Buzz,
I am getting the feeling that you are longing for some good Jewish food.
Maybe a bagel with a smear? Some lox on top.
A half sour?
Corned Beef on rye?
Potato latka and applesauce.
Are you hungry yet?
Buzz,
May a thousand fly's infest your armpits for showing me this at midnight.
You are the devil.
I can buy dill pickles here (called pickled gherkins), but not Strubs old dills (the best - made by one family for generations). As well I can buy frozen sliced lox but no bagels since they closed the Dunkin Donuts shop. As for the smear all I can get is packaged name brands (Krafts, etc) - not the real deli cream cheese. Actually, a couple of weeks ago I ate at a Chinese banquet and they served latkas almost as good as my mother's. No sour cream or applesauce for them, but still pretty good. Now, you KNOW how my mouth is watering for a good corned beef on fresh baked rye with mustard (not mayo or butter on white, Annie Hall). I can't believe I can't get a jar of herring in wine sauce or in cream sauce here, but it's hard enough to find a can of sardines - lots of canned tuna but no canned salmon although it's available at a high price fresh.
I would have liked to have seen the faces and heard the comments from the tasters if they had tried to eat kishka, or even deadlier, p'chaw.
Damn!!! What I wouldn't give for a good knish right now. Perrie, do you remember when I mistakenly called Krishna "Kishka"? It had to have been the psychological effects of Jewish food deprivation.
It was lunch time for me - had curry rice with veggies.
By the way, for the uninitiated, Manischevitz is a brand name - They package many different kinds of foods. What you saw was a bottle of their sweet grape wine - a necessity at Passover.
Buzz, Nona and I invented a new Italian/Indian dish called ''Frizza'' a cross between pizza and fry bread.
I think that it's time that we have a Jewish/Indian dish. I will leave this to Perrie, since she is a JIP.
Buzz,
You been lookin' in my kitchen window?
The real test of Jewish food is whether or not you feel guilty before, after and during the time you're eating it
and any other time you're enjoying himself.
OK. What's the difference between a Jewish mother and an Italian mother?
Answer: The Italian mother says, "If you don't eat your dinner, I'm going to kill you!"
The Jewish mother says,"If you don't eat your dinner, I'm going to kill myself!"
OK. Kavika. A Jewish girl married a Native American boy. Her parents were distraught that their daughter married out of her/their religion and became somewhat estranged from her.
A year later the girl phoned her parents and told them, "You have a grandson." And in the hope of softening their hearts, informed them further "And we've given him a Jewish name
"Whitefish."
Hava nagila have two nagila have three nagila
They're really small.
LOL Mac....
Did you know that Enoch and I, invented a Jewish/Indian snack...Yup it's true, the ''Kosher Winnebagal''.......The chef at Jay's Diner (co owned by Enoch and I), Chief Chef Boiling Water Goldstein, is an expert at preparing this tasty delight.
Thanks to A.Mac and Kavika I have started my day off laughing.
