"I've Looked At The Election From Both Sides Now....."
What he should say "it is unimaginable that we would ever return Trump to office for four more years".  That is what everyone should say, but some people can't leave it at that, they have to be "fair" to both sides. Who has Donald Trump ever been fair to ?

I heard Michael Smerconish, the CNN host who has a Saturday morning show,  in an interview earlier today. Smerconish has been a "both sides" person when it comes to politics for years and years.

Smerconish offered the opinion that Trump's stay in the hospital for covid-19 treatment could work to his benefit in the election if he comes out and presents himself as having overcome the disease and so now he understands it better and can relate to what the average person who gets it or fears getting it is thinking. Smerconish says the election will be decided now by what people think about the virus, not by the Supreme Court nomination, or racial issues, or antifa or the economy, or  anything else but the virus. So to Smerconish , how Trump reacts to his illness could decide the winner of the election.

What I want to know is what the fuck is wrong with the Michael Smerconishes of this country.  How Trump reacts to his illness should have NOTHING to do with the outcome of the election. Nothing at all. Not even a little bit.

This man is not fit for office. Getting covid and surviving it is not going to suddenly make him fit for office. Frankly, there is nothing that could make him fit to hold office, we all know that. He lies, he cheats, he bullies, he steals, he corrupts, he ruins. It is the story of his life.

Nothing on this earth can make him fit for office, so it is trivial for "both sides" people to make comments like Smerconish did. He wants a horse race to the end so he can have interesting Saturday morning shows.  What he should say is "it is unimaginable that we would ever return Trump to office for four more years".  That is what everyone should say, but some people can't leave it at that, they have to be "fair" to both sides.

Who has Donald Trump ever been fair to ?

How about this?  Trump gets the COVID and the news cycle is dominated by Trump and his COVID.  What about the firefighter, police officer, father, mother, grand parent, child, soldier,

teacher, Doctor, Nurse, pizza delivery person, grocery clerk, restaurant worker and everyone else who got this thing----and those thousands who perished.  What about them?

And this too.  What in the hell is happening in Belarus, Syria, Africa, Asia and even those dudes recently arrested with their political robo call scam, not to mention the guy arrested that

shot those police officers?

So Trump gets the COVID and the world just stops?  Really?

And allegedly if Trump recovers the Stock Market will respond positive?  Why?  What difference could that make?

Besides even poor Donald can't continue to lead with his skin. What do we do with the next pandemic or worse crisis, say climate change. We need a leader who can empathize with the sufferings of the common people. This is likely why this nation elects leaders who 'come up through the ranks' and not just 'flop down' from the top echelon of the social scale!

Smerconish is addressing the 'myth' that is cunningly building around Trump the Covid Slayer. The tale of how Donald Trump met up with 'Covid' one day and night and volunteered to take new medical cocktails into his body; he drank them down and returned to leading the nation out of despair: Cure raised high in triumph!

'Savior' of the conservative party and his hospitalized afflicted friends and the nation!

This is at the heart of Smerconish's musing about "both sides."

However, Donald and Melania, both, and the entourage, will have pre-existing conditions for the duration of 2020 at the least. The country should take this situation as a warning to look for proper (fit) leadership.

The next pandemic we can't afford another x thousands of deaths waiting for the 'clueless' to have a  Damascus Road turn-around. We simply don't have the disposable number of innocents to readily supply!

Our hapless sick, dying, and dead already from this pandemic are crying out from the grave for justice, because their lives where lifted from them in-artfully and the rest of the nation masked and incapacitated for months because of a leader who could not be persuaded to lead us out harm's path!

No! No! We do not need 'Donald the Myth.' We need leadership that can be simply persuaded to follow justice, humanity, and truth through whatever path it takes us!

There's nothing wrong with him. He's not saying anyone should vote for Trump. It's just an analysis of the situation with a proposal for something that could happen in the future. He's not rooting for it to go down that way.

I don't care if he's rooting for it or not.  There are not two sides regarding whether or not Donald Trump is fit to hold office, unless the United States is one of the worst countries on earth. He is a liar and a crook, and his word means nothing. If he says something 100 million people automatically assume he is lying.  His presence is responsible for a great deal of what is pulling this country apart. I don't want to hear about what things might help him win re-election, and it is irresponsible of Smerconish to do so.

Obviously 63 million Americans disagree with you, so there are two sides.

If he says something 100 million people automatically assume he is lying.

You do know that a similar number of people make similar assumptions about Democrats, yes?

I don't want to hear about what things might help him win re-election, and it is irresponsible of Smerconish to do so.

So you only want news analysis that makes you happy? I would have thought CNN would be that channel.

Some people thought Jesse James was a Robin Hood. He was more of a domestic terrorist.  There are no "two sides" about Trump's fitness for office, unless known liars, crooks , bigots, morons, and cheats are considered fit for office now.

Several Biden lies have been well documented. He committed plagiarism in law school. He tells other people's life stories as if they were his own, or just invents things about his own life that aren't true. He has also boasted about working with segregationists and made condescending, racist remarks about Obama when he was first running for office.

By your own standards, Biden is not fit for office.

I wonder if Trump is saying "I've looked at the virus from both sides now..."  and how that might change his stance on it.
