A couple months ago, I dropped out.
At the time,I was hasslingmore than conversing, and it got out of hand.
But as I told a member who contacted me a couple weeks later, I soon missed the contact with NT members. I haven't missed the hassle, but it's a pity to toss the baby with the bathwater.
I've stopped by several times since I dropped out, as I said I would. I've seen a few new names appear... and disappear. The "active" roster doesn't seem to have changed much.
I don't know if today's FP is significant, but Replies aregenerally... "well-mannered". Wow! I read almost all the seeds, and all their Replies.
Every day, I skim several hundreds ofheadlines in email subscriptions and RSS feeds. Most don't even get opened, but I probably read a few dozen articles every day: politics, economics, gadgets, cars, sports, ... Hey! I'm retired! It has been raining, so I can't mow the lawn... it's gonna be awful when the rain stops!
Among the articles that I do read, there are usually a few -- two or three every day -- that tickle my fancy, and make me want to share them. I send links to friends and family. But that's only a few people, and I remain frustrated. So... I changed my mind ...
What'll I do when some idiot vandalizes an article? Dunno. Close comments, or delete, I suppose. I'll burn that bridge when I come to it.
