The People vs Winter -- FUNNY VIDEO
Our driveway is covered in black ice-- which is notorious both for being extremely slick, and for being extremely difficult to see. Even in broad daylight.
I had to go pick up my son from school this afternoon, and made my way out of the house to the driveway. Our driveway is at a fairly steep incline, and I'm not at all fond of it-- especially in snow and ice.
I hit that black ice and whoopee! I found myself skating down the driveway, until I fetched up against the hood of the car-- BUMP. The bump made the car slide down the hill a bit, but, by keeping most of my weight on the hood of the car, I was able to keep from falling up under the car on that ice. It took a bit, but I managed to lean on the car, distributing my weight and inching my way around the hood until my feet could reach the pile of snow/ice along the point where I could walk, hanging onto the car for dear life.
At any rate, this is, by no means, strange to anyone in about 90% of the US right now, as we battle snow, frozen rain, sleet, etc. This video was posted on Facebook, and it IS funny-- although I really feel sorry for those that fell. It appears that no one suffered broken bones, and that's good!
I hope you enjoy this funny look at People vs Winter!
Thanks for coming by and please stay warm and safe!
I have been there-- falling on ice and snow! Fortunately, I have managed to avoid broken bones, other than a broken tail bone... OUCH!
Hope you enjoy this-- it IS funny!
I couldn't believe the dummy jumping into the pool!!!!
Hahahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!! Love the skier who face-plants right into the snow bank.
I busted my own butt in the driveway this morning. I had just started to stand up and regain my balance, whena neighbor came running over to see if I was OK. He promptly busted his butt, and then slid right into me, knocking me down again. His wife sees the whole thing and comes running over, and down she goes. We were laughing so hard that we couldn't stand up and help her. She crossed the last few feet on her hands and knees, and we spent the next5 minutes resembling Larry, Moe and Shemp. I'm still giggling about it.
I know! I looked up the original video on that one, and he was German-- he thought he was being He-man to do it! What a hoot! (It looked like that hurt!)
I am just so glad you enjoyed this!
And OH NO about your own mishap! I was just lucky to maintain my balance... I bet it was really funny, the three of you!
I haven't worn more than shorts and T-shirt for several weeks.
Yuma weather is very, very nice...
Yikes some of these sites were hair raising!
Tonight it will be -1 in Roslyn. A all time record low.
Shut up!
It is just beastly out. I feel so sorry about the strays out and about-- and worried about our homeless. A fellow froze to death, sitting outside the shelter where he usually stays-- I don't know if he was drunk and just sat down to rest and froze to death, or if there was no more room. Breaks my heart! It is supposed to get down to 6o here. Glad my babies are inside where it is warm!
And no joke, they were OUCH!
Oh, I'm sure it hurt, and he probably had some bruises too.
I'm thinking he may have broken his tail bone... To his credit, he did stay splayed out, face down on that ice-- I would be scrambling for warmth!
Yes, I am envious right now... But we do have plenty of water, so I guess it could be an even trade.
When spring comes, we do it really well, too! After a winter like this, every sign of spring is a reason for celebration!
It's 1 degree here....BBBRRR ! I worry about strays and the homeless also Dowser.
I have been looking and haven't seen anyone, yet. But if I do, they will come inside and be warm!
Some of these, when I look at them, I can't help but think, "Oooohhh! That's GOT to hurt!"
Thank you! I managed to stay upright-- and thankfully, the car was there...
I loved that one, too!
Yeah, the Tim Conway walking is the trick!
