Any Blues Fans Out There in NT Land?
I've been a Blues fan for most of my life and have a fairly extensive collection of Blues by many different artists. The entire collection of Robert Johnson is part of it.
Here is the Blues Band, Indigenous playing Red House followed by Skyler Wolf doing Devils Son.
Please add your favorite Blues artist, group, or song.
NO POLITICS JUST THE BLUES.
My compliments to INDIGENOUS!! So young, so talented!!
Grew up playing Motown and the blues on bass and guitar. My band played my own 8th grade graduation dance back in 67. Been in the music business off and on ever since. My favorite movie is The Commitments. Saw the band live and got a few kisses from Angeline Ball backstage at the Uptown Theater in KC (a high point in my life).
Do you currently live in MO?
Own homes in Colorado and Kansas. None in Mo.
I lived on Table Rock Lake for six years.
(used to have a time-share in the Ozarks that I luckily dumped)
Bought a ranch and live in the land of Jayhawks these days.
I JUST WANT TO MAKE LOVE TO YOU- Muddy Waters
My power blues band backed up Muddy in Boulder back in the day.
He toured on the cheap; hiring the best band in town as backup wherever he played.
Michael Finnigan has been a good friend for many years.
Bought my Ampeg SVT from Dave Hope of Kansas. (still own it)
Sold pot to most rock stars at Caribou ranch.
Damn I miss the old days!!
This one is for you JR. The Great Robert Johnson, ''Sweet Home Chicago''.
Thanks. Love that song.
The way that the song and video go together is fantasic.
TOBACCO ROAD - Junior Wells
Possibly the greatest Bluesman ever, the father of the Delta Blues, Charley Patton.
I was more involved with Folk Music, and even if The Blues can be considered a form of Folk Music, it wasn't my genre.
Roy Hawkins - The Thrill Is Gone (1951)
I don't know much about this particular genre', but once I started listening, it was difficult to stop. In addition, I have this insane urge to stay in bed all day and eat chocolate fudge frosting straight out of the can. Is that normal?
If you're a Blues fan then yes it normal as are many other things considered a bit ''off''. That's the wonderful thing about the Blues.
My memory sucks! How could I forget Billie?! Every year driving to our summer cabin in Colorado, we listened to Billie Holiday. In fact, it wasn't considered a vacay until we heard at least 1 track.
sure...
But I forgot about Billie!!!!
Old age is for sissies.
Seems we all here are dealing with it in one way or another.
LOL, I meant to say that Old age ISN'T for sissies.
Never, for a second, did I think that of you.
The great B.B. King. He said this was his greatest live performance.
OHHHH that is good stuff. I had never seen it before. The great control BB King has over his voice to just pour a note out their like 'molasses.' And the humor. This reminds me of growing up and walking past those 'holes-in-wall' with loud, blasting jukeboxes and liquor in the evenings. BB King was All The Way "LIVE."
The Walking Blues has been done by some of the real great such as Robert Johnson and Son House. There is the latest version with Keb Mo.
The GREAT Taj Majal
Since you mentioned him:
James Cotton
Aretha Franklin - Ain't No Way (Official Audio)
You just have to plant yo' feet and testify!! Many days and many nights! Heyyyy!!
Love this woman.
Girl, you betta put your heart into it then!!! Peeled the paint off the walls! REMARKABLE.
Al Kooper's BS&T version from 50 years ago is better, but I'll put this one up as a nod to a later generation.
I LOVE YOU MORE THAN YOULL EVER KNOW - Amy Winehouse
I can't believe it's been 10 years since her death. What an incredible talent she was.
IM NOT ASHAMED TO SING THE BLUES - Diane Schuur
THE RIGHT TIME - Ray Charles
Micki Free, Black Mojo Coffee
Lots of great music on this page. My brother introduced me to Texas Blues a few years ago, haven't stopping yet.
You'll love this one. Eric Clapton and BB King, Riden' with the King.
BUSTED - Ray Charles
Take me out, of the driving rain
.
My favorite of his,
.
Luther Allison "LIVE "Bad news is coming full version
Proudest father and son combo 'ever'!!!

He leaves the stage and goes into the 'coat room' playing!!! Crowd pleaser. His father is Luther Allison!
Zakiya Hooker - Angel Of The Blues
Meena Cryle - It Makes Me Scream
The Rolling Stones - What A Shame (Official Lyric Video)
Thanks all. The blues live on.
Am a member of the KC Blues Society
Walter Trout Band (Live at Paradiso): When you love somebody
Gary Clark Jr is one of my faves..
DYING TO LIVE - Edgar Winter
No Blues article can be complete without one of the true greats of Blues, John Lee Hooker. A great version of In the Mood with another great blues lady, Bonnie Raitt.
What could be better? John Lee Hooker with Eric Clapton and the Rolling Stones.
The great Buddy Guy, listen to the words, powerful.
Nappy Brown / That Man
Samantha Fish,
Darn it that's good stuff! Loved the "No Angels" especially . . . and she is wearing heels! I don't usually comment on (women's) appearances unless they are stand-outs in a particular way. This lady gets it all done 'well'! I enjoyed this set immensely.
Okay! I try to post videos that will play "in here," this one is not having it. It is too 'hot' to leave out of the calling, nevertheless! So here's a link:
