America The Absurd
Some apologist for Donald Trump was on CNN a few minutes ago saying that Donald Trump is owed an apology by those who have suggested he did something wrong.  I'll tell you what, I will apologize to Trump when he apologizes for chanting "Lock her up" at dozens of campaign rallies in 2016, and beyond.

The person he was chanting to have locked up had been cleared of charges by the US Justice Dept.

I will apologize to Donald Trump after he apologizes to Barack Obama for his racist "birther" campaign in 2011, and beyond.

I will apologize to Trump after he apologizes to the American people for standing on a stage in July of 2016 and asking our biggest geopolitical foe, even enemy, to spy on and steal the private information of an American citizen, his election opponent.

I will apologize to Donald Trump after he apologizes for suggesting on twitter that then President Obama knew in advance of the terrorist attack on the nightclub in Florida where 50 some Americans were killed.

I could go on like this all day, but you get the point. Donald Trump is not worthy of an apology.

Plus we have to see what the Mueller report actually says. Does it disprove that anyone in the Trump campaign was involved in any way with the Russian interference in the election, or does it say we couldn't find evidence beyond a reasonable doubt.

In any case, once again we see the absurdity of America in the era of Trumpism. We have this truly despicable human being claiming , as he always does , that he is the aggrieved party.

When the intelligence community announced that Russians had hacked the DNC, Trump said no, no, it was probably some 400 lb. guy in New Jersey. To this minute Trump has never really agreed that Russia interfered in his favor in the election, even though all investigations have determined this to be true. The reason for this is simple, he wants them to do it again in 2020.

The country , or about 35-40 percent of it has never been able to grasp the ultimate plain truth about this man , he's not fit to serve in government. He's not a good or even decent person.

Those who are praising him now because he has been criminally investigated for two years without an indictment forthcoming continue to make a travesty of our national political life.

I hate to say it, but there is no doubt things will get worse, from both sides. They will get worse until this travesty in the White House is gone.

Any mental disorder in this situation is from the Trumpsters. That has been completely clear for three years, more if you go back to the birtherism.

1st, I'm begging you, please stop embarrassing yourself. Donald Trump became a birther 4 years after you allege someone in the Clinton campaign started it. (Which isn't true anyway.)  4 years. You cannot possibly seriously suggest that Clinton is responsible for Trump becoming the king of the birthers, can you?

John, no one is embarrassing themselves. It’s more embarrassing watching people getting so obsessed with Trump.

People who support Donald Trump embarrass themselves every day. If they vote for him to be re-elected, make it embarrassment X100.

This is not a close call Kathleen. Trump is a proven fraud. A tax cheat to the tune of tens of millions of dollars. A pathological liar. And he is a moron. And that's not really a close call either. he has said more stupid things than every other president of the past 100 years combined.

I think you are a nice lady that lives in a self-created bubble, because you don't want to believe the obvious.

Sparty, should Donald Trump apologize for chanting "lock her up" for months, and now even years, about someone who had been cleared of charges by the DOJ ?

Should he apologize for leading the birther conspiracy movement AFTER the state of Hawaii had officially announced that Obama's birth certificate was in their possession?

If he apologizes for those and more, I will apologize to him. That is fair, right?

Of course, on that basis I will never have to apologize, lol.

The point is Trump cannot be "rehabilitated", it is impossible.

I'm not surprised you don't see it John, since your eyes are clearly wide shut.

Do you recall if the mass media, station after station, report after report, endlessly chanted "lock her up" for over two years   No?      Thats because it was an epic omission of reporting.  Unprecedented really .....

Do you recall how many in charge of Clintons investigation are now fired for cause?  No?   You should, there were several.

So nah .... its not even close to the same thing.    No matter how hard you try to spin it to make it so.

Trump tried to claim he fired Comey because he had mistreated Hillary but that excuse lasted about 5 seconds until he told Lester Holt that he did it because Comey was investigating the Russia thing.

I see now what your point is about "lock her up". You are saying the media chanted "lock him up" about trump for two years.

Ok, fair enough in that sense. Doesnt really pertain to what Trump did though.

Exactly and so maybe there is hope for an honest discussion.

Doesnt really pertain to what Trump did though.

I really doubt we will find much common ground here.   I'm not saying Trump hasn't done things wrong IMO.   He clearly has.   The worst of which being not keeping his trap shut for five minutes on Twitter.   But if you are worried about his narcissistic nature?   Were you as worried about Obama?   In some ways he was worse in that regard.

The main problem i see with you John is you simply can't give Trump ANY credit for ANYTHING good.    And he clearly has done good since coming into to office.   Clearly.

Oh I accept that Mueller could not prove there was collusion. No problem. Like I said yesterday, if Russia did not exist Trump would still be completely unfit for office.

People like those who suggest there is a "both sides" rationale for accepting this travesty we know as the Trump presidency are the ones I worry about.

Nothing you cited meets the standards for an investigation to be opened.  Evidence that a crime was committed is warranted and there was none...zilch for collusion.  Exactly what was the discovery of evidence to authorize the investigation? The "investigation" was a witch hunt as Trump stated.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway decried the media — other than Fox News — and made an impassioned call for Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) to resign in response to Attorney General William Barr ...
It's nice to see Kellyanny still has an affection for the absurd.  If lying "day after day" required resignation she and her boss would have been gone a long long time ago.

The debate is really just beginning. This week Felix Sater will testify before Congress about matters he once said would end Trump’s presidency. Namely, he’ll talk about the Moscow Trump Tower deal. The president not only lied about the existence of that project but his obviously opened himself up to blackmail by the Russians by doing so. When the public learns of this in all its sordid detail, they won’t be satisfied with William Barr’s whitewash.
