Just outside of Ponca Arkansas is ''The Hanging Tree''. Adored with Harley Davidson's that were captured in the vicinity of Ponca.
The irony of the name of the town and the only acceptable motorcycle is classic.
The bike that is accepted in Ponca....The Indian Chief.
Photo of the Hanging Tree was taken Wednesday Oct. 15th 2014.
Just having a bit of fun.
LOL!
:~)
Honestly though, has anyone checked out Indian's new line? The Chieftain looks awesome!
You have heard me say it-- my grandparents courted on an Indian Chief.
Great piece of highway interest there, Kavika!
I have checked them out Larry, they are just beautiful.
At one time, I had a 1949 Indian Chief.
The irony of it all, is that the town Ponca, is the same name as an Indian Tribe....LOLOLOLOL
MIG, they are a very cool bike.
The irony of it all is that when I took that photo, the town of Ponca is named after an Indian tribe. LOLOLOL
Yes, I remember you telling us about that Dowser.
I had to take the photo when I saw it, and the irony of the name of the town was too much to pass up.
Why does the town have that attitude?
It's more of a joke 1st....The name of the town, Ponca, is the same as the Indian tribe. Thus they support Indian motorcycles...
Gotta love the irony...:^)
Whatever happened to the '49? Gorgeous bike and in high demand nowwa days.
I wish I still had it Larry. I sold it back in the 90's.
Oh I hear ya. Hey, when I hit the lotto and strike it rich, I'll get ya another one!
I'll be looking forward to getting it Larry, thanks a lot. Your my new best friend...
We'll go for a cruise. You on the '49, me on a '14 Chieftain...it'll be bad-ass!
Beautiful Bike, poor tree.
It is a beautiful bike Six.
Funny!
I wonder if Larry has the same year/model that Grandpa had!
Sorry for the confusion Dowser, I am only dreaming. This is my baby...
...a 2004 Honda Shadow Aero. Humble but all mine!
Good luck with that BF. Most parents are insane by the time they send the last one off to college. Of course then there are the bills from college.
This doesn't sound like a good plan to me. Buy it now, the costs aren't going to get any less.
Dear Friend Kavika: From 1969-1971 I had Harley Davidson XLH Sportster equipped with rear disc brakes.
Optional "Boat Tail" mudguards were available in 1971. My graduate student budget at Kansas University in Lawrence didn't allow for them.
I loved the feel of the wind in my hair from spring until fall.
Now I haven't enough hair left to wave in a hurricane. LOL.
Great article.
Great Bikes.
Peace, Abundant Blessings and Better Use for Trees in Arkansas.

That photo of the Indian Chief bike is the most beautiful bike I've ever seen, but I'm waiting to see what the new $27,000 Roadmaster looks like. Roadmaster used to be Buick's high end brand name (4 holes on each side of the hood instead of 3).
And here it is:
