GREAT NO MORE: USA Basketball Keeps Losing on Biden's Watch - satire from Washington Free Beacon

The men's basketball team representing the United States, the country that invented the sport in 1891, lost a home exhibition game Monday night to Australia, a former prison colony. The humiliating 91-83 defeat was the USA team's second in a row after falling to Nigeria just days earlier.

The loss to Australia marked the first time a USA men's basketball team has suffered consecutive defeats in exhibition games since 1992, when NBA players were first allowed to take part in international competition. The fact that this historic failure occurred on President Joe Biden's watch raises troubling questions about the commander in chief's commitment to American greatness.

Under normal circumstances, which would include a sitting president who loves America, the USA men's basketball team should never lose a game. This year's team is stacked with NBA All-Stars and future Hall of Famers such as Kevin Durant, Bradley Beal, and Damian Lillard. By contrast, the Australian team that beat them is led by these guys:

The decline in American athletic achievement can be traced back to former president Barack Obama. His successor, Donald Trump, did his best to restore American hegemony in sports and succeeded on many fronts. For example, Trump helped golf legend Tiger Woods end his "Obama drought" with a stunning win at the Masters in 2019. That same year, Trump also oversaw the U.S. women's national soccer team's World Cup victory in France.

Alas, it would appear that Biden is intent on taking after his former boss, and has no interest in projecting American strength through athletic domination. Since taking office earlier this year, Biden has presided over a stunning display of American weakness across all major sports.

Golf : Tiger Woods suffered debilitating injuries in car crash; American players failed to win Masters, U.S. Open.

Tennis : Non-American Novak Djokovic has won every major tournament thus far; American women have failed to win a single major as well.

Hockey : Canadian team made the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2011.

Soccer : Men's team failed to qualify for the Olympics. Women's team failed to beat Sweden in friendly match.

Baseball : Toronto Blue Jays have a winning record.

Football : Trevor Lawrence, first overall pick in the NFL draft, looks like a freaking hippie.

IndyCar : Non-American Helio Castroneves won Indy 500 in car powered by Japanese engine.

This is some crazy shit, even by Trump-worship standards.

I just saw that too.

Oh well, it wouldn't have surprised me though if it was a 'serious piece' what with all the propaganda and bullshit and lies that certain posters post daily.

Oh this is conservative comedy. Ok, yes I did miss that. It sounded so much like the whining we hear constantly from the right that I took the story at face value.

Speaking of comedy

Trump had an accident after he got caught cheating at golf.

Conservatives’ attempts at being funny are rarely successful.  Adam Corolla is about their best hope.  Otherwise, it’s just a never ending loop of:

U.S. presidents don't "oversee" sports events.

If I didnt know this article came from a ridiculous far right website I would have thought it was from The Onion, although its not funny enough to be from The Onion.

If America can't tolerate being "second best" or just "losing" maybe that explains why it's so afraid of China.  Good sportsmanship means being gracious whether win or lose.

By the way - didn't the Lightning win the Stanley Cup?

Just let me re phrase that for you...

Australia and Nigeria have beaten the USA in basketball...

The USA was the dumping ground for British convicts starting in 1615.. well before Australia was discovered in 1788...

You mob need to read up on your history...

So another claim to fame by the US or a dark secret...no worries we won't tell anyone..

We love our convict history and I was so disappointed there were none in my rellies...

People don't get that, they think it is shameful, we think it is bloody brilliant...🐨🐨🇦🇺🇦🇺

So this started out as President Obama's fault - then the Turd Reich took over and made EVERYTHING ALL BETTER - until President Biden came along.

WTF is wrong with these people?
