Believe it or not, it's Philadelphia (and just down the street from my house.
This is the first tree around town this year that has been all of one color. Due, I think, to the unusually large amount of rain we've gotten for the last three months, the trees are changing color later than usual and each tree is changing color unevenly. This one was taken with my new cell phone (better camera than the last one, but not as good as an I-Phone).
Pretty close, Mac. The phone may have added just a bit more orange to the yellow, but only a small amount. That may actually have been due to me opening the shutter more than usual. Today was dark and cloudy in the late afternoon, when this was taken, and I had to lighten it quite a bit.
Unhappy camper today; I am in the mountains and the fall colors are just approaching peak BUT the fugitive is still on the loose, the weather is damp and chilly so he may be looking for shelter, vehicles, photographers, fishermen, food
Gotta take all pictures from paved roads and fish in open areas.
Halloween celebrations in Pocono communities have been canceled, likewise foliage festivals and hunting seasons suspended.
But putting things in perspective, my loss is trivial compared to the loss of the family of the murdered State Trooper.
All of these pictures are very nice. It appears A Mac has seen the peak on his trail as so many leaves have already fallen.
That looks like a toy camper under that tree TTGA especially when compared to the homes on each side. Do you know what kind of tree it is? It's very nice.
Coke is a scourge. Not only did I lose my best colour slides from a trip to Spain and Morocco because someone spilled Coke all over them when they were spread over a table top, but much worse, it killed my best friend when he was only 48 years old - sugar diabetes and heart attack. He was a fanatical Coca-Cola addict - wolfed down at least one giant bottle every day. When they introduced the new Coke he drove all over the city to buy up the remaining stocks of the original.
Really not that big hon. I've got three right next to my house that make that one look like a dwarf. Unfortunately, they changed colors bit by bit, so I didn't bother getting pictures of them. There are a couple down the street that have gone to orange and red. I'm going to be sure to have the camera with me tomorrow, when I take Levi for his stroller ride.
Just about all of the trees around here are Maples Six. The village tried planting some Elm trees a few years ago, but the Dutch Elm disease got them. They re-planted with more Maples, so it looks like that will be the predominant tree around here for the next hundred years (again). Originally, this whole area of Southern Michigan had what are known as Oak Openings; rolling grassland with large groves of Oak trees spotted around it. That's why the furniture that made Grand Rapids famous is mostly made of Oak. When the groves were replanted, the farmers planted the Sugar Maple so that they could collect the sap. Most of the Oak forests are now about a hundred miles North of here. North of that are mostly White Pines. The Maple is what produces the beautiful Orange and Red colors in the Fall. Elm and Oak mostly turn Yellow.
Go for a walk, anyone?
A walk in the park, Mac..
A joy to behold.

Great shot in many ways but particularly in that it shows the scale.
Nice clarity and good exposure.
I'm curious; in your estimation, how true are the colors as taken with your new phone?

OK; so even in compromise mode, it turned out to be a good day.
Caught this Rainbow Trout (and released it)
And caught it in this beautiful setting.

Mac..I love how you captured the angle of the curve.... and the colors!!!!!! Fabulous!!
TTGA...Nice shot of one of the biggest trees I have ever seen! Can't beat the true color of Nature!!! Very nice job!!
Hey, Randy, where've you been?
I second that. Anyway, always happy to see you.

And one of mine from 2 years ago:
Great color and texture; nice leading line along left vertical third.

I can't wait to see them! (and a pic of Levi) !! I posted some new Fall pic's...
Man can never duplicate the colors of Nature!!
I live in the 'burb's', so the trees don't get REAL big here....:-(
