House Cleaning
“I made another promise to you last time. There was this Congresswoman Ilhan Omar,” McCarthy told attendees at a Republican Jewish Coalition event in Las Vegas on Saturday, eliciting boos from the crowd. “That’s a rightful boo,” he said. “I remember what she said about Israel. … I remember it so much. I promised you last year, that [when I am] speaker, she no longer would be on Foreign Affairs, and I’m keeping that promise.”

Speaker McCarthy fulfilled one of his promises and he united Republicans in the process. He ousted the bigot Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Relations committee. A fter a raucous debate, t  he Republican-led House voted yesterday to oust Rep. Ilhan Omar from the chamber’s Foreign Affairs Committee, citing her hate filled anti-Israel comments. It was all part of the new standard set by Nancy Pelosi, which now lets the majority keep rogue minority members off committees. Unlike what Pelosi did to Republicans, Omar can sit on other committees, just not the Foreign Relations Committee. The House saw the worst people in America go berserk. It was a complete meltdown by the squad:

I am so proud of Speaker McCarthy. Omar is a bigot and so is the squad. It should also be noted that leaker & liar Adam Schiff and traitor Eric Swalwell were also barred from the House Intelligence Committee.

The 218-211 vote, along party lines.

The Week:

Hunting Season:  Evidently, Hunter Biden's lawyers have decided to adopt an offensive strategy. They intend to go after people who first reported the existence of the laptop as well as the damaging items on it. Obviously, it is designed to intimidate people in the coming presidential campaign. If they were serious about suing these people, they would have to go to court and Hunter would have to become a witness and nobody, including Joe, Hunter or the woman who gave Hunter life would ever want hunter on the witness stand.

Chinese Spy Balloon:  There is an enormous spy balloon hovering over Montana. It's been there for days and supposedly the US military considered shooting it down, but were concerned about falling debris (over Montana.)

"The United States government has detected and is tracking a high-altitude surveillance balloon that is flying over the continental United States right now," Air Force Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder, the Pentagon press secretary told reporters. The North American Aerospace Defense Command continues to track and monitor it closely, Ryder said. The balloon is designed for surveillance, the official said. However, it likely is unable to collect more information than is available to spy satellites."

Chinese spy balloon spotted in American skies, Pentagon says. US weighed shooting it down (msn.com)

Coming together:   " Speaker   Kevin McCarthy   (R-Calif.) on Wednesday left a meeting with President   Biden   signaling optimism about the chances of an agreement between the White House and Congress to avoid a government default, though neither side made any commitments." “I don’t want to put any words in his mouth. We had an hour of conversation about this that I thought was a very good discussion, and we walked out saying we would continue the discussion,” McCarthy told reporters at the White House. “And I think there is an opportunity here to come to an agreement on both sides.”

A second request for information:  "The bipartisan leaders of the Senate Intelligence Committee demanded "immediate compliance" with repeated requests for a briefing on the contents of classified documents found at the residences of former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, according to a   letter obtained by CBS News  that was sent to Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines and Attorney General Merrick Garland on Thursday. The lawmakers also expanded their request to include documents found in the possession of former Vice President Mike Pence.  "Without access to the relevant classified documents we cannot effectively oversee the efforts of the Intelligence Community to address potential risks to national security arising from the mishandling of this classified information," the letter from committee chairman Mark Warner, Democrat of Virginia, and vice chairman Marco Rubio, Republican of Florida, said. "We urge your immediate compliance with our previous requests, which we now extend to those classified materials subsequently discovered at President Biden's home and the home of former Vice President Pence."

What Have We Learned?

The entitled lefties don't like it when they gety a good dose of their own medicine. They control the greatest levers of influence and power: the media, education, entertainment, and most of the federal government. Yesterday we saw what happens when their power is threatened. Taking an anti-Semite off the Foreign Relations Committee or even questioning the woke status quo and you get charged with racism. They have totally dilluted that word to the point that it no longer means anything. They can't even defend their intolerant, Marxist ideology. All they can do is to try and smear or attempt to intimidate their opponents. Ilhan Omar's words speak for themslves.

"China has announced its government is looking into reports that a suspected Chinese spy balloon was discovered flying in  U.S. airspace  over Montana.

"China is a responsible country and has always strictly abided by international laws, and China has no intention to violate the territory and airspace of any sovereign countries," said Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning during a daily briefing on Friday."

Anybody else remember Steve King?

King is an opponent of   immigration   and   multiculturalism , and has a long history of   racist   and anti-immigrant rhetoric and   white-nationalist   affiliations. [1] [2] [3]   The Washington Post   described King as "the Congressman most openly affiliated with white nationalism." [1]   King has been criticized for alleged affiliation with  white supremacist  ideas, [4]  made controversial statements against immigrants, [5] [6] [7]  and supported European  right-wing populist  and  far-right  politicians accused of racism,  anti-Semitism  and  Islamophobia . [8]

For much of King's congressional tenure, Republican politicians and officials were silent about his rhetoric, and frequently sought his endorsement and campaigned with him because of his popularity with northwest Iowa's voters. [3] [9]   Shortly before the   2018 election , the   National Republican Congressional Committee   withdrew funding for King's reelection campaign and its chairman,   Steve Stivers , condemned King's conduct, although Iowa's Republican senators and governor continued to endorse him. [9] [10]   King was narrowly reelected, but after a January 2019 interview in which he questioned the negative connotations of the terms "white nationalist" and "white supremacy", [11]   he was widely condemned by both parties, the media, and public figures, and the   Republican Steering Committee   removed him from all House committee assignments. Democrats seem to forget how House members talked about Trump and his followers.

In 2020, U.S. Rep. Harley Rouda, D-Calif., in a virtual chat with supporters, said he'd visited the National Museum in Berlin, where the displays noted that Hitler had come to power through an election and that he'd then begun criticizing minorities and the press. And now that's what Trump was doing, he said.

"I'm scared by it," he said. "I am scared that every single day we are taking one more step towards fascism."

› In 2019, U.S. Rep. Hank Johnson, D-Ga., told an NAACP gathering that "Americans, particularly Black Americans, can't afford to make [the] same mistake about the harm that could be done by a man named Hitler or a man named Trump."

It was one of several comparisons to Trump and Nazis he made during the speech.

› In 2019, in an interview with NBC News, U.S. Rep. James Clyburn, D-S.C., noted that he had previously brought up the rise of Hitler while discussing America's political climate.

"Adolf Hitler was elected chancellor of Germany," he then told NBC. "And he went about the business of discrediting institutions to the point that people bought into it. Nobody would have believed it now. But swastikas hung in churches throughout Germany. We had better be very careful."

› In 2019, U.S. Rep. Jerry Nadler, D-N.Y., said Trump had talked about immigrants bringing in drugs and being responsible for crime.

He then said: "This is the same type of propaganda that we heard in the 1920s and World War I against Jews. 'Jews are Bolsheviks. Jews are thieves. Jews are violent' -- that was the propaganda. ... Now, we're hearing it against this generation's immigrants -- and it's just as false now."

› In 2018 when asked about Trump proclaiming himself a "nationalist," U.S. Rep. Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y., said, "It reminds me of the kinds of words that came from people like Hitler, who thought that in Germany he was a nationalist, and the kinds of people that this president seems to like, and those who are repressive dictators, those are the individuals that generally use that kind of phrase and those kinds of words."

› In 2016, U.S. Rep. Seth Moulton, D-Mass., said the U.S. electorate should read up on how German people elected Hitler in the 1930s to gain a better understanding of how an educated society "can elect a demagogue."

Defensively, he added, "I'm not saying that Donald Trump is necessarily Hitler. I'm not saying that."

Such citations are legion.

Funny how Pelosi and Democrats removed Greene and other Republicans from all committees. While allowing human shit stains like the anti-Semite Omar and the Squad to serve.

Democrats don't want to live under the rules they created. Tough shit.

Speaker McCarthy fulfilled one of his promises and he united Republicans in the process. He ousted the bigot Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Relations committee.

And it was done using the very rules Democrats developed and used.  I think that is what has them pissed.  Their own tactics used against them - for the better of committee and country.

And despite what the loudmouth from New York tries to make everybody believe, it's not about Omar being a woman or about her race.  It's about her repeated anti-Semitic remarks.

House Republican leaders condemn GOP candidate who made racist videos

The candidate, Marjorie Taylor Greene, finished first in last week’s primary for an open, safe GOP seat in Georgia but still faces an August runoff.

The House’s highest-ranking Republicans are racing to distance themselves from a leading GOP congressional candidate in Georgia after POLITICO uncovered hours of Facebook videos in which she expresses racist, Islamophobic and anti-Semitic views.

The candidate, Marjorie Taylor Greene, suggested that Muslims do not belong in government; thinks black people “are held slaves to the Democratic Party”; called George Soros, a Jewish Democratic megadonor, a Nazi; and said she would feel “proud” to see a Confederate monument if she were black because it symbolizes progress made since the Civil War.

Greene finished first in a primary for a deep-red, northwest Georgia seat last week by a nearly 2-to-1 margin over the second-place candidate. She is entering an August runoff as the favorite to secure the Republican nomination for a district where that is tantamount to winning the general election in November. Her initial victory — which has sparked panic in GOP circles — comes as Republicans are grappling with a national reckoning over racial injustice and police brutality after George Floyd, an unarmed black man, was killed by a Minneapolis police officer last month.

Republicans had just felt relief after they finally ousted Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa), a controversial member with a long history of making racist remarks, in a primary earlier this month.

Now GOP lawmakers, aides and operatives fear Greene — a wealthy businesswoman who has already drawn national attention because of her belief in a trove of   QAnon ” conspiracy theories   — could create an even bigger black eye for the party if she wins the nomination. Greene will face neurosurgeon John Cowan in the Aug. 11 primary runoff.

“These comments are appalling, and Leader McCarthy has no tolerance for them,” said Drew Florio, a spokesman for House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).

House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (R-La.) went further, throwing his weight behind Greene’s opponent.

“The comments made by Ms. Greene are disgusting and don’t reflect the values of equality and decency that make our country great,” Scalise said in a statement. “I will be supporting Dr. Cowan.”

In recordings obtained by POLITICO, Greene described Islamic nations under Sharia law as places where men have sex with “little boys, little girls, multiple women” and “marry their sisters” and “their cousins.” She suggested the 2018 midterms — which ushered in the most diverse class of House freshmen — was part of “an Islamic invasion of our government” and that “anyone that is a Muslim that believes in Sharia law does not belong in our government.”

A dozen House Democrats publicly criticized their colleague Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., late Wednesday, accusing her of giving "cover" to terrorist and suggesting her remarks about Hamas and the Taliban reflect a "deep-seated prejudice."

“Equating the United States and Israel to Hamas and the Taliban is as offensive as it is misguided,” the group, led by Rep. Brad Schneider, of Illinois, said in a statement, urging Omar to "clarify" her remarks.

Omar initially responded Wednesday to her critics on Twitter by calling their statement "offensive" and defending her initial remarks, which she said were taken out of context. On Thursday, she responded to the letter by saying, "To be clear: I was in no way equating terrorist organizations with democratic countries with well-established judicial systems."

House leadership, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., issued a statement echoing the initial condementation saying "drawing false equivalencies between democracies like the U.S. and Israel and groups that engage in terrorism like Hamas and the Taliban foments prejudice and undermines progress toward a future of peace and security for all."

“We welcome the clarification by Congresswoman Omar that there is no moral equivalency between the U.S. and Israel and Hamas and the Taliban,” the statement from leadership said.

Omar's fellow "Squad" members voiced outrage at the Democratic lawmakers who'd criticized her.

"Pretty sick & tired of the constant vilification, intentional mischaracterization, and public targeting of @IlhanMN coming from our caucus. They have no concept for the danger they put her in by skipping private conversations & leaping to fueling targeted news cycles around her," Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., tweeted .

Rep. Cori Bush, D-Mo., wrote , "I'm not surprised when Republicans attack Black women for standing up for human rights. But when it’s Democrats, it’s especially hurtful. We’re your colleagues. Talk to us directly. Enough with the anti-Blackness and Islamophobia."

The statement by the group of lawmakers said that the U.S. and Israel are “imperfect” and are at times deserving of critique, “but false equivalencies give cover to terrorist groups.”

“Ignoring the differences between democracies governed by the rule of law and contemptible organizations that engage in terrorism at best discredits one’s intended argument and at worst reflects deep-seated prejudice,” the group wrote.

The statement by a group of Jewish lawmakers was a rare public display of the long simmering tensions over what some fellow Democrats have argued are anti-Jewish sentiments by Omar. The House previously voted in 2019 to condemn antisemitism in response to statements Omar made, but the resolution did not name her.

The latest incident was sparked Monday, when Omar posted a video on Twitter showing her questioning Secretary of State Antony Blinken in a video call about the U.S.'s opposition to the International Criminal Court investigating alleged war crimes in Afghanistan and Israel.

"We must have the same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity. We have seen unthinkable atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban,” she tweeted about her back-and-forth with Blinken on what alternatives would be available if the ICC does not investigate the allegations.

Yet she and the squad still served on committees under Pelosi's rule. McCarthy should have removed all of the squad from committee assignments- and barred them from serving on any other committees. That would be using the Pelosi standard!

What I want to know is how something as big as "three buses" was ever allowed to get near US air space. Much the less so deep within the country before being detected?

I remember when an airliner made it's way deep into Russian territory after it veered off course. The Russians were PO'd a the US and accused us of having cameras and spy technology on the plane. They were embarrassed as hell that anything made it that far into their territory. I am sure multiple military heads rolled over that gaff.

.

On September 1, 1983, Korean Airlines (KAL) flight 007 was on the last leg of a flight from New York City to Seoul, with a stopover in Anchorage, Alaska . As it approached its final destination, the plane began to veer far off its normal course. In just a short time, the plane flew into Russian airspace and crossed over the Kamchatka Peninsula, where some top-secret Soviet military installations were known to be located. The Soviets sent two fighters to intercept the plane. According to tapes of the conversations between the fighter pilots and Soviet ground control, the fighters quickly located the KAL flight and tried to make contact with the passenger jet. Failing to receive a response, one of the fighters fired a heat-seeking missile. KAL 007 was hit and plummeted into the Sea of Japan. All 269 people on board were killed. This was not the first time a South Korean flight had run into trouble over Russia. In 1978, the Soviets forced a passenger jet down over Murmansk; two passengers were killed during the emergency landing. In its first public statement concerning the September 1983 incident, the Soviet government merely noted that an unidentified aircraft had been shot down flying over Russian territory. The United States government reacted with horror to the disaster. The Department of State suggested that the Soviets knew the plane was an unarmed civilian passenger aircraft. President Ronald Reagan called the incident a “massacre” and issued a statement in which he declared that the Soviets had turned “against the world and the moral precepts which guide human relations among people everywhere.” Five days after the incident, the Soviets admitted that the plane had indeed been a passenger jet, but that Russian pilots had no way of knowing this. A high ranking Soviet military official stated that the KAL flight had been involved in espionage activities. The Reagan administration responded by suspending all Soviet passenger air service to the United States, and dropped several agreements being negotiated with the Soviets.

I can't imagine our military standards have slackened so much that there won't be a full investigation into why the balloon wasn't detected.

Do you you recall what happened when the world's foremost superpower flew spy missions over rogue states?

"An international diplomatic crisis erupted in May 1960 when the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) shot down an American U-2 spy plane in Soviet air space and captured its pilot, Francis Gary Powers (1929-77). Confronted with the evidence of his nation’s espionage, President Dwight D. Eisenhower (1890-1969) was forced to admit to the Soviets that the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) had been flying spy missions over the USSR for several years. The Soviets convicted Powers on espionage charges and sentenced him to 10 years in prison. However, after serving less than two years, he was released in exchange for a captured Soviet agent in the first-ever U.S.-USSR “spy swap.” The U-2 spy plane incident raised tensions between the U.S. and the Soviets during the Cold War (1945-91), the largely political clash between the two superpowers and their allies that emerged following World War II."

It not only begs the question on Chinese intentions, but why the US military let it glide along into our airspace, which is a violation of our sovereignty & international law. It could be argued that it is clearly an act of war. Presidential candidate Nikki Haley recently said that it should have been shot down. There is no doubt in my mind that the CCP would not have pulled this stunt when Trump was President.

He's your goto guy?

"Gordon Chang, author of "The Coming Collapse of China," famously predicted in 2001 that the Communist Party would fall from power in a decade.

When 2011 came with the party still firmly in the saddle, he confessed his mistake and said: "I admit it: my prediction that the Communist Party would fall by 2011 was wrong. Still, I'm only off by a year."

"Instead of 2011," he wrote in Foreign Policy magazine on Dec. 29, 2011, "the mighty Communist Party of China will fall in 2012. Bet on it."

As a result, he made Foreign Policy's "10 worst predictions of the year" twice in a row."

Proposed regulations to make them 3.4% more efficient.

Proposed regulation to make sure all new gas stove installations have a working hood that vents to the outside of the home.

As opposed to the 20 states that allow counties and municipalities to ban all new construction with natural gas heat, water heaters or ranges.

This isn't a new idea but it is gaining speed nationwide to replace gas appliances with electric ones.

Except in the 21 red states whose legislatures have already banned bans on gas ranges.

Democrats are going to be pushing whatabout narratives focused on 'white supremacists' to defend Ilhan Omar.  But those comparisons only serve to show who and what Ilhan Omar really is.  Democrats are casting Omar as a bigot among bigots.  That alone demonstrates what Democrats identity politics is really about.

You have a problem with that take it up with Queen Bitch Nancy Pelosi; since she is the one that made the rule to begin with.
