Marjorie Taylor Greene Laughs When Asked If She's Responsible For Protecting People

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene  (R-Ga.) disturbed critics Tuesday when she burst into laughter during a reporter’s question about coronavirus deaths and her role in keeping constituents safe.

Greene held a press conference after   she was suspended from Twitter   for 12 hours for spreading COVID-19 misinformation. In tweets on Sunday and Monday, she falsely claimed that COVID-19 is not dangerous for people unless they’re obese or over age 65 and said vaccines shouldn’t be required.

Many people under age 65 have become severely ill or died from the disease. Currently, 99% of COVID-19 deaths are among the unvaccinated.

“Do you feel any responsibility for keeping people in Georgia safe?” a reporter asked during the press conference. “There are children, skinny people, who have died of the coronavirus. Do you feel any responsibility?”

Greene laughed.

“Tia, you crack me up,” she said. “You know what, I think people’s responsibility is their own. To read the information ― and it’s everywhere. You can’t go by any street corner practically and not see something about COVID-19. I believe in people’s own individual responsibility to read, to find out and to make their own decision.”

The reporter, who later identified herself online  as Tia Mitchell, Washington correspondent for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, followed up by asking the lawmaker if she believed in science.

“I believe in God. And of course, there is science,” Greene answered. “I don’t worship science or think that science rules everything. I believe that God rules everything.”

Mitchell said she asked the question after listening to Greene downplay the impact of COVID-19 on young people and those who aren’t obese.

Greene has persistently spread dangerous and demonstrably false theories about vaccines and COVID-19, even as the delta variant surges around the country and causes a new uptick in cases.

The lawmaker was widely criticized online for her inappropriate laughter during a question about the lives and safety of her constituents.

“Dead Americans? Cracks up laughing. The face of the Republican Party,” political commentator Brian Tyler Cohen   tweeted .

Health care advocate Peter Morley said Greene was a “DISGRACE!”

“Rep. Greene laughs re: “skinny people” dying of #COVID19 Followed by, “You crack me up,”   he tweeted . “MILLIONS have died globally from this pandemic. No one is laughing.”

Greene did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.

Not arguing that point and yes, as far as unvaccinated getting the disease goes, nothing has changed. No vaccine, slimmer chance of NOT catching it. To emphasize that point now seems a bit crazy. Of course the cases for the majority are going to be those not vaccinated.

Obviously ....... the poiint you are "glossing over" is how allegedly vaccinated people caught COVID and more distressing is how five of these vaccinated people, of such a small group of vaccinated people, all caught the COVID.   It's simply not statistically supported by the numbers being published by the government and Big Pharma.

I understand vaccine efficacy language quite fine.   I also understand the math that it yields.

The Pfizer vaccine for example is published as having a 95% efficacy rate after two doses for PREVENTING COVID-19 illness.   That efficacy number gets even higher when compared to unvaccinated people for survivability after being infected with COVID-19.   I haven't seen any published numbers for that but everything points to less severe sickness for most if vaccinated.   The point is in the math.   Based on the published numbers, it is more or less a statistical impossibility for five people in that small group people, all of whom are allegedly vaccinated, to have caught COVID-19.

Something is rotten in Denmark with this one.   My guess is they all weren't all vaccinated but that is only a guess.   Vaccination efficacy's could be bogus as well.   Regardless, the math does not add up.

Kind of like the "Christians that don't act like Christians only on Sunday" thing. Saying one cares for all others when in reality as long as they and theirs are fine, so are they. It's a "look at me" form of empathy. Not saying everyone is like that but I personally know some who are.

Do you have problems with people doing all they can to save at least their part of the world?

Absolutely not. I admire those who do what they can and what they have to to take care of themselves and the ones around them. I do it. Unfortunately I work with someone who either didn't know or care that they were infected and I and six others in the office caught Covid from her. And my experience was not a pretty one. If all you have is Harris, kind of a weak argument.

"Not all i have but it's enough.

That is if you truly are a thinking person and not just a brainwashed worker drone."

It certainly is all you have and it's pathetic.

There it is!  What about that hive mentality that the alleged conservatives adhere to?  Which you pin on the 'left'?

Greene laughs and it's heinous, Harris laughs and it's cute.

Right, because WHAT they are laughing ABOUT is irrelevant, right Sparty?

Did you want a run on masks to where health care workers would run out.

There was a run on masks where healthcare workers ran out.

Largely because the Obama admin didn't replace the supply after the Swine Flu epidemic.

There was a run on masks where healthcare workers ran out.

There were 'private donations' of masks shipped by the US government to China in FEBRUARY 2020. Those masks could have been distributed to US hospitals. It wasn't until APRIL that China started to ship masks to the US.

Largely because the Obama admin didn't replace the supply after the Swine Flu epidemic.

Per 3M, N95 masks have a 5 YEAR shelf life Sparty.

The Swine Flu started in 2009, 11 YEARS prior to Covid.

ANY replacement masks from then were EXPIRED by time Trump took office in 2017.

ALL of the N95 masks in the 2020 stockpile were dated from the Obama Administration.

In short, Trump failed to rotate and/or replenish the stockpile.

Obama's 2012 budget requested about a 60 million increase for stockpile funding, instead the Congress CUT funding by 10%. Oh and then there was the GOP government budget sequester.

Oh and BTFW, I suggest your READ the multiple Trump HHS budgets that continued to FAIL to increase funding for the stockpile.

Interesting take by a local radio host. Keep in mind, he calls both sides out when necessary His name is Vince Coakley for any naysayers.

He basically challenged Mr. Biden to be the bigger man and do what could be a major boost in vaccinations. I wish I could remember his exact words but in a nutshell he said

"Biden needs to step up and prove he is the bigger man and reach out to Donald Trump and invite him to the White House and enlist his help in getting the vaccine message out"

Vince is a smart guy.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you posted that on another seed.

Why the fuck should President Biden reach out to the Turd Reich?  Fuck trumpturd.

President Biden IS the bigger man.  The Turd Reich would never accept the invitation anyway - that big fat whiny bitch.
