Prelude to Autumn 2014
It's officially "Autumn, 2014." Some places are beginning to show "autumn leaves," but in most places, a week to two or three before "peak" colors. And year-after-year, "peak" varies (location-to-location) in terms of color intensity and how long leaves remain on trees before they yup fall.
So, while the really good fall photo ops are a bit down the road, here's one shot from a previous year transformed to a poster image.
It's difficult to wait for such beauty even when you know it's just around the bend.

It's difficult to wait for such beauty even when you know it's just around the bend.
When students ask me what my favourite season is, I tell them that it's Autumn, because where I come from the colours are magnificent, and the air is clear and cool - all very different from here. I eagerly await your postings as reminders of what I miss.
