Another progressive power play
"Regrettably, as the findings in the Report show, the investigators have directed an utterly biased investigation and willfully ignored evidence inconsistent with the narrative they have sought to weave form the outset."

I have no use for Governor Cuomo of New York, but he is absolutely right about one thing - the "findings" released by the NY AG are political rather than real charges. How can that be you ask?  There are no Republicans involved in this?

That is true, but one must understand New York politics. In New York there are only two meaningful political groups - hard core left democrats and moderate democrats. Please remember that State Attorney General Letitia James, after 11 months of investigating, has decided not the bring charges against Cuomo regarding "sexual harrassment." Instead she has released "findings" as bait for the NY State legislature to impeach Cuomo. Cumo is not going to resign because he has many allies in the State House and he has also appointed many judges in his time as governor.

Isn't it typical of progressives that the serious thing to them seems to be the sexual harrassment charges rather than the more important allegations that Cuuomo caused the death of so many in nursing homes early in the pandemic.

Late in the day yesterday Joe Biden who once said that if the allegations were ever proven Cuomo should step down, was asked about it. Biden seemed to act like the allegations had been proven and said "I think he should resign," though it clearly wasn't really the same as his position back in March when he said the democratic governor should resign if the AG investigation confirmed sexual harrassment claims made by multiple women. I don't think anything has been proven in Court, has it?

So that was the opnion of the top democrat?

This is probably what it looks like. They have somebody in mind to replace Cuomo.

I can only hope that once Cuomo realizes he's going down that he would be big enough to announce that he hasn't been accussed of anything different than what Joe Biden was accused of.

Democratic party big shots are calling for Cuomo to resign to make it look like they care about his victims. If they really wanted him out they would be calling for his impeachment, but not a one is.

They know Cuomo isn't going to resign nor do they want him to. It's all a political shit show that they know will blow over and Cuomo will run for re-election and probably win.

How do you investigate "credible charges" when the investigators do not even talk to the people making the charges????

Neither the accuser, not the suspect were interviewed during the course of this "investigation".

The Me Too movement 'seemingly' tossed due process out the window .. all it takes is the suggestion of impropriety to destroy some careers - just ask Al Franken..!    .. but others like Biden are given a pass to inappropriate touching .. Biden is on video being inappropriate .. only took a photo to take Franken done..  seems like accusations are taking Cuomo down

I do not care for Cuomo .. he ooozes cockiness, his daily updates during that initial COVID spike in NY were weird - but people across the nation could not get enough of him, wanted him to run for president etc ...  now he is guilty without formal charges or a trial ... such is the climate in todays America politics. .. speculation and innuendo rule the landscape ..?   not saying these women are lieing - far from it, but it seems any and everything can be interpreted as sexual harassment ...

Touch my breast without permission ya might lose a finger or 2 .. women have come a long way - but feeling powerless about unwanted advances needs some work .. remaining in a 'toxic' work environment makes no sense to me ..... trust me I know what a toxic work environment is all about, and I found a new job!

Cuomo's fall from grace is not very pretty and looks like it will only get worse - he now seems to be victim blaming a wee lil bit!

Good to see you Vic ... Peace

It's great to hear from you. You are not here enough. Your posts are based on logic & reason and I love how you kill 'em with kindness.

As for the "Me Too Movement", it kind of got hijacked by the left. It is true they started out by denying due process and it looked like they were going to use it against both parties, but it was destined to be short lived. The day Biden had an accuser it ended.

In the case of Cuomo. I believe the women and the families of those who died in nursing homes, but as you point out that is not due process.

As Mario Cuomo said "Politics is an ugly business."  Never more so than now.

As do I ... yet in the same breath sexual harassment needs to be addressed on a criminal level, no more committee investigations that are opinion based, the case needs to be proven .. look at Cosby, he is now out of prison because someone chose not to bring charges - yet someone else decided to bring charges .. thus creating a violation of rights and due process .. !

The nursing home deaths should be thoroughly investigated .. if there are not criminal charges to file .. then civil suits should be brought against Cuomo personally as well as against the state, county, city and the nursing home operators .. those deaths are akin to murder!

Thanks Vic .. but if I was here very often my logic might go out the window and I could possibly get sucked into making belittling or insulting comments to others that love to insult and stir the pot ..     : )

That is a weakness in American law. A technicality can change a case so drastically. Especially a case that has been proven.

I agree 100%. It's not going to happen. Merrick Garland won't do it. This is the era of the left. Some can get away with anything while others rot in jail for months without a trial. Our streets are unsafe and the nation overrun with migrants. Elections do have consequences.

One should never wave their right to a speedy trial .. I was watching a program where this man spent almost 2 years in lock up because the District Attorney kept requesting and getting extensions .. it takes money in this nation to get a fair trial [or so it appears to me] poor languish in something akin to a debtors prison while the rich bond out and walk free ....

Yes Vic .. elections have consequences ...  the saddest thing about said consequences is that the moderates are fleeing DC - the extremes on both sides are gaining power .. mid terms are coming, going to be interesting to see which direction the wind will be blowing

Thanks again VIc ... my best advice is to read their comment, consider the source .. then post your conscience .. there are some individuals you just cannot reply to, as regardless of what you post, the grade schooler in them will twist your words to suit their opinion... then the group assault begin once you try to defend your position ... vicious cycle ...

I can no longer be apart of that, the snark or the one line wonders, never taking part in any form of discussion .. just tossing insults and vitriol toward someone that 'they' do not even know, yet still judge based on their own bias...

Good afternoon lady. Hope all is good with you and yours up in the great Northwest.  Yeah, many years ago someone tried to touch my late wife in a inappropriate manner in a hardware store. She decked the guy over a paint can display, broke his jaw in two places, and dislocated one if his shoulders. The manager saw it all and called the police right away. The police said there was no need to charge me wife and said she acted in self defense. The perp tried to sue my wife when he got out of the hospital. The judge threw it out plus the DA refused to prosecute. Judge told the perp to leave town. My wife was normally a very mellow and laid back person and actually felt bad for the perp but said he should have known better.  This happened in the mid 70's.
