The Peace Deal Proposal that never was
“And as long as Hamas lives up to its commitments, the temporary cease-fire would become, in the words of the Israeli proposal, ‘the cessation of hostilities permanently,’” Mr. Biden said.

Shortly after the outrageous verdict in the Trump trial, president Biden made his comments, as promised on why we should all respect the decisions of juries because after all, we would never have unscrupulous DAs and judges stage a political sham case. The US under Biden is way above that. Does anyone believe that?

More importantly, Biden then went off in an unexpected direction. He claimed that Israel made a wonderful offer to Hamas which would exchange a permanent cease fire for a release of hostages:

"Mr. Biden said the first phase of the proposed deal would last for six weeks and would include a “full and complete cease-fire,” a withdrawal of Israeli forces from all densely populated areas of Gaza, and the release of a number of hostages, including women, the elderly and the wounded, in exchange for the release of hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

American hostages would be released at this stage, and the remains of hostages who have been killed would be returned to their families. Humanitarian assistance would surge during the first phase, with 600 trucks being allowed into Gaza each day.

The second phase would include the release of all remaining living hostages, including male soldiers, and Israeli forces would withdraw from Gaza.

“And as long as Hamas lives up to its commitments, the temporary cease-fire would become, in the words of the Israeli proposal, ‘the cessation of hostilities permanently,’” Mr. Biden said.

The third phase calls for the start of a major reconstruction of Gaza, which faces decades of rebuilding from the devastation caused by war. The 4-1/2 page Israeli proposal was transmitted to Hamas on Thursday."

It sounded like a ridiculous concession for Israel to make and it turns out it was:

"Netanyahu called a permanent cease-fire in Gaza a “nonstarter” until long-standing conditions for ending  the war  are met, appearing to undermine the proposal that Biden described as an Israeli one."

So, what was Biden thinking?

Did he think Hamas would agree and make Israel look bad?

"Many Americans do not think this or that", is right up there with, "I do not remember you saying this or that", as the all time lamest dodges ever. It does not matter boo squat what a lot of never think about anythings did not think about and did not say to begin with!

From your article:

Israel had accepted a framework deal for winding down the Gaza war now being advanced by U.S. President Joe Biden, though he described it as flawed and in need of much more work.

Back here in reality 80% of American Jews support President Biden, like the proposed peace plan and will be voting Democratic on November 5th...

The only thing that Hamas is committed to is to eradicate the State of Israel and kill every last Jew. Biden, and the man who pulls his puppet strings, Obama, have made it very clear over the past several years of their distain of Israel, Netanyahu, and the Jewish people.

Disdain of Netanyahu and the entire Zionist faction is warranted.

Not for Israel and the Jewish people.

Now if only some would make the same distinction about Hamas, Hezbollah, PA, and the Palestinian people.

Don't count Brandon's votes before they are cast.

Don't worry, Brandon is fucking up the other side as well with his radical pro Hamas base.

Obama "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to fuck things up".

Brandon is proving Obama right.

By now we should all recognize that Joe Biden is not trying to find peace in the middle east; Biden is trying to create scapegoats to get himself off the hook.  Seems rather obvious that Biden's proposal would be a non-starter with Netanyahu.  And that's the whole point of the exercise.

Biden is deliberately trying to divide the Israelis and make Netanyahu the bad guy.  If the Israelis would rise up in an Arab Spring revolt against Netanyahu then Biden would be off the hook and could step in as some sort of phony peacemaker.

This what Biden has done his entire political career -- start a dogfight and then step back and moralize from the peanut gallery.  A Senator or House Rep can get away with that type of politics.  Schumer does it.  Pelosi does it.  Adam Schiff does it.  Even Liz Cheney tried to do that.  It's an old, old divide and conquer strategy that works well the ignorant American electorate.  But it won't work when the buck stops on the Resolute desk.  And other political leaders around the world don't have to respect the American political norm.  Biden pulling this sort of partisan crap as President can get millions killed -- and -- Biden doesn't give a shit.

There are so many conflicting reports about a "peace deal" and about a "cease fire" deal from both sides and here that I have no idea what's actual and what isn't, and who's saying yes and who's saying no, and with Netanyahu between a rock and a hard place on so many levels only God knows where this is whole damn thing is heading.

Wasn't that the idea of the last cease fire that Hamas violated on October 7th?  So what makes this one so special?

According to the certified idiot: The US will make sure Israel complies with its end and Quatar will make sure Hamas complies on the other end.

Does anyone other than George Stephanopoulos believe him?

They live in a fantasy world where Hamas tries to live in peace, Biden inheriting a 9% inflation rate and electric cars being a practical form of transportation.
