I took this photo from our apartment window in Zhengzhou, Henan Province, about 5 or 6 years ago.  My caption for it at that time was "Bird's Eye View" .  Can anyone else create a different caption for it?

A number of years ago I posted on this forum this photo I had taken and asked if anyone could write a relevant poem about it.

The article drew 43 comments.  I doubt that this one will do anything close to that since these days there are issues that have greatly limited the interests of many NT members.

I think I'll do another one.  It's nice to have a break from the usual bad news.

It's hard to improve on the most obvious. How about surveying an urban jungle?

Noticed that this pigeon has been double banded is that common there or is that a domesticated pigeon?  Pigeons here are rarely tagged.

This stool pigeon has been banned from both Facebook and Twitter so it has resorted to being a poser on NewStalkers.

Of course he's banned from both Facebook and Twitter, he's in China.  Newstalkers hasn't been banned here yet although there are a couple of members who are trying their best to get it banned here.

It appears you live several floors up yet there are bars on your windows.  Is there something you’re not telling us, Buzz?  Apartment, or cell?

No egress window, safety measure to keep people from using it in case of fire since there is no fire escape there.

The window appears to be fixed in place, not operable.  Imagine if every upper floor window without a fire escape had bars on it.

Operable or not it is still glass and can be broken to escape a fire.  The window pane looks to be a simple double pane and not safety glass.

You think there was no fire escape?  "Vas you dere, Charley?" (Baron Munchausen)  It was a modern apartment building with multiple isolated interior fire escape stairs, not a tenement with outside escape stairs.  There were swing-opening windows in every room - the photo I posted was taken through an OPEN window.

Only if the person escaping was wearing a parachute.

LOL.  You can only see the lower part of the window. The bars are only waist high to prevent an accidental fall fhrough the window.

Less a caption than a short story in the making:
