Spring Time In The Rockies!!!!!!!
I haven't been able to get them to sit pretty in trees like AMac
In 1988 a dam burst in Rocky Mountain National Park, the next two photos show the rubble that was washed down by that flood.
Note the people in the lower left corner it will give you the scale of the debris field. They are wearing Blue shirts.
The boulders you see in these photos were not there the night before the flood. That should give you an idea of just what water pressure can do.
I rarely sit in trees and if I did, it wouldn't be pretty
Oh, you mean the sheep!
Yeah, very few are arboreal.
Good work my friend!
Let's have more.
Great photos Larry.
When I lived in Nevada, the big horn would come right into town (Boulder City) and munch on the grass in the public park. LOL, it was quite the sight.
Mac, is that you!!!!!
Oh man these are great photos Larry. You and A Mac and all the others who put the photos on here are really appreciated.
They were our school mascot in high school.
Larry and I are not really your school mascots are we?
Why wasn't I told?
Oh
The Big Horn Sheep.
Oh
Never mind.
South Philadelphia High School Rams Apparel Store
Small world.
Great job Larry---gorgeous!
I'd like to be sitting in that stream right now, 89 degrees where I am
It does look a bit like it could be AMac
Like AMac said before Nature makes the scene we just take the pictures of her work.
At first I thought, "maybe," but then I noticed that no one was under me.
And that's not usually the species of tree we'd you know on.
It all started when this girlfriend of mine asked me if I'd go out on a limb and
Well, I ought to stop now because I promised it would remain our secret.
Taking a gamble in Nevada; great fun.
Looks as though you got caught trying to branch out
That's why I had to LEAVE
Before FALL.
Makes me miss Colorado something fierce. I moved to WA 2.5 years ago...and I want to move home again soon.
Wonderful shots Larry. Would you be permitted to fish in that stream? The people in the second one provide a proportionate size to the stream - very good.
What beautiful scenery ! Great shots Larry, thanks for haring these pic's!
I can honestly say that I have always loved living in Colorado, the mountains can't be beat for beauty. And having four actual seasons is just great.
Yes you can fish the streams in Colorado and like AMac I do fly fish as often as I can get out. Our streams have Rainbow, German Brown, Cut Throat and Brook Trout while the lakes have all the same Trout we also have a wide variety of fish Tiger Muskies, Bass SM and LG, Pike, Blue Gill, Perch, Crappie and several salmon species a fisherman will always find something at the end of his line in Colorado.
I took this shot while visiting Larry a couple years ago.
Thomas Lincoln Handy High School (Bay City, MI) Wildcats. Hmmmmm...I sense a conflict here (a very tasty conflict). They actually sold sheep costumes, Mac?? Far Out.
Great shots Larry. I've been trying to get some of the pair of Hawks that are constantly circling over town, but I'm not quite skillful enough yet to get a good shot of a flying bird.
Keep up the effort it will pay off when you least expect it.
At 40 degrees you wouldn't stay long, this is glacier fed.
Glad that you enjoyed them Tzia.
Need to keep the camera in my pocket at all times, ready to turn on.
The shot I'd really like to have gotten of them happened last summer. The guys across the street from me have a small hedge of Spruce trees between their driveways. They were standing at the hedge talking and didn't realize that there was a rabbit hiding under the tree between them. All of a sudden, one of the hawks dropped down, snatched the rabbit right out from between them and took off. Total elapsed time was about five seconds. Wouldn't have even have had time to turn the camera on, but that would have been a perfect shot (or video) to get, particularly the looks on their faces when the hawk appeared and the hawk and rabbit disappeared.
Awesome shots Larry ! If you ever do get them to sit in trees try to make it a video instead of stills . No one would believe such a still shot ...
You may find this of interest, TTGA.
You mean like this Petey???
Whoa ... that could make goat herding a hazardous job .
Hi Larry, so nice to see you here............great photos too!! Kara.
