Jussie Smollett won't be prosecuted on charges he faked attack
Disorderly conduct charges against actor Jussie Smollett have been dropped, his attorneys said Tuesday.

The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office will not be prosecuting Jussie Smollett, who was previously accused of faking an anti-black, anti-gay hate crime in Chicago in order to drum up publicity for his role on the TV drama “Empire,” Fox News has learned.
The judge granted a nolle pros, which essentially means that the case has been dropped and that he will no longer be prosecuted for the alleged crime. It’s unclear at this time why the court decided not to proceed with prosecution, but the former “Empire” star is expected to give a statement after he leaves the courthouse later today.

Personally I just think the prosecutors wanted to get this nonsense behind them. Smolett was never going to go to jail anyway.
It hasn't been verified yet, but there are rumblings that Kim Fox (who recused herself) had a role in this...

There is also the matter of the fake letter he sent to himself. The FBI is looking at that...That may be a different story, right?
Chicago television news reporting that the Chicago Police Dept sources say that the evidence against Smolett was overwhelming.
It is obvious that the police do not agree with the decision to drop the charges.
I wonder if we will get an explanation of that "decision" from Kim Foxx herself????
It will be interesting to see if this story has any affect on the mayoral election which is coming in a couple weeks. Both candidates are black women who are pretty similar politically so I dont know that there would be any effect, but who knows?

You know Rahm isn't running again for Mayor again when can he can be honest about what happened and admit this was a whitewash and not on the level.
Where, beside inside the heads of some people's heads, does it say that he faked anything? All the charges were dropped which includes the filing of a false report so one wonders why people continue to lie about that but then one remembers who and therefore why.
This appears to be another miscarriage of justice, perpetrated by those who have abused their power. Kim Foxx can now be added to the list along with Marilyn Mosby, Aaron Persky and the Simpson jury.
