The ramifications of the South Carolina Primary
“Overwhelming results. It is the greatest political comeback in history. It doesn’t make sense!”...Alyssa Farah

Despite a lot of money from the Koch Network and a lot of democrat votes, Nikki Haley lost big to Donald Trump. As a matter of fact Trump received the most votes of any candidate in the history of the SC Primary. There are a few interesting things that are noteworthy.

First: The polls were very accurate in this contest. Polls had Trump defeating Haley by margins of from 58 to 60%. It is strange who correct the polling can be at certain times but not others.

Second: This puts Trump on track to wrap up the delegates needed for the nomination very soon. Haley won't be able to stick around for as long as she thinks. BTW the Koch group is going to stop funding her campaign.

Leftist media tried to play down the victory and I'm sure some here on this partisan site will.

In other news:

P resident Biden butchered one of Abraham Lincoln’s most famous lines while speaking to the nation’s governors over the weekend — after saying “I want to make sure I get this quote exactly right.”

“He said, ‘We — the better angels,” he said, ‘We must address the counsel — and adjust to the better angels of our nature.’”

“And we do the — and we do well to remember what else he said. He said, ‘We’re not enemies, but friends.’

“This is in the middle of — this is in the — in the part of the Civil War,” Biden continued.

“He said: ‘We’re not enemies, but [we’re] friends, we must not be enemies.”

America's greatest President & Statesman

It appears Biden was trying to quote from Lincoln’s first inaugural address in March 1861, in which he famously said: “We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies.

“Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection,” Lincoln told the divided nation.

“The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to everly living heart and healthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched — as surely they will be — by the better angels of our nature.”

Lincoln gave that speech in March 1861 — more than one month before Confederate troops fired on Fort Sumter, officially starting the Civil War — and not in the middle of the war, as Biden suggested.

After Friday’s  briefing by University of Georgia Police Chief Jeffrey Clark  announced the suspect in Laken Riley’s murder was not a U.S. citizen, politicians in Georgia were quick to decry federal immigration policies as contributing to her death.

Speaking forcefully on the matter, Georgia Rep. Mike Collins (R-Athens) said Riley’s death was firmly a responsibility of President Joe Biden and U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security  Alejandro Mayorkas .

“The blood of Laken Riley is on the hands of Joe Biden, Alejandro Mayorkas, and the government of Athens-Clarke County. The Venezuelan suspect in Laken Riley’s murder is one of millions of illegal aliens that the Biden administration has released into this country to be welcomed with open arms by Democrat-run sanctuary jurisdictions. This man had no business being in America, much less the UGA community to brutally murder this young American while she was on a run,” Collins said in part.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — A former FBI informant charged with fabricating a  multimillion-dollar bribery scheme  involving  President Joe Biden’s family  will appear in a California federal court on Monday as a judge considers whether he must remain behind bars while he awaits trial.

Special counsel David Weiss' office is pressing U.S. District Judge Otis Wright II to keep Alexander Smirnov in jail, arguing the man who claims to have ties to Russian intelligence is likely to flee the country.

The Venezuelan suspect in Laken Riley’s murder is one of millions of illegal aliens that the Biden administration has released into this country to be welcomed with open arms by Democrat-run sanctuary jurisdictions.

But the left tells us that crime involving Illegals is down and they are all peaceful "asylum seekers".

As I like to remind them, the minute someone enters the country illegally, they have committed a crime.

100% of illegal migrants have committed a crime.

By the way, any comment on the reports of some Democrats who state they will refuse to certify the election should Trump win?

It’s so predictable.  The more hysterically they attack a behavior, the more certain it is they’ll engage in it. Of course, since they’ve done it every single time they’ve lost an election this century, their outrage has always been transparently phony,

I thought that was a criminal act?   Of course, we knew that couldn't be because democrats already tried it when Trump won in 2016.

Is the pied piper of South Carolina one of the ones who will refuse to certify?

Biden will whoop Trump by 10 million votes.

Maybe, maybe not..

Democrats may be changing their minds about former President  Donald Trump  ahead of the 2024 presidential election, according to a new poll.

Trump has long received low marks from  Democrats , who have long opposed him on a wide range of issues including immigration, abortion rights and the economy, but a Harvard/Harris CAPS poll released this week found that Democrats' general approval of the former president has risen since he left office in January 2021.

Twenty-nine percent of Democrats said they either "somewhat" or "strongly" approve of "the job that Donald Trump did as president," according to the poll, which surveyed 2,022 voters from February 21 to 22.

This is still a relatively low number, as 70 percent of Democrats still said they disapproved of Trump's presidential job performance.

But it represents a shift from January 2020, when the Harvard/Harris CAPS poll posed the same question in their monthly poll. That survey was released at roughly the same point in Trump's presidency as the latest poll was in Biden's term.

At that point, only 14 percent of Democrats said they approved of Trump's job performance. That poll surveyed 2,527 voters from January 27 to 29, 2020. The margin of error was not published alongside the polls.

The poll serves as the latest warning sign for Biden as he aims to secure victory in the November election.

Haley doesn't sound like she is willing to give in just yet. Not with launching millions in advertisements in Michigan and Super Tuesday states.

Several of the "experts" believe she is lining up for a run as a No Labels candidate.

If she decides to take that route- talk about flushing a political career down the toilet.

The very best she can hope to do is play spoiler to Trump and take away enough Establishment Republican votes to keep him out of office. She will not win a single state or delegate. She isn't nearly as popular as Ross Perot was.

No one will be thanking her if she is the cause of four more years of Brandon. Not even Democrats/leftists.

Leftist media tried to play down the victory and I'm sure some here on this partisan site will.

What a bunch of f'ing garbage.

Trump is 'succeeding' because he is leading a cult consisting of people who have no standards, no character standards, no behavioral standards, no coherence standards, and no decency standards, and frankly no intelligence standards.  And because the people in his party that could have prevented this travesty instead kissed up to him at every turn and gave him a shred of so-called credibility in the eyes of the gullible populace which had been concerned following January 6th.

Trump's comments and speeches get more ridiculous, more offensive, more incoherent, and more unAmerican with every passing day.
