Musk Shares a Nazi Meme and Then Tells Twitter to Vote Republican

Life comes at you fast. Six months ago, Elon Musk wrote , “For Twitter to deserve public trust, it must be politically neutral, which effectively means upsetting the far right and the far left equally.”
On Monday morning, weeks after buying the platform for $44 billion, he shared a meme featuring a Nazi soldier and then told his 115 million followers to vote Republican in Tuesday’s midterms.
“To independent-minded voters: Shared power curbs the worst excesses of both parties, therefore I recommend voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic,” he wrote .
Musk has faced criticism for firing roughly 50 percent of the company’s employees last week, including those responsible for monitoring disinformation days ahead of Election Day. The purge was likened by some critics to a Category 5 hurricane.
Musk, who in late 2021 surpassed Jeff Bezos in wealth with a reported net worth of $219 billion, has had a rocky start in his latest tech foray, blaming a recent “massive drop in revenue” on “activist groups pressuring advertisers,” rather than his own antics.
At a campaign event in Chicago on Friday, President Joe Biden called out the site after Musk shared—then deleted—a baseless conspiracy theory about the attack on Paul Pelosi, calling Twitter “an outfit that spews lies all across the world.”
But the new plan didn’t stop the thin-skinned billionaire from suspending comedian Kathy Griffin on Monday after she changed the name on her profile to Musk’s and encouraged people to vote Democrat.
“Going forward, any Twitter handles engaging in impersonation without clearly specifying ‘parody’ will be permanently suspended,” he tweeted.

Fucking hypocrite like the majority of today's republicans/alleged conservatives.
The NY Times shared a cartoon, then encouraged everyone to vote liberal. So?
So?
The CEO’s tweet on voting red garnered over 43,000 retweets and nearly 180,000 likes a couple of hours after posting. His Nazi meme, which used a photo of a German Wehrmacht soldier with a cage of carrier pigeons during the Nazi invasion of France, had about 14,000 retweets in the three hours after it was posted.
And the liberals can't stand that he is leveling the playing field. But why would they care, didn't they all move to Canada 4 years ago like they said they would? Fucking hypocrites.
The reason he posted the Nazi was to show people what they would be up against should the dems prevail. Simple as that. But, let's all get our panties wadded up. LMAO
The reason he posted the Nazi was to appeal to neo-Nazis and Fascists and to let them know that Twitter is open for their business.
Actually, the reason he posted the German soldier was to suggest that this is what we might end up with when only one party has all the power, be it left or right.
G squared is correct. You're wrong
What about this quote, which appeared with the photo, suggests that I am wrong?
Hello?
But the new plan didn’t stop the thin-skinned billionaire from suspending comedian Kathy Griffin on Monday after she changed the name on her profile to Musk’s and encouraged people to vote Democrat.
Kathy Griffin has to impersonate someone relevant for anybody to pay attention, it's pathetic watching this has been hack desperately trying to remain relevant. I honestly thought she died......and nobody cared.
Well let's see you try to pull that shit here and see what it gets you.
When Twitter was kicking out conservatives all the liberal were saying it was OK, they were a company and could do what they wanted. Now Elon suspends someone that is violating TOS and all the liberal heads explode. It is hilarious to watch.
Excuse me? Is that some kind of threat?
Is that all y'all have, deflection?
No FFS. You think it's okay for Griffin to pull that stunt without any repercussions on Twitter. All I said was try it here and see what you get. It would be more of the same. A major violation if not a temporary vacation.
No need to get pissy and whiny about it.
They were kicked out for violating the rules. Pretty simple concept.
Something some folks cannot seem to grasp.
Pissy and whiny? LMAO who wanted to interpret that comment as some sort of threat? Won't work this time.
Who's whiny now?
Seems accusing others of deflection is all some people here have. Know what I mean?
Keep trying, I have faith.
Oh, you mean like Kathy was and all the liberals are whining about. Different rules for different people?
You
Who made you hall monitor?
probably the same asshole that told him his oath to defend the constitution didn't apply if a democrat was POTUS...
She violated ToS. Musk put her into place. And here you are crying about it.
Maybe she can open a account on truth social?
musk made that rule after she did it...
His company, his rules.
Fuck Kathy if she can't take it.
Nope, that rule was already there. Nice try thought.
Did he say something that was not true?
thought? or did you mean though?
Man, that's a real toughie, huh?
Dev is correct. You are wrong, as usual
You are both wrong. That is ok, I am used to you being wrong.
I have faith you can figure it out. Give it some thought though.
Uh oh, you stirred up the NT mafia ....... scary!
They all come to the rescue of the lesser of their hive
Please....like you all don't do the same thing
I remember one Pearl Clutcher who left the place in tears because you all failed to protect her
Failed to protect her?
From what?
Hateful, ignorant, untrue comments?
We don't moderate here.
Sad thing is, she even stated we didn't protect her. Much the opposite goes on on the other side of the aisle as witnessed above.
When they are reduced to starting off with bullshit like calling someone names, what real credibility do they have?
used a photo of a German Wehrmacht soldier
Are we sure it wasn't the liberal hero Prince Harry?
but, but, but, what about...
Most Americans agree that is bad, But Trump has said he loves Stupid people, which often equals Nazis and democrats, as they are basically the same a lot of the time.
it's only taught that way in the civics classrooms of thumper madrasas...
Where and how have you accumulated so much info on them?
Any personal experience?
But, nowhere near as bad as the Republicans. Otherwise they would not worship a person as filthy and dishonest as Trump and his Mentor Putin.
The only people I see worshiping at the altar of trump is liberals, I guess that’s why they can’t stop talking about him. And everyone knows Obama was Putin’s 🐔 holster.
Is he pulling Obama off to save the dignity of the Presidency?
Liberal hero?
Haha He is an asshole and this 'Liberal' can't stand him.
And that one line set the left off. Looks like they don't actually want equality. They want only THEIR version of the narrative to get out.
Well, it's not much of a surprise that the Neo-Nazi's, white supremacists and white nationalists will be coming out to support Republicans as usual, that is the party they most identify with.

How Trump Brought Nazis Into Republican Politics (nymag.com)
Holocaust-denying neo-Nazis among the Trump supporters who stormed US Capitol | The Times of Israel
"Nine percent of Americans said holding neo-Nazi or white supremacist views is acceptable"
Survey: 9 percent call neo-Nazi views acceptable | The Hill
And 99% of those 9% almost certainly vote Republicans and worship Donald Trump.
Sure, it may not be the 'face' of the Republican party, but it certainly is its ever-present shadow.
Were those pictures from the last get out the vote rally that democrats had?
I've no doubt any one of those folk in the photos would want to punch you in the face for insulting their white Christian conservatism and doubting their loyalty to Trump and Republicans like that.
Well, I will take your word for that. You seem intimately familiar with the people and the movement.
I am. I grew up around them in Ohio and still have a lot of white Christian conservative family in Arkansas and there really is no doubt as to who those folk are and which political party they support. If someone is flying a confederate flag, a swastika flag or marching with tiki torches chanting "Jews will not replace us!" there is without a doubt about a 99% chance of them being a vocal outspoken supporter of Donald Trump and his Trumpublican party.
Why did Elon Musk buy Twitter and show his support for Republicans?
Step one was to take over Twitter.
Step two is to take over the Republican Party.
Step three is to take over the United States.
Step four is to take over the World.
I think you might be on to something.....
And he will accomplish this how?
And what do you mean by "take over"?
it's still for sale and it's had a lot of different owners...
Seems to be a popular liberal misconception.
