HOTEL CALIFORNIA - EAGLES LIVE at CAPITAL CENTER 1977
About the song:
One of the most mysterious and widely speculated songs in rock history, “Hotel California” is best described in the words of its creators. As Don Henley explained in the Daily Mail dated 9/11/2007: (Cont'd HERE)
There is a Kokomo Charters in Sarasota, a Kokomo city in Indiana, a Kokomo in the Fiji Islands and a community named Kokomo in Hawaii. But the music video was filmed in Florida. The Beach Boys, with actor John Stamos on bongos, shot the video at The Grand Floridian before it officially opened.Sep 20, 2019
This song is not about any one specific place, but many! IIRC it was adopted as the official song of all the Club Meds in the Western Hemisphere.
P.S: My guess is that just about everyone is that video is stoned on something or other.... .
(Hauts les mains, la tradition du Club Med, depuis maintenant 70 ans Signes démentiels, danse du village, crazy sign : Inventeur de souvenirs depuis 70 ans).
You have to be from southern California, especially the LA area to remember this. The Midniters are one of the very first Hispanic (Mexican) bands and Whittier Blvd in ELA was cruzin heaven in the 1950s, 60s and 70s.
Sweet Home Alabama, Tulsa Time, Jackson, Joy to the World, Tallahassee Lassie, Waltz Across Texas and the Old Chisholm Trail are still on my playlists.
Hi there mocowgirl! Good to see you here again. Sweet Home Alabama is a favorite of mine as well. I lived with an Aunt in Mobile for a couple of years growing up.
How about Franki Zappa's "It Can't Happen Here"? "Here" is a place, isn't it? Problem is, it DID happen, but Frank's no longer around to see that it did.
