The White-tail Deer that live in the woods behind my back yard, have for years, been producing fawns that come by and hang out (eating my flowers and looking good).
Today I finally got some good photos of one of this year's fawns.
Great photo of the fawn - perfect pose. Since I first saw them as a little kid I've always been fascinated by snapdragons. Now I live in a country where dragons are a commonplace theme.
We have a lot of deer and this time of year fawns. I hear them more than see them; they walk through the edge of town (we live right off the golf course and cemetery at the outer edge of town) and call to their youngins to keep track. Wedon't see them in our yard very often as deer do NOT like dogs. July 2011 thoughI fell asleep with my dog Winnie (Greeat Pyrenees)while drinking beers by the campfire in the backyard. I woke up hearing the pup snoring, and as my eyesight adjusted to the dark as the fire had burnt down, there was a fawn not 10 ft. from us, looking straight into my eyes and terrified. I didn't wanna move and scare the babe, but thenI heard a loud keening right over my shoulder...the fawns momma was about 3 ft. from me in the trees, giving warning to her little 'un that it was time to flee. They were gone in a half a heartbeat. Winnie woke up and smelled the air, and had a look on her face like "wtf 's goin' on?" I'll never forget it!
So, I sort of stretched the truth.
Both are so sweet and utterly gorgeous! I sure wish I lived in your back yard!
Beautiful Pictures A. Mac! You must have some good flowers 'cause that fawn looks as healthy as can be.
:~)
The Snapdragons are in my front yard, but I would by happy should you reside in either.
Got room for a tent?
We have a bit of extra room indoors.

A Mac
Beautiful as always
Thanks for sharing your piece of heaven on earth with me.
I sometimes comment but I always enjoy the pictures
It wouldn't be anywhere near the joy it gives me if I didn't share it, especially with people I like.
And it gets me away from the political stuff!

I don't have any deer living near me, but this one is gorgeous. I do have snapdragons, dropped down by birds!! Fantastic photos as always!!
Wonderful photos Mac. We have quite a few deer around us, and I loving seeing the fawns.
I've wanted to post more but have had difficulty connecting and staying connected; today was the best in a long time.
