Potpourri Nov 2023
Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris, announced Monday on X that she was quitting the social media site because it had devolved into a “gigantic global sewer” for disinformation, hatred, anti-Semitism and racism, and a “tool for destroying our democracies.”

This reminds me of the time Donald Trump Jr's fiancé Kimberly Guilfoyle showed up at a family wedding dressed in black.

Progressive commentator Keith Olbermann said he is leaving twitter, and gave Elon Musk's endorsing the Q Anon Pizzagate conspiracy as the reason.

Tough guy wannabe and MAGA hero Kyle Rittenhouse is on a book tour to promote his memoir , "Acquitted". He went on a far right show with his therapy dog, which he says he needs because he suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Has he ever appeared on a mainstream media show? I didnt think so.

Follow @JoeBiden still hasn’t apologized for defaming me. We need a president who stands up for the constitution and rule of law, not a president who attacks everyday American rights.

Maybe Biden is waiting for Rittenhouse to apologize for shooting unarmed people.

Damn, the same legal system that convicted Derek Chauvin acquitted Kyle Rittenhouse.  Where is the justice?

for shooting unarmed people

That sounds like eerily familiar commentary around here from a few folks that misunderstand how our justice system works.

I do believe that Biden will be waiting a longer time than he has left for such a thing to occur.

Me too! Hate to see people waste money.

Probably right about one-time, too, as I suspect he couldn't get another book out of his trial.

.unless he plans to go out and get another 'case' that MAGA will be interested in seating him down to promote.

Who in MAGA has promoted him or any of his case?

Maybe he'll just live a peaceful life from now, on, free from the tyranny of some liberals who liked to riot.

Better yet, maybe he will realize that people who don't go out of their way to be vigilantes during street protests. . . don't need therapy animals. Although I am sure the dog he's hosting needs a friend. Shooting people and having to deal with the consequences can be exasperating at the least!

Have a care how you speak about the dead (two killed by Rittenhouse), please. Something ought to be above politics and ideology in this life!

Killed:

Joseph Rosenbaum, 36.

Anthony Huber, 26.

Injured:

Gaige Grosskreutz, 26. (At the time.)

No one wants to comment on Melania Trump showing up at a funeral with light colored clothes on?

I would say she needs a new social director.

CB
Professor Principal
3.1  CB  replied to  JohnRussell @3    last year

I actually dress 'down' for funerals myself. I tend to use neutral colors centered around black yet not only black . I do so because I think of death partly as a 'celebration' of liberty from pain and sickness. Also, that death is what it is—so we might as well just get on with it in the best manner we can-dress being the least important part of the service. That said, once again Melania has 'stunned' her audience likely as she did when she inexplicably wore this:

melania-jacket-5.jpg?fit=1024,800&ssl=1

All that said, Melania's obviously or probably did not chat with the other first ladies about her wardrobe choices as she strived to set herself apart from the rest of the "first wives club" and it leaves me prone to accept that she probably does not communicate with the other former first ladies at any length.

And so there you have it: Melania Trump is a maverick!
