Getting in, Getting the Shot and Getting the Hell Out!
With an alleged killer on the loose in the woods of the Pocono Mountains of Northeast Pennsylvania, I can't spend as much time there as I would ordinarily --especially with the fall colors on the march.
This afternoon I made it in to one of my favorite fall photo locations; I got the shot I wanted and got out 45 minutes elapsed time and never was out of sight of my car.

A week or so until peak colors!
Is that him in that bush to the left? Nice work as usual A. Mac.
A shot almost worth dying for. It's like a painting, Mac. I think I might like to buy this one from you as a gift for my mother in law.
Nah! I don't take money from friends. I'll print and matte and send it to you my pleasure.
Another beauty Mac.
As gorgeous as this picture is-- nothing is worth losing your life over. I know you were careful, and I know you're safe. Forgive me if I worry, just a bit!
I love this picture!
Please be careful! I don't know what we would do without you!
If you're good at getting in, getting the shot and then getting the hell out, you could qualify to do this, could you not?
I agree, Dowser. The photos are beautiful, as always, but I do worry about him being out in those woods, as you do.
Beautiful A.Mac...
Be very careful A.Mac as you are aware that killer is still on the loose, my daughter and her husband were in the Pocono Mountains this past weekend, I reminded them to close the garage door and lock the front door when they leave to go shopping... I visited about one month ago, now, I live in NYC and so do they, however, they left to go shopping at Walmart, when I went to the front of the house, the garage was left up and the front door left unlocked, not open but unlocked..well, I like things to be locked tight and I was not pleased with them leaving me there and the doors unlocked...I am not used to that...
A Mac, I have to tell you that is one of the most beautiful photos I've ever seen. As I told you before the best camera in my opinion is our eyes, ears nose and body senses. I know it must have been exhilarating just to be there and experience it live. Thank you very much for providing these photos for everyone to enjoy. six
Beautiful, Mac. Looks like they can't quite catch the fugitive! Better be safe.
Buzz, Unlike myself in the Poconos, photojournalists who record images in war zones are doing serious work in ever dangerous situations.
A couple years back, I read of a photographer who had such assignments; upon taking a picture of a child surrounded by death and mayhem, it suddenly occurred to him that he was concentrating on the composition of the image and being indifferent to the significance and horror of the content.
He retired immediately.
I thank everyone for the generous comments regarding the photo and concerns for my well-being; it is doubly gratifying.
