"A Bad Day Fishing …"

The saying goes,

"A Bad Day Fishing is Better than a Good Day Working!"

So then, what's a GOOD DAY fishing?

Today, I had a good day (fly) fishing

4367_discussions.jpg?width=750 Calico Bass

4368_discussions.jpg Smallmouth Bass

4369_discussions.jpg Bluegill Sunfish

4370_discussions.jpg Yellow Perch (I'm the one wearing the cap)

NOTE: I also caught a large Brook Trout but they are fairly delicate so I took a fast video (no stills) and released it. ALL FISH WERE RELEASED UNHARMED.

The fish is thinking "Whew, I know this guy he'll take my picture and return me to the water."

I would have eaten the perch - very sweet meat. The sunfish has too many bones, but when I had my cottage on a lake I ate the bass keepers I caught. Cycle of life - survival of the fittest.

Looks like the same fly in several of the photos. Royal Coachman?

I don't remember; I tied it years ago when my hands worked better. I think I'll start tying again -- I'll check some youtube videos to get me re-started.

Another version of a Royal Coachman.

I think that the top one would be easier to cast with a flyrod.

I think that the top one would be easier to cast with a flyrod.

But it would be easier to horse a fish in.

Can I use the microwave ones or do I have to start from scratch and pop them over a bonfire?

Since we'll be out fishing, I think from scratch and the bonfire sounds good.

Good middle of the night, A.Mac. Since you're up at this time, here is a photo of a Falcon nesting in a tree.
