As a Fox News crew headed by reporter Bill Melugin reported on a stream of border crossings in Del Rio, Texas, the camera crew caught an additional stream of migrants suddenly appearing on the other side of the border. That group, which appeared to be another family unit, then waded their way across the strong current of the river, with some seen crying, and turned themselves in to authorities on the U.S. side of the border.

"We saw a man at the top of the hill over there scouting the area out. It's something we've seen happen every single day," Melugin said. "Typically, a couple of minutes after that, the vehicles pull up, and folks get out. You are seeing it happen again right here. It looks to be probably another family unit crossing the Rio right now, and again, they're doing it every single morning that we've been here. You can see they aren't trying to run away. They're not trying to hide. They are literally just presenting themselves here to local law enforcement."

Melugin also asked a group of migrants where they came from, with all the migrants indicating they were from Venezuela. Migrants were then seen lining up to be processed by authorities, with officials separating the groups between family units and individual adults.

"Believe it or not, this is actually the third day in a row that we've witnessed the exact same thing you're seeing here happen here," reported Melugin. "This is the largest group we've seen so far, a group of 52 migrants that just crossed the Rio Grande. … Almost all of them are Venezuelans. Yes, Border patrol is here now, along with local sheriff's deputies and state troopers. But again, this is the biggest group we've seen do this, the third day in a row. This has been happening every morning we've been out here in Del Rio. Every day, most of these migrants have been coming from Venezuela and Cuba."

VOTERS UNHAPPY WITH BIDEN HANDLING OF BORDER CRISIS, POLLS REVEAL

Melugin also noted that people seeking asylum from places such as Venezuela and Cuba are more likely to be granted asylum claims.

The video comes as the Biden administration has continued to struggle with the surge of migrants attempting to cross into the United States, with the government now housing about 25,000 unaccompanied migrant children at crowded border facilities.

The administration has also downplayed the situation at the border, resisting characterizing it as a "crisis" and instead focusing on the humanitarian issues many of the migrants are facing in their home country.

But the scenes from the border in Texas paint a different picture.

"We hear the administration saying the border is getting under control. We heard DHS Secretary Mayorkas say on Friday ... that 'the border is closed.' Local law enforcement here will tell you, 'No, it's not.' They will tell you this is a crisis. This is something we've seen happen every single day. Del Rio sector extremely hot, averaging more than 700 apprehensions every day in the last week. Border patrol ... have apprehended more than 5,000 migrants. Very busy in Del Rio and happening along the U.S.-Mexico border. A lot of frustration down here on the ground," Melugin added.

The non-crisis at the "secured" border continues on unbated.

I wonder if Biden is aware?

Rio Grande City Border Patrol agents apprehended 2 groups totaling 276 illegal aliens.
The groups crossed the Rio Grande almost simultaneously, over 30 miles apart. The majority consisting of family members and unaccompanied children.

Some folks refuse to acknowledge any crisis on the border.

Some folks are still busy blaming Trump.

Some folks think Harris will be able to solve the problem.

LMAO!

Same thing is happening here in Cochise County in SE Arizona on the AZ/Mexico border, but for some reason Texas gets the majority of the coverage. My late wife used to say Cochise County has more holes in it than her favorite pasta strainer.

Yep. Many cross illegally first. When it looks like they are not going to be able to run from the Border Patrol or are simply too tired and hungry, then they approach the first agents they see and surrender themselves.

So they are following US laws for asylum seekers.  Sounds good.

Hello! Read the very first sentence of post #1.3.2 where is specifically states they crossed the border illegally. I have spoken to numerous CBP field agents and every one states they are still in the country illegally whether they ask for help from the CBP or not. In fact, by US law they are required to ask for asylum at the closest US consulate to the border or the closest manned border crossing.

And, as usual, after being shown to being utterly wrong, you are bailing.  This wasn't the 1st time I have posted Asylum law for you, and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Of course Biden and his handlers are aware. The Democrats have been planning this since their primaries. They knew exactly what was going to happen when they started ringing the illegal immigrant dinner bell; and they are still ringing it.

No matter what they are publicly saying, their actions are telling all illegal immigrants that the border is wide open for business; and they are continuing to come.

Before the next presidential elections look for the Democrats to press for full blown amnesty. They will claim the millions of illegal immigrants within the country are over taxing our infrastructure; draining our government resources at the local, state, and federal level; and not paying nearly enough in taxes. The only solution will is immediate citizenship for any illegal within the US at the time so they come out of hiding. The Democrats instantly secure 40 to 60 million new voters completely dependent on the government. Even if they lose the Presidency their calls to do away with the electoral college will become even louder.

It’s become the Old Faithful of American politics: Every two or three years, there’s a crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. It follows a predictable script: White House aides shy away from the term “crisis,” lest it suggest they’re to blame. Leaders of the opposition party repeat the term ad nauseam, spreading the perception of a crisis through sheer force of will.

Right now, the number of unauthorized immigrants crossing the border is lower than it was in the early 2000s. It’s lower than in 2019, as President Joe Biden was sure to note in his news conference on Thursday. Is there an immigration crisis? Yes. An asylum crisis? You bet. A border crisis? Sort of.

The finger-pointing and hyperbole has been going on for decades.

Nov. 2020 Blind Survey Affirms Lean Left Rating

After analyzing the results of our November 2020 Blind Bias Survey, in which 2,285 people across the political spectrum blindly rated Politico’s content, AllSides found our Media Bias Rating™ of Lean Left for Politico was affirmed.

The results signified near universal agreement of Politico’s bias on average. The average rating for Politico across all respondents was a firm Lean Left. The average rating for Politico from each bias group — people who identified themselves as Left, Lean Left, Center, Lean Right, or Right — was also Lean Left.

A plurality of respondents across all bias groups rated Politico as Lean Left. The second most common response across all groups was Left — except for people who rated their own bias as Left. For this group, the second most common response for Politico was Center.

I have addressed the immigration issue - especially the one discussed in this thread - so many, many, many times - to the angst of the folks who want open borders, free medical, housing, meals, transportation for the ILLEGAL ALIENS.  Unfortunately, there are only a few who actually have first hand knowledge/experience with the ILLEGAL ALIEN encroachment in our SW territories and those who don't, don't give a shyte about our thoughts - only theirs because, as we all know, those with the experience, don't know what the futch is really happening.

The news stories being published about the ILLEGAL ALIEN issue, for the most part, are true, accurate and, unfortunately, continuous.  We, who live down here, are sick and tired of being treated so nonchalantly by those who haven't the foggiest idea of what we go through on a daily basis nor, do they even have the foggiest idea of what the CBP is actually faced with on a 24/7/365 basis.

The BS handed to us by the "Washington folks" is just that - BS, and this administration has literally screwed the pooch by not taking OUR word and the CBP's words/documentations/video presentations/eye witness accounts into consideration regarding the seriousness of the issues down here.  Hell, we're starting to see an increase in OPEN CARRY because of the influx of ILLEGAL ALIENS trespassing/stealing/their aggressiveness which is causing the U.S. citizens to become OVERLY agitated and irate.

When an ILLEGAL ALIEN tells a law enforcement officer that the officer can't do shyte to him BECAUSE BIDEN WILL PROTECT HIM and give him Refugee status - treading on an explosive relationship.

Every day, just down the road from us, we can see, personally, the ILLEGAL ALIENS crossing the border - EVERY DAY.  CBP is loaded with the excessive flooding - they don't have the manpower/funding/equipment/lodging/medical/etc., that the "Washington folks" are forcing them to over extend because of Washington's total failure at managing these issues.

And, no Pat, this isn't a "cycle" -  this is a complete increase in the ILLEGAL ALIENS crossing our borders that started on 1/20/21 - when the new administration took office.

One reason the number is lower is because, when they claim asylum, they aren't counted as "unauthorized" - per mandate from top the food chain.

My 14 CBP neighbors will gladly attest to the erroneous statement.

True - it has been an issue since the '70's (Milagro Bean War) - came to a head under Reagan with the Dems reneging on their "promises" to support Reagan's decision.  The crossing of so many ILLEGAL ALIENS began picking back up in the mid to late 90's and, when Biden's administration was telling plans, the border became pretty much wide open.

Really, which is the reason illegal immigrant crossings are at the highest they have been in 20 years? Unless Biden's Homeland Security Secretary is lying?

The United States is facing the biggest surge of migrants at its southwestern border in 20 years, the homeland security secretary said on Tuesday as the Biden administration races to handle an influx of children trying to cross the U.S.-Mexico border alone. The number of attempted border crossings by people from Central America and Mexico has steadily increased since April 2020 and most single adults and families are being turned away, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said.

Five abandoned migrant girls, all under the age of 7, were discovered Sunday by a Texas farmer on his land in Quemado, near the Rio Grande River.

Rep. Tony Gonzales, R-Texas, spoke with the farmer who said he found the "baby girls" hungry and crying. He said one was naked and was crawling because she was too young to walk.

Just another day on Biden's border
