Trump Plans To Stiff Giuliani On Legal Fees After Failing To Steal Election

President Donald Trump, infamous for refusing to pay his bills, is reportedly seeking to avoid paying his personal attorney and top enabler, Rudy Giuliani, the legal fees he owes the lawyer who spent months fruitlessly attempting to help Trump overturn the election.

The Washington Post and New York Times report that Trump and Giuliani's relationship is souring and that the President has ordered aides to withhold any payments to the attorney.

Trump is reportedly displeased with Giuliani's eye-popping price tag of $20,000 per day for his services and with some of the ways the lawyer attempted to fight the election results in the swing states his client decisively lost to President-elect Joe Biden.

Additionally, the White House is now rejecting Giuliani's calls to Trump, according to the Times.

If Trump does ultimately refuse to pony up, at least Giuliani could still say he got something out of working for the President: stellar treatment for his COVID-19 infection last month.

Giuliani's legal services in Trump's anti-democracy crusade consisted of filing failed lawsuits based on bogus conspiracy theories and holding an absurd press conference at small landscaping firm "Four Seasons Total Landscaping" in the middle of nowhere.

News of Trump's estrangement from Giuliani comes amid the fallout over the President encouraging his angry supporters to storm the Capitol after his "Stop the Steal" rally on January 6, during which he fed his followers lies about the election being fraudulent. The siege resulted in Trump's second impeachment by the House.

Giuliani was at the rally as well, where the lawyer urged Trump fans to "have trial by combat."

I imagine Rudy knows a lot of dirt on Trump. But now that Trump's already been impeached for a second time and is the most disgraced president in US history, Rudy's dirt on Trump has lost some of it's worth.

Learning verifiable dirt on that pile of garbage will never lose its worth.  Ever.  The American public deserves to know everyshadydamnthing Trump has done.

The reason Rudy was basically able to name his price, is because Trump had no intention of paying any price.

In his defense, if you'd hired Rudy for the last month+, would you want to pay him???

Well, more of a dine 'n' waddle while throwing other patrons behind him to block any pursuers... I'm pretty sure "dashing" is impossible for that tub of lard.

Rudy Four Seasons should have known better, Trump will stiff anyone so he should have got the money upfront.

What a dumb ass.

C'mon, people!

Stiffing a lawyer is God's work...

Oh and... Rudy was charging $ 20 000 per day. I can understand that someone might think his results aren't worth it.

Lol, this is fantastic! I don't know what he has to do to prove to his supporters that he is a complete fucking snake and will screw over anyone and everyone the second he thinks it is to his advantage.

As for Rudy, he deserves this and so much worse, i hope Dominion ruins him financially.

After embarrassing himself in court on Trump's behalf, I wouldn't pay him either.  Rudy came off like a first year law student before the judge.  Also, Rudy knew Trump's history of stiffing people and he still signed on, so screw him.  He is not worth 20 grand a day anyway.

Quintessential Trump.

I am really surprised that Giuliani did not realize how this would go.   No way was he going to prevail in Trump's con job.   And when Trump loses, no way will Trump pay because he will of course blame everyone who worked for him and deny them payment because their jobs were not satisfactory.

How many times must Trump do this before people catch on that he will use them and then discard them??

Serves you right Rudy.   You were an agent who did damage to your nation and it is fitting that you have now trashed your credibility for nothing.

Has anyone checked into the validity of this story?  $20,000/day seems pretty excessive.

According to this article in the NYT back in mid-November Rudy claims he did not ask for that much and that it was Trump's campaign people who said he did, and the article indicates that his aides and advisors were the ones who were going to refuse to pay him that much, not Trump.  Indeed even the recent articles in the NYT indicate that it is the same White House officials now blocking Giuliani's calls for the President.

The request stirred opposition from some of Mr. Trump’s aides and advisers, who appear to have ruled out paying that much , and it is unclear how much Mr. Giuliani will ultimately be compensated

Reached by phone, Mr. Giuliani strenuously denied requesting that much.

“I never asked for $20,000,” said Mr. Giuliani, saying the president volunteered to make sure he was paid after the cases concluded. “ The arrangement is, we’ll work it out at the end .”

He added that whoever had said he made the $20,000-a-day request “is a liar, a complete liar.”

Aside from the fact that Giuliani calling someone else a " complete liar " is fricken hilarious, this does seem to cast at least some doubt on the accuracy of the TPM article cited in this seed.  Although it would not surprise me if it is true.

Hard to imagine a more gullible scenario than to have a verbal ' we will work it out in the end ' deal with Trump.

However, I can see Trump seeing $20,000 a day as worth it if that was payment for him to steal a presidential election.   That would be cheap given what he was attempting to secure.

Given Giuliani failed to realize Trump's national con (as if ...), I expect he will be hard pressed to get a dime from Trump.
