BLM's defense of Jussie Smollett exposes truth of the school CRT wars

The Black Lives Matter defense of Jussie Smollett is a good encapsulation of why parents are so upset about critical race theory and BLM ideology creeping into our schools.
You would think that Smollett faking a hate crime against himself for publicity would be an embarrassment, a farce that undermines the real victims of racism.
You'd be wrong. In a statement released Wednesday night, Dr. Melina Abdullah, director of BLM Grassroots and co-founder of BLM Los Angeles, called Smollett's trial a "white supremacist charade" that is "forcing" Smollett to face "judges and juries operating in a system that is designed to oppress us, while continuing to face a corrupt and violent police department, which has proven time and again to have no respect for our lives."
In the sneering confines of MSNBC and school board meetings, to question BLM or CRT is de facto racist. How can you oppose black lives? How can you disagree with teaching slavery in schools?
But progressive proponents have proved time and again this is not about those things.
BLMers don't want to make the police department or justice system more fair; they want to tear it down. "Policing at-large is an irredeemable institution," Abdullah writes. "Black Lives Matter will continue to work towards the abolition of police and every unjust system."
What would replace it? A utopia of community workers, they say. But we already see what the real result is: record numbers of murder victims — many of whom are young black men — in Democrat-run cities across the nation. Chicago, whose police Adbullah holds in particular vitriol, has seen 777 homicides this year — and 81 percent of the victims were black.
In the minds of BLM, and of writers such as Ibram X. Kendi and 1619's Nikole Hannah-Jones, America has not improved, and can't. Abdullah refers to BLM as "abolitionists," as if slavery never ended and the civil rights movement never happened.
Is the United States perfect? Of course not. But these activists go beyond saying racism persists and we must work for a better nation. They say fundamental institutions cannot be fixed and therefore must be destroyed.
Hannah-Jones argues that our nation was born out of slavery rather than the Continental Congress, that the Declaration of Independence was written, and a Revolution fought, primarily in defense of slavery. Neither is true, nor is the idea that modern policing has its roots in slave patrols, or that capitalism is inherently racist.
But as with the defense of Smollett, the facts don't matter. He's a black man, so he must be innocent. The system cannot be trusted.
This is what these activists want to tell schoolkids. It's not "teaching slavery," it's teaching Marxism. The police, the government, the economy, it all must go. BLM just said out loud what is hiding behind the slogans. Who is listening?

That’s exactly right! BLM along with CRT and 1619 propaganda are all about promoting and advancing such things.
Remember in the summer of 2020 when the naive young fools thought BLM was a good thing?
Some of them (and not just the young) still do believe BLM is a good thing. Heaven forbid they admit they were duped.
Naive young fools is too charitable a term for those people. Useful idiots is more like it.
Funny how the far left still screams "CRT is not being taught in the schools" even though there are countless examples where it is.....just under a different name.

Calling it American history is a misrepresentation. Once we get into the specifics of what's being taught is when progressives will find themselves in their usual position of defending the indefensible.

It's not if you are in anything below a 400 level college class. You may graze the concept a little bit in 300 level courses but you don't get into it at all in anything below that.

It is. I have seen the training that teachers in my town are taking so they can teach it to the kids.
Let google be your friend. If I find it for you then you will just complain about the source. If you are not afraid to find the truth then it is easy to find.

Yeah, I posted the WA ST laws directly linked to the RCW and the links to a Snohomish County education symposium that was explaining how to use the politically correct, legally mandated CRT slanted curricula here in Washington several weeks ago, and was roundly shouted down with the evidence right in front of them...
We have school teachers on the site here who know what is going on in every state of the union when it comes to education... The parents don't know crap according to them...
Heck it's the LAW in all state run schools in the State of Washington... From Kindergarten to Higher education and Trade Schools... Three Laws passed by the legislature and signed by the governuer....
ALL curriculae HAS to be CRT based... or you cannot teach in the State of Washington... the only place it isn't taught is in private schools... But if you take state money you HAVE to teach it...
How did that state become so radical?
Californians moving up here for lower priced housing... is the #1 reason.. It started in earnest about five years ago although it was going on quite a while before that... A thousand square feet in some parts of southern Cali goes for over a mil in an average neighborhood... That money up here will buy you 3,000 sqft in a gated community on a golf course on the rich side of town...About five years ago the #1 demographic was people moving in from from south... the last time I checked, the current #1 demographic is people moving out for the great inland territories due to the higher taxes and regulations and a marxist dictator for a goveneur ... The central Puget Sound/Seattle area is worse than LA...
ONE more thing, this state is a 100% mail in paper ballot state, so any chance of stopping it is dead on arrival.. Hopefully the radicals continue their transformation of this state into the socialist marxist hell they envision so the people actually wake up, but I have my doubts....
Those home robberies in the affluent sections of CA may just do the trick. There is nothing like an assault or robbery or home invasion to change one's view.
This has nothing to do with CRT.
