Toast of the town
“He says he’s going to bring America back on track and I believe him. The last four years have been absolutely miserable for this country, and he gave me confidence tonight that we have a leader,” said Eduard Pantoja, 49, of Staten Island.

Yesterday former President Trump made a historic appearance at New York's Madison Square Garden. Trump spoke before a packed house at MSG, nearly 20,000 strong. Tens of thousands of supporters had to be turned away. Many notable speakers attended including the former first lady. It was Melania Trump who introduced her husband. New York has not voted for a Republican for president in 40 years and although Trump is not expected to win New York, the speech resonated with many New Yorkers, and we finally got to see Trump at his best.

Ga8AHHjaoAA2g4n?format=jpg&name=medium

Trump began his speech by asking the question that President Ronald Reagan made famous: "Are you better off now than you were four years ago?"

The highlights:

"But I’m thrilled to be back in the city I love and thousands of proud, hardworking American patriots. You’re with me. We’ve always been together. And I’d like to begin by asking a very simple question. Are you better off now than you were four years ago?

I’m here today with a message of hope for all Americans. With your vote in this election, I will end inflation. I will stop the invasion of criminals coming into our country. And I will bring back the American dream. We need the American dream to come back home.

Our country will be bigger, better, bolder, richer, safer and stronger than ever before. This election is a choice between whether we will have four more years of gross incompetence and failure or whether we will begin the four greatest years in the history of our country.

We will achieve success that no one can imagine. We will have the strongest economy, the most secure borders, the safest cities, the most powerful military, the best trade deals, and we will dominate the frontiers of science, medicine, business, technology and space.

And I’m asking you to be excited about the future of our country again. I’m asking you to dream big again. We’re going to dream big again. We haven’t been dreaming big at all. This will be America’s new golden age. It’s going to happen quickly too, very quickly."

FULL TRANSCRIPT: Trump's MAGA Rally At MSG, New York City – The Singju Post

The low points:

"Former president  Donald Trump  hosted a rally where speakers made numerous vulgar and racist remarks inside New York's Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Speakers at the rally called Vice President  Kamala Harris , the Democratic nominee, "the Antichrist" and attacked  Hillary Clinton , the Democratic nominee eight years ago, as a "sick son of a b****."

Speakers also made racist comments about Latinos and Black people, both key voting blocs in the election that is just over a week away. Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe branded Puerto Rico  a "floating island of garbage,"  said Latinos love "making babies" and joked about "carving watermelons" with a Black friend for Halloween, while radio host Sid Rosenberg called the event "a Nazi rally."

Donald Trump at Madison Square Garden: 7 Shocking Remarks - Newsweek

As I thought about what else democrats might do in these final 9 days before the election, I forgot one thing: what the Trump campaign might do to itself. Why didn't the campaign vet what those speakers might say or what the so-called comedians might think were "jokes?" Those nasty comments will be what leads the news on the 3 network news stations and 2 cable news networks and an assortment of legacy news organizations. There will only be one cable news station carrying the message from the MSG event.

Fortunately, the democrats have called Trump so many vile things and utilized so many dirty tricks including lawfare, that it no longer seems to matter. Much of America is totally focused on ending the madness of the past 4 years.

In the news:

Israel’s recent strikes against Iran made clear that it is dictating events in the Middle East and the US is left to trying to resurrect a flawed two state policy.

Chinese officials boarded a Vietnamese fishing boat and beat a man with iron pipes in a part of the South China Sea claimed by both China and Vietnam.

Japan’s governing party lost its majority in Parliamentary elections over a finance scandal.

In Western North Carolina, Hurricane Helene’s devastation is making it hard for people to get medical care.

McDonald’s will put its quarter pounder back on the menu after a deadly E. coli outbreak. In some locations, the burger won’t include raw onions on top, the likely source of the outbreak.

CBS still refuses to turn over the full transcript of the Kamala Harris 60 Minutes interview.

Does Trump have proof the Congo is emptying their prisons and shipping them off to America, or is he just an openly racist piece of shit?

Trump has said this many times now.

"The Congo has just released a lot of people from jail,"   Trump said   May 31 after his New York conviction for falsifying business records. "Congo, Africa, just released a lot of people, a lot of people from their prisons and jails and brought them into the United States of America."

We found no evidence that Congo’s government releases prisoners and sends them to the United States.

PolitiFact | No evidence for Donald Trump’s claim that Congo is releasing people from jail into the U.S.

Last night, at Madison Square Garden, they presented to us Donald Trump’s vision for America.

It was quite the hate fest the Trump campaign put on last night at Madison Square Garden.

Some “comedian,” selected and vetted by the Trump campaign, warmed up the crowd: “There’s literally a floating island of garbage in the middle of the ocean right now. I think it’s called Puerto Rico.” Just to make sure people didn’t miss the point, he also crudely mocked Latino Americans in general, and “joked” about black Americans carving watermelons instead of pumpkins this Halloween.

Some talk radio guy—selected and vetted by the Trump campaign—called former secretary of state Hillary Clinton “a sick son of a bitch” and Democrats “a bunch of degenerates. Lowlifes. Jew-haters and lowlifes. Every one of ‘em.”

Some man grasping and waving a cross screamed from the stage: “Kamala Harris is the devil! She is the Antichrist!” (Again: This was a speaker selected and vetted by the Trump campaign.)

Not to be outdone by these nobodies, top Trump aide Stephen Miller worked himself up into a pitch of nativist frenzy: “America is for Americans and Americans only.” (What a minor nation in world history we would have been had this been our policy for the last couple of centuries! Somewhere backstage, Elon Musk and Melania Trump waited for their turn to speak.)

FYI:

What laws are in place to stop illegal immigrants voting?

The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 prohibits non-citizens - which includes illegal immigrants - from voting in federal elections.

The punishment includes a year in prison, a fine, and possibly deportation.

Every state is required to use a common registration form which requires people to confirm they are US citizens, under penalty of perjury for false claims, but does not require documentary proof.

“That first step of having to tick a box saying you’re a citizen to register to vote is a huge deterrent for illegal immigrants, as it’s hugely risky to lie,” says Jasleen Singh, a voting expert at the liberal policy think tank Brennan Center for Justice.

In many states, voter rolls are cross-referenced with citizenship and immigration services, death certificates, and postal records to make sure that people who are non-citizens, dead, or live out of state are not registered to vote.

“At the polls, there’s a list of eligible voters, and if a non-citizen turns up, they’ll be turned away or told to cast a provisional ballot which will only be accepted if they can provide proof of citizenship,” says Prof Ronald Hayduk, a voting rights expert at San Francisco State University.

Non-citizens are not allowed to vote in state-wide elections either.

If you actually believed what you claim, you should want Roberts to act. After all, it wouldn't change the results because zero illegal aliens will vote and it removes the talking point that Virginia allowed illegals to vote.

If the only way Roberts could "save them" is by acting and removing illegal aliens from the rolls and making it clean election then they are absolutely correct in seeking their removal.

Did anyone catch Sunday's history lesson?

JD Vance: "If we're ever going to get out of the mess that Kamala Harris left us in."

Kristen Welker: "Donald Trump was president for 4 years while Russia was
essentially invading Crimea."

JD Vance: "Oh that's a misunderstanding of the history Kristen. We had Russia invade another country during Obama. We had Russia invade another country during Bush's term. We had Russia invade a sovereign nation during the 'leadership' of Kamala Harris. The one 4 year term where Russia did not launch a full scale invasion of a neighbor was under Donald Trump."

It is hard to believe that Welker's business is "the news!"

Dunno.  Seems like the Trump campaign is trying to whip Democrats into a frenzy.  If Democrats fall into that trap, they won't be appealing to independent, suburban, or more conservative Democrat voters.  Kamala Harris has already wiped Democrats who oppose abortion off the slate.  Harris won't be appealing to farm workers doing menial work by sounding like a Venezuelan strongman attacking political opponents.

Democrats frenzied vile bile won't play well in small towns and cities found all over fly-over country.  Foaming at the mouth over Fascists, NAZIs, and Hitler might play well in big Blue Islands but they're a turnoff in the forgotten and ignored portions of the country.  And Trump is whipping Democrats as hard as he can.

Face it, Trump was never going to win over Blue Island voters.  So, Trump needs to keep Democrats on their islands.  Why else would Trump be whipping up Democrats?  Trump is forcing Democrats to reveal who they really are.  Not a pretty picture, is it?

Stuff gets lost in translation such as all other means of communicating other by than the spoken word. That talking point is a dead horse.
