The middle east on the brink and the number 49
He is come to open the purple testament of bleeding war... William Shakespeare (Macbeth)

Yesterday morning Israel was able to do two things: First was to show that it could take out terrorist leaders with little collateral damage anywhere that it wanted, and it also proved that Iran is weak defensively. Not long ago, Iran fired off hundreds of missiles & drones at Israel, which Israel and all its allies had to take down. Because of the Biden policy nobody was really concerned that Israel would respond with a full-scale war. All of the pressure for restraint has been on Israel and only Israel. Now however the shoe is on the other foot. The rogue Iranian regime, which the Biden administration has coddled has been attacked. Before that it was Beirut that received a precision strike. Iran's leaders as well as the leaders of its proxy Hezbollah are vowing revenge.

Could it mean a new middle east war?

Could it effect the US election which is in the midst of a colossal Harris honeymoon?

We don't know what Antony Blinken is doing behind closed doors, but my guess is that the deal may be worse than the war.

The number 49.

Why is this number important?

As everyone knows, the media and the democrats have staged a perfect rollout for Kamala Harris. Unlike Biden she can follow a script. Please note that since Joe Biden was forced to quit the race, Harris is not provided the public with any word salads or cackles. She has spoken before friendly staged events, which the media has been able to fancy as political rallies. There have been no serious questions for Ms Harris, who now has surrogates out telling us that she has moderated all her positions.

Donald Trump on the other hand has faced all questions and visited heavily democratic precincts. Yesterday, Trump accepted an invitation to be interviewed by Black journalists. The only journalist there was Harris Faulkner. Trump must have known that he was walking into a minefield, and he did stumble on one of those mines. He made the mistake of discussing Kamala Harris use of her identity. There is nothing the Harris campaign would like more than making the election about identity. The media will be using that for as long as they can.

Since the departure of Biden, the race has been reset and we all have to agree that thanks primarily to the media, Harris has the momentum. I do urge the progressives a bit of caution. Last night on Special Report , Bret Baier spoke with Arnon Mishkin about the election and Mishkin pointed to something that we shouldn't forget. He pointed out that if you look at the numbers the race hasn't changed all that much and here is the number to focus on: 49 . You see, that is the percentage of support that Trump has maintained throughout this election. Mishkin pointed out that democrat voters are concentrated in big cities and blue states, while Trump supporters are spread out throughout the country, so if Harris gets 51% and Trump gets 49%, Harris will win the popular vote, but Trump will win the election.

In the news:

T he Biden administration has agreed to a prisoner exchange with Russia and is expected to soon secure the release of three American citizens imprisoned in Russia including Wall Street Journal reporter  Evan Gershkovich , Marine veteran  Paul Whelan , and Russian-American radio journalist  Alsu Kurmasheva , a senior administration official confirms.  The swap would be part of an historically complex 24-person prisoner swap between the U.S., Russia, Germany and three other Western countries.

U.S.-Russia prisoner swap to free Americans Evan Gershkovich, Paul Whelan (msn.com)

The United Automobile Workers union, in a surprise to none, endorsed Kamala Harris.

Partial results in Venezuela’s election, analyzed by The New York Times, suggest an opposition candidate beat President Nicolás Maduro by 30 points. I say to the Times: PROVE IT.

One scientist wants to block the sun to cool the earth. Some are against the idea.

The Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged but hinted that it might make another rate cut in September, which would give both the Stock Market and the Harris Campaign a boost.

Good morning.

To date 156 episodes comprising the original iteration of The Twilight Zone appear on various TV stations. Many of them delt with social issues and were ahead of their time. American society has been in free fall since then, but still the moral of the stories continue to be relevant to this very day.

He made the mistake of discussing Kamala Harris use of her identity. There is nothing the Harris campaign would like more than making the election about identity.

trump's appearance on stage was delayed by a standoff over his objection to the nabj use of real time fact checking, which trump later blamed on event organizers and technical issues at the event, but still went on to repeat the same litany of debunked lies so popular with his mentally challenged base.

my prediction is that there won't ever be a presidential debate before november. beside the fact that trump is a gutless coward, the trump campaign will never allow it now, after his nabj debacle yesterday. the harris campaign needs to focus on trump's cowardice and continue taunting him in the media over his age, mental state, debunked lies, and overt racism, and then capitalize on his unrestrained social media tweets and his statements on friendly media outlets that harris will provoke. compared to the harris campaign, trump's continued use of dog whistle personal attacks and his negative messaging of hatred, fear and division, will only lead to his ultimate defeat in november.

that has never won the popular vote

But won over flyover country which Democrats ignore.

been impeached twice

By TDS driven Democrats that violated House rules to do it each time.

used the office for personal financial gain

Prove it. Democrats would be overjoyed if you could.

Funny how Democrats have no problem when their side does it. Biden being a prime example. Followed closely by the Clintons.

alienated our allies,

You can only be talking about the Biden administration with his botched Afghanistan withdrawal and betraying Israel.

patronized our enemies,

Which president allowed a Chinese spy balloon 3 football fields in size to have free range over the continental US and military bases? Which president dropped sanctions on Iran allowing them to move closer to getting a nuclear weapon? Which president is allowing Iranian backed militias and terrorist groups to attack US forces and threat shipping lanes?

instigated an attempted insurrection

Learn what an insurrection is and then get back to us. If the Summer of Love riots weren't and insurrection then neither was Jan 6th.

obstructed the peaceful transfer of power after his defeat for the first time in history

You are talking about Gore, Kerry, and Hillary correct?

indicted for his criminal acts multiple times

Democrat run kangaroo courts don't count to anyone but leftist lemmings.

and has been convicted of felonies and awaiting sentencing with 3 more trials pending.

Leftists really love kangaroo courts. So does Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, and every other third world dictatorship. Democrats have sunk that low.

Leftists really need to look in the mirror first before calling anyone else unamerican.

Said no leftist ever!

Obama's first term was the last time there was a Democrat nominee that wasn't chosen by party fiat.

Biden has ignored Supreme Court rulings twice with his renters moratorium and student loan forgiveness EO's.

Biden hasn't enforced our borders or our immigration laws.

The state of NY used a federal law to stretch misdemeanors (whose statute of limitations ran out) into felonies. Point to anywhere in the Constitution that allows states to prosecute federal laws? The FEC is the deciding factor in campaign contribution and payment laws- and they gave it a hard pass. Unlike Hillary's claim that the Steele Dossier was a campaign legal expense.

Democrats abused the power of the House throughout Trump's term in office. Twice with impeachments that didn't follow House rules; and again with the Jan 6th Pelosi hand picked TDS driven committee.

Democrats tried to keep Trump off the ballot at the state level- again by abusing federal law.

Democrats tried to federal all elections.

Democrats first wanted to pack the Supreme Court. Now they want to impose restrictions on how the court operates; put in term limits; and change how often justices are brought in.

Democrats shit on the Constitution and laws continuously; and then scream "But Trruuummmmppppp!!!!!!!"

It is called the "one drop rule".

Apparently, Kamala still believes in that.

Everyone who can read knows that Harris is black and Indian.

Is Indian now one of our artificial, racial identifications?

And THAT is terrible reasoning for voting her in.

If you vote for anyone based on the color of their skin you are by definition a racist.

Clueless?  No, then explain why someone who has African/Jamaican/Indian/Irish only self-identifies as black.

First, it seems to me that Harris identifies as Jamaican and Indian.

Second, the black demographic is 10x larger than the Indian demographic in our nation and she certainly has the look so why would she not identify as black?

Lots of very petty criticism aimed at Harris.

Yes especially those who are claiming, so manly, that she is only being picked because she is one or the other (black and/or woman - and not merit).

If you vote for anyone based on the color of their skin you are by definition a racist.

Not quite.

If you are going to claim something is true by definition then you should first check the definition:

rac·ist

adjective: racist

  1. characterized by or showing prejudice , discrimination, or antagonism against a person or people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized .

"we are investigating complaints about racist abuse"

noun: racist ; plural noun: racists

  1. a person who is prejudiced against or antagonistic toward people on the basis of their membership in a particular racial or ethnic group, typically one that is a minority or marginalized .
"he has been targeted by vicious racists online"

A defining characteristic of being racist is engaging in bigotry (and similar negativity) based on a person's race or ethnicity.

Favoring someone due simply to their race or ethnicity is not bigotry.   In certain circumstances it might be wrong-headed thinking, but it is certainly not bigotry.

Putin made reference to him when asked about the holding of Gershkovich.

That was the only reason Putin held him. Now the dems are trying to win an election and the Biden puppet masters gave Putin everything he wanted.

Not much of a surprise.

People whose sole income is Social Security do not pay taxes.

Income taxes are based on income , and people who have other incomes that put them over the limit pay taxes on that other income.

Not exactly true. Social Security is calculated as income and thus taxable if your total income meets the thresholds. This applies to federal taxes and some, but not all states.

It’s taxing a tax. SS payroll deductions are classified as a tax. And that isn’t legal under federal law.

BREAKING: Former Illinois Republican Governor, Jim Edgar, has announced he will vote for Vice President Kamala Harris. High ranking Republicans are abandoning Donald Trump as his campaign seemingly implodes.
===================================
Edgar has been out of office for quite awhile, but still represents the sort of mainstream Republican that are dodo birds in that party now.
Can anyone think of an ex Democratic governor who now says he is voting for Trump?   Nah.
