Ticking Clock
As Biden introduced Zelenskyy to give his remarks, the U.S. president said: “Ladies and gentlemen, President Putin.”

Joe Biden eventually held his "Big Boy press conference" last night after many delays. He managed to take questions from reporters who were on a list assembled by his campaign advisors. He answered questions about world affairs, and he talked about both his economic record and his future agenda. He criticized Trump for many things that were implied but simply not true. At times he struggled to complete his own thoughts. He tainted the event at the end of his speech by introducing President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine as “President Putin.” Overall, however, for Joe Biden he got a passing grade, but it surely won't put an end to what has become a democrat civil war.

The sides:

ANI-20221225010337.jpg

Currently, Joe Biden has family members such as his sister Mary Valerie Biden Owens, who happens to be a political strategist, his wife Jill, his son Hunter and a few very close aides. One key, but questionable supporter would be Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, who recently said "I'm with Joe," but may have said something different to donors behind closed doors.

GSP4NcwXQAA2Xwc?format=jpg&name=small

Those against Joe are led by the great divider Barack Obama, who recently met with Nancy Pelosi and gave George Clooney approval to go ahead with a damning op-ed piece. Obama operatives like David Axelrod are also doing their part. Most of the leftwing media that lied about Biden's condition for years in now looking to dump him, led by the New York Times which recently did an editorial claiming that Biden has a "zero" chance of beating Trump. Then there are the elite donors like Abigail Disney, who have hit the brakes on funding the Biden campaign. Last but not least are all the democrat candidates on the 2024 ballot in highly contested precincts. Eight more House Democrats called on Biden to step aside yesterday, bringing the total number to 17.

As of right now Biden is as determined as ever to run. If he can manage to go from one press conference to another with a barely credible performance such as last night, he may just be able to run out the clock. The longer the war goes on without Biden budging, the better the prospects for Biden being the nominee.

In the news:

Inflation cooled last month which may lead Federal Reserve officials who are considering when to cut interest rates to give the Biden campaign a big gift in September with a rate cut. Is anyone surprised?

NATO allies committed more weapons to Ukraine. Still, it won’t be enough for Kyiv to launch a major counteroffensive against Russia until next year, military experts said.

Russia allegedly plotted to assassinate the chief executive of a German company that makes weapons for Ukraine, according to US intelligence officials.

The House defeated a bill that would have fined the corrupt AG Merrick Garland $10,000 a day for refusing to turn over audio recordings of Biden’s special counsel interview. Normally I would post the names of the Republican defectors, but not 4 months out from an election.

China’s exports are surging worldwide.

Good morning.

The Las Vegas area reached 115 degrees for five straight days, a record-setting streak.

“It’s like being in front of an exhaust pipe,” one visitor said.

These days I prefer to stay in a nice, air-conditioned room. One of the benefits of old age.

Good luck with trying to equate the two.

both candidates will eventually face being institutionalized, in 2 different settings, both hard to walk away from.

good luck using biden's age and a complete lack of legislative accomplishments to campaign on, and trying to keep the 2025 project hidden under the GOP rug.

Not everyone agrees with that. Oddly enough, both the Biden & Trump campaigns consider it a minor victory.

Let us give him credit for answering a double question on two different topics, he remembered each question, kept them separate, and doubled back to answer.

Trump has been involved in thousands of lawsuits, the majority of which he initiated. He sues people to intimidate them, besmirch them, and sometimes just for fun. He is not a victim of lawfare he is a perpetrator of it.

Someone was whining about lawfare.

The term may refer to the use of legal systems and principles against an enemy, such as by damaging or  delegitimizing  them, wasting their time and money (e.g.,  strategic lawsuits against public participation ), or winning a  public relations  victory.

All of that describes Trump to a t.  He is not the victim of lawfare he is the perpetrator of it.

Is it ok for someone to run for DA by promising to get somebody?

Is it ok for a president to prosecute his opponents?

Is it ok for a DA to use some novel twisted law on one individual for political reasons?

The US is quite capable of doing that all by its lonesome.

Especially when Joe is our representative to the rest of the world.

Yeah, you've said that before.  So evil.  jrSmiley_80_smiley_image.gif

Some folks go out of their way to find the most unflattering image possible and then there is probably, usually some photoshopping involved.

Yeah, SHE's evil jrSmiley_78_smiley_image.gif

Evil is today's gqp/gop/ their leader the former 'president' convicted felon and rapist.

So much to look up to there.

There is some sort of internal feud going on.  Anybody catch when Biden threw Obama under the Afghan bus?  And Biden didn't mention Beau anywhere; maybe that's why it was billed a a Big Boy press conference.

Joe Biden very lucidly laid out a bad domestic and foreign policy agenda.  Biden's enumerated wins, plans, and promises that were an odd admixture of Reagan and Trump doctrine.  There wasn't any sort of nod to Clinton and Obama only appeared as a scapegoat for the Fall of Kabul.  Biden has always been dangerous and the press conference only affirmed the risks associated with reelecting Biden.  The problem with Joe Biden isn't only his age.

It was kinda cute that Biden said 'By The Way' to signal when he was going to mimic Trump.  BTW, Biden knows more world leaders than anybody, has done more than any leader since Pharaoh Ramses, and is the only human being that has ever existed who can fix everything.  NATO leaders love Uncle Joe, why don't you?

The odd habit of drifting off into a circuitous discussion around a question before attempting to make a point is pure Biden.  That rambling, incoherent style is not a sign of old age; that's how Biden has always spoke in public.  It's the teleprompter rally speeches that are out of character for Biden.

It's way too late for Democrats to recognize who and what Joe Biden represents.  What we saw during the press conference was apparent when Joe Biden was Vice President.  Age may have slowed Joe Biden and weakened his voice but Biden is still the same guy he was 15 years ago.  What we saw was the real Joe Biden.
