny Rogers and Charlie White are in this version - the studio version has Glen Campbell and some folks say that Karen Carpenter was the tambourine player.
Heard it for the first time in '67 while getting our chopper ready to head for a resupply of Hill 881 and Khe Sahn - Wow.
Crawlin out as I was crawlin in........
Yeah..... The condition was pretty screwed up back then......
Rogers first hit...... Memories....
I often wandered where Kenny Rodgers 'hailed' from! Cool exchange of information there!
"Doing a bowl." Back in the day. Boy O boy!
The graphic reminds me of Richard Scarry. I just bought my bartender the Best Word Book Ever for his son.
I had given him the Junior Classics that my grandma bought for my mom in 1936.
I'm not much into poetry .. but what is music with lyrics, if not poetry set to music?
It is the ability of an illustrator to capture the satire, hi-jinks, and passion of a day 'cut' out of life! I do remember that cover!
that doesn't even ryme
Either I missed the memo on "how to post youtube links" or it's because I'm not a youtube subscriber, but I can't post the stupid links. Here are some old favorites, many of which I discovered on youtube by recommendations. I apologize for not being able to post the links.
"Six Days on the Road" by Dave Dudley. Old C/W upbeat truckin' song.
"Wolf Creek Pass" by C.W. McCall. If you like that C/W comedy, you'd also like "Black Bear Road" and 4-Wheel drive."
"There won't be no Country Music" by C.W. McCall, not so funny but has a good beat, easy to dance to. If you listen to just one off my list, do this one.
"Angel of the Morning" by Juice Neuton. C/W sweet.
"Holding out for a Hero" and "Total Eclipse of the Heart" by Bonnie Tyler.
In "Holding out for a Hero," there's a couple of scenes where Bonnie is standing on a tall, narrow plateau in some desert wearing a long white dress. Someone cut that out, over-bleached her dress until she was just a bright white blur and posted it on ANOTHER video titled "Picture proof of the existence of angels" or something like that. Some people have no shame.
"Shadows of the Night" and "Hell is for Children" by Pat Benatar. If you find the right version, "hell is for Children" has a beautiful riff before it starts.
"Dream on" by Areosmith.
"Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf.
"Run Through the Jungle" by CCR.
"Eve of Destruction" Berry McGuire.
"paint it Black" by the Rolling Stones.
"No more Tears" by Ozzie Osborn.
"Iron Man" and "War Pigs" by Black Sabbath.
"Hurt" by Johnny Cash. If you listen closely to THIS one it's sort of scary, and remember, I like Black Sabbath and Ozzie.
"Hell's bells" by AC/DC. This will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
"Close my Eyes Forever" by Lita Ford.
Sorry, hard to pick just one and again, I apologize for my lack of skill to post links.
BAD nightwalker!
Hell of a 9" Nails cover
Jackie Fuchs (aka Jackie Fox, the bass player for the Runaways) was recently on Jeopardy - and won something like 7 games in a row! Who'd a thunk it.
When you reply to a comment or seed an article or video, there is an icon at the top of the box that looks like a frame of film. It is just to the left of the smiley face at the right end of the bottom row of icons. When you click on that icon of the frame of film, once you click the tab that says "You Tube" you will see this form
( I think I may have made the screen shot too small)
the long fill in box just above the list of videos is where you put the url for the You Tube video. That is the address that appears in your browser address box when you have the desired video on the screen and ready to play.
Paste the url from You Tube into the long space on Newstalkers that reads "You Tube ID or URL". Then, at the right of that long box is a button that reas "Embed This Media". Click on that and you are done. The video will appear in your seed or comment.
And if you wish to affect the size of the video as some of us are doing. Place your video into a table (using the table icon on the edit toolbar for comments. Go to: Table properties and change the 100% percentage to some lesser percentage. Enjoy the difference!
Nightwalker, if you have questions - private message me. Glad to share what I know.
↑ How many of us have been in this situation?
↓ Here is a video which I would like to know what Fred Astaire movie it is and who is this beautiful lady??
One more thing: To me, there is nothing quite as 'stellar' as watching a woman and man dance together! Enjoy patrons!
LOVED every one of these !! Thanks for posting these!!
Got a gon' good one for you, JR! (This broke me down just now.) Adjust your speakers to "Quality."
Dude, Marvin, take your time and stretch out this slo-jam!
