Trump plans to outshine Biden on Inauguration Day with opposing rally: report.....plans to skip the swearing-in ceremony of his successor

A new report from Axios claims that President Trump is considering a dramatic White House departure that includes a final Air Force One flight to Florida where he will host an opposing rally during Joe Biden's inauguration.

"The Trump talk could create a split-screen moment: the outgoing president addressing a roaring crowd in an airport hangar while the incoming leader is sworn in before a socially distanced audience outside the Capitol," Alayna Treene of Axios wrote.

People familiar with the discussions told NBC News that Trump plans to skip the swearing-in ceremony of his successor and that he has floated the idea of a Florida rally to announce a 2024 bid to reclaim the White House.

Trump said last month that he would leave office if the Electoral College votes for President-elect Joe Biden , but also alleged “massive fraud” in the vote count and promised to continue with his legal battle.

Asked if he would consider running again on the Republican ticket in 2024, Trump said at the time, “I don’t want to talk to 2024 yet.”

The Trump campaign did not respond to Fox News' request for comment.

This news should surprise no one.  Trump is addicted to people paying attention to him, and his cult member followers are addicted to giving him that attention.

It is long past time for everyone else to acknowledge that some Trump supporters are easily the biggest problem this country faces in the coming years. The problem cannot be addressed if the people of this country (let's call them "moderates" ) refuse to recognize the problem.

I think there is some chance that he will be persuaded to have this rally either the day before Biden's inauguration or the day after, out of the idea that he should observe some shred of decorum, but a day one way or the other won't matter. It still an attempt to steal Biden's glory.

Trump can't steal President Biden's thunder, only Joe can give it away. Joe, do you appropriately and accordingly-and you and Jill go in the White House and close the doors.  Don't even dignify that loser who couldn't cope.

There was a time in America's long ago history when the American media had integrity and very little bias.  I can recall a situation where FDR, on crutches, fell while coming down the steps from an airplane.  Every media photographer who was there LOWERED THEIR CAMERAS, refusing to take a picture of that incident.  Today something like that would be on the front page of every newspaper world wide.  If the media had ANY integrity whatsoever, and I know they don't, they would REFUSE to broadcast a Trump rally held on Inauguration Day.  But we all know they would damn well do it.  Fuck integrity.  Just ONE of the reasons I wish I could be beamed back to the early 1950s.

With all that orange face paint - he can outshine a lighthouse most days - but without the power of the government behind him he'll just go back to being a richer version of Alex Jones.

He has the right wing media behind him and the power of social media behind him, and that is all he needs. It is foolish to think that Trump's visibility will recede. It will recede when he either goes to prison or gets sick and dies.

John, you mean that Trumphole won't even respect former president's 'quiet time'?  Joe will need to just ignore all the dumbshit Trumphole does and tries. Just ignore that 'talking' ignoramus.

In other who gives a fuck news.

Do you want Trump present for Biden being sworn in? Does Biden? Do the TDS driven Democrats in Congress, and at every level of government, want him there? How about the millions, and millions, that voted for Biden- do they want him there?

Maybe they can placate Pence and his wife to show up; but after the way they have been treated for the last 5 years by the TDS driven left- don't count on it.

As for Trump; he is doing absolutely nothing illegal. He is getting another rent free day in the TDS driven lefts' minds is all. Not that he needs it, for the next 4 to 8 years all we will be hearing from the left and Democrats is "But Trruuummmmppppp!!!!!!"

Anyone that thought Biden winning the election would end the TDS sufferers pain was 100% wrong.

Almost every other president has observed the peaceful transition of power from himself to his successor. That is why Trump should be there. But this surprises no one who has observed Trump. The upsetting thing is that so many fools will continue to follow this clown.

Again, who really gives a fuck what Trump does- outside the TDS driven left?

Some of us were over Trump a long time ago. I didn't vote for Trump or Hillary the first time around. I didn't vote for Trump this last time either; I was voting against Democrats- that whole lesser of two evils thing.

Since Biden winning the election there seems to be even more TDS driven furor than normal from the left and media.

Get over it. If Trump was planning on attending the Biden swearing in; you would be upset about that as well. The quicker the left stops giving Trump the spot light the quicker he will fade away.

So?

150 million Americans voted. Why would your vote interest anyone, any more than any of those others?

Any true American patriot.

Some of us were over Trump a long time ago.

Then why do you keep showing up here to defend him?

Since Biden winning the election there seems to be even more TDS driven furor than normal from the left and media.

Have you paid any attention to what Trump has been doing since he lost?  It is a textbook example of a coup attempt.  A stupid, incompetent, failing, coup attempt, but a coup attempt nevertheless.

If Trump was planning on attending the Biden swearing in; you would be upset about that as well.

It is just another example of baby Trump throwing a tantrum.

This is a no-brainer.

Biden must invoke the pandemic, and conduct a low-key ceremony, including a significant tribute to all those who have died from Covid-19.

Spotlight the contrast between Trump's callous bombast and Biden's restraint.

Right, like the leftist lemmings celebrating in the streets w/o masks and social distancing after Biden won.

Rules go out the window for Democrats and their followers.

When you talk about lemmings I would certainly consider the 70 million republicans that are still following the Liar in Chief and believing that he won the election and also showing up to his rallies (GA) with no face masks or social distancing.

I guess that drinking the kool-aid made them super lemmings.

With the flourish of the 'dim flair'.

The man of 'the coiffured hair'.

For the last time rides the taxpayer's plane to his Florida lair.

Whereupon his greatness to a dejected/adoring throng he will share.
