Liberal vs Conservative Thinking

In reposnse to some good advice posted by our fellow NewsTalker, Tacos y Margaritas , in a article he posted about "Slowing down" and reading things twice before responding, I said;

There are many people that could read an article 6 times and they would not change their mind from the 1st impression they formed, not even for themselves .... because that is the way they're built. Once they form an opinion they will refuse to change that opinion regardless of what new perspective they use, or what new information they are presented with.

This is something I only suspected when I began to debate on social new sites, now after the 5 years I spent on Newsvine, posting 3,405 articles and seeds, and 15,375 comments, I am absolutely convinced that my suspicionshave been confirmed.

Liberal minds think broadly and liberally and usually arrive at an intelligent conclusion.

Conservative minds think more conservatively, and in a narrow manner, usually arriving at a more narrow, less intelligent conclusion.

See; Researchers Find a Liberal Gene and Political Views Hardwired....

I have been a registered Republican since 1957 and at one time was a campaign manager for a Conservative NY State Senator during 2 successful campaigns.

Then I grew up politically......

"....For having lived long, I have experienced many instances of being oblig'd by better Information or fuller consideration, to change Opinions even on important matters, which I once thought right but found to be otherwise. ...." [Benjamin Franklin]

..... and I became a Left Winger.

It's not necessarily the article or comment that has to be read twice, it's the response you post that should be read twice, even three times, before you post it. Anticipating the response to your post is the best way to be most effective with your comments regardless of what side of the political fence you reside.

What if the right winger learned ofenlightenmentand conquered anxiety?

As for the liberal gene it seems more research is needed.

What aboutcentralism?

When it comes to the human gene, motr trsearch will always be needed.

When it come

What aboutcentralism?

The centrist and moderates run the country, as they are the largest block of voters. The Far Right and Far Left just make noise.

As far as miss spelling words I used to be an excellent speller read on 16th grade level when tested after graduation. I fear that IQ may take a hit as well. Maybe due to lack of confidence. You seem to have avoided that and thats fantastic.
