Saying bye bye to Mozilla Firefox

I have been an avid user of Firefox when they first debuted. I loved it, enjoyed it, and was proud to have it installed on my computers. Well, sad to say, I finally had to uninstall and say my farewell to Mozilla Firefox once and for all. After the past few mths, all their constant updates and it becoming slower and slower to load a page, and then it became very sluggish the past two weeks, I decided to switch browser to Google Chrome.

I liked firefox when they had the options of blocking websites in the browser, but that disappeared, but i continued to say with them. Well, after it just became slower and slower to load a web page, and then so sluggish that I would wait for a good 30 seconds or longer for firefox to even respond, that was my final straw with Mozilla Firefox.

I installed Google Chrome and it loads up very quickly. I don't seem to have that sluggish problem any longer like I was getting using Firefox.

Sorry Firefox, but all your continuous updates and 'improvement' have backfired imo.

So sorry to say goodbye to you, but I really had no other choice.

Agreed. I was happy with Firefox for many years until it got too cluttered and slow. I have been using Chrome for about 2 years now and am quite satisfied with it.

So far, I am satisfied with Chrome as well. It took some time to install and then put in all my passwords and such, but it's finally done.

I don't think I'll ever go back to firefox again. they seem to be getting too carried away with improvements when there was nothing wrong with it in the very beginning.

I can see Firefox going under if they do not get their act together and stop messing with what once use to be a good and decent browser.

Firefox works best for me and has for years. Love it, I do.

I, too, have noticed the creeping sluggishness and problems on Firefox, and I was happy with Chrome, but then China blocked google. Internet Explorer is even worse than Firefox.

My opinion. I've been running Firefox for years and have never had a problem...but then again I keep it up to date. I also run about nine Ff extensions which make it top heavy on the memory usage but but my PC can handle it and it is still very quick for me.

I can say I also speed tweak Ff using the "about:config" option which is not recommended for beginners.

Also, one of the more geeky things I do is monitor my UPD/TCP protocols and IP ports. When I did run Chrome, I noticed a lot more data leaving my computer to certain IP#'s which I did not allow. When I tried closing those services with my firewall (Privatefirewall) Chrome would just launch another service to replace it. Sort of like "Whack a mole". I'm privacy conscious and have complete control of my in/out traffic with Ff, which is why I use it.
